Holy, Holy, Holy

i love my job for a lot of reasons.  i love, love, love the girls i teach with.  we have some hard core belly laughs just about daily.  it's good for my soul to laugh like that.

i will admit though, my j-o-b is t-o-u-g-h somedays.  i've been tired lately.  some of that is probably due to the little peanut growing in my belly, but mostly it's due to the nature of my job.  i've been dragging the last 2 weeks.  i'm ready for a break and even more than that, the kids are ready for a break.  we've been taking it easy the past week finishing up a book we've been reading with an art project that has consumed the kids attention.  it's been good for all of us!

there are days i could easily throw in the towel, but then there are days like last tuesday.  pandora has a fantastic contemporary Christian station so i let them listen to music while they work.  i normally have 1 or 2 girls who will sing along to just about every song that comes on, but tuesday was quite a bit different.

i had 22 students scattered around my classroom working quietly and diligently on their art projects.  {that in itself is nothing short of a miracle these days!}  i started to hear the opening notes to "revelation song" start to play.  i got really excited because i LOVE this song!!  i love picturing the angels at God's throne, praising His Holy Name DAY and NIGHT.  i was walking around the room checking on the kids projects when the chorus started.  i stood in the middle of my classroom and listened to 22 sweet voices singing:

Holy, Holy, Holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come

the Lord knew i needed that.  i love His daily reminders that He is always with me.  i'm not even sure the kids knew they were singing, but i just stood there and listened.  hearing their sweet voices praise The Creator was even better for my soul than the daily belly laughs.

And the four living creatures, each of them with six wings, are full of eyes all around and within, and day and night they never cease to say,
Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord God Almighty
who was and is and is to come!

is it really october?

and i'm back!!!

wow, that was quite the blogging hiatus, but i think we are finally starting to come up for air again.

this past summer was a complete whirlwind.  reed and i were the youth ministers for bpumc {really reed was, i just tagged along!}  we had an awesome time and loved every minute we got to minister & lead the students. i'm sure i've mentioned it before, but reed has such a passion for teaching students.  there are days i love to just sit back and listen to him talk about his plans for helping the kids grow in their faith & bringing them closer to The Father.  we took a lot of trips {Ga, La, Fl} which caused us to spend a lot of time away from home, but i wouldn't have changed any of it!

we did manage a couple of life changes over the summer.  one of which was the big move!  moving was NO WHERE on my radar when i posted last. {yes, i am ashamed to say that was in april}  anyway, we found this cute little house and both really liked it.  one thing led to another and we bought it!  there are definitely times we miss the old house, but this one is less than a mile from where i teach so the commute is AMAZING!  i'm sleeping at least an extra 30 minutes to an hour everyday!

the extra sleep has definitely come in handy with our BIGGEST news from the summer!  baby king is on his/her way!!  we feel completely blessed that God has given us this special little miracle.  i'm especially grateful he is bringing us this gift without bringing me all the sickness!  i've felt great from the beginning!  we went to the doctor yesterday for our 20 week ultrasound {which was indescribable!} and our little peanut {or cantaloupe as babycenter.com told us} is doing great!  measuring exactly on schedule.  i've felt the baby kick and wiggle quite a bit and it's definitely getting more frequent.  20 weeks would have been the ultrasound we found out if baby king is a boy or girl, but we're not going to find out!  we're so excited about this baby and going to let God surprise us!

our little peanut at 20 weeks!!

to top off the amazingness of God and his timing, 2 of reed's college roommates are expecting babies within a month of baby king!

my friend, rachel, had her baby in july & our other friends are expecting twins any day now!!  babies are definitely in bloom all around us and we are so excited for what God has in store.

please pray with us as our peanut continues to grow.  our prayer is that our son or daughter will live to glorify The Father above all else.

stay tuned.  we have a feeling our journey is just beginning!!
