Hospital Stay
Before the surgery she was a real trooper. She was smiling and laughing and telling everyone she broke her arm. They gave her "giggle gas" and she was feeling great! She went back no problems.
After the surgery she was a different child. She was mean and mad. She tried to pull out her iv and she tried to pull off her heart monitor and her cast. She did not want to lay down, sit down, stand up or be held it was like she just wanted out of her skin. She was so tired but she would NOT go to sleep. *Side Note: Please excuse the way I look I was thriving on about 4 hours sleep and had rubbed all my makeup off and didn't have time that morning to fix my hair.
Pooh Bear came up and saw her little sister and brought her a fox and my brother brought her a turtle. They made her a little happier. By the end of the day she had doughnuts, a cookie bouquet, a box of ring pops, a build a bear cat complete with cast and a pink poodle all brought to her from friends and family!
Daddy Bear, Pooh Bear, Paw Paw, Mimi, my brother and I put her in the wagon and rode her around the hospital. That seemed to make her a little happier but she was still a pistol ball. After they left we settled in for a long night of crying and tossing and turning.
We are at home now and she is better but still a little ill. Hopefully she will be a lot better after a good nights sleep in her own bed. The really bad thing is I have to keep her off all playgrounds for the next 2 to 4 weeks until the pins are out. How do you do that with a 2 1/2 year old?

Eventful Day - Prayers Please
Sugar Bear fell at school today and broke her elbow so we have surgery tomorrow morning. Please say lots and lots of prayers. She has to have three pins put in her elbow and a full cast.

Tea Time
Sugar Bear went to a cute tea party birthday today. They had little heart sandwiches, fruit, candy bracelets, and of course tea. I think she liked the candy the best as usual.
The candy bracelet was in her mouth just about the entire time.
And when the bracelet was not in her mouth she was putting on blue lip gloss.
She looked like a Smurf.

Word of Wisdom
I copied this from another blog I came across the other day and I really enjoyed it so I thought I would share it with all of you.
A professor stood before his philosophy class
and had some items in front of him.
When the class began, wordlessly,
he picked up a very large
and empty mayonnaise jar
and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.
He then asked the students if the jar was full.
They agreed that it was.
The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar.
He shook the jar lightly.
The pebbles rolled into the open
areas between the golf balls.
He then asked
the students again
if the jar was full..
They agreed it was.
The professor next picked up a box of sand
and poured it in to the jar.
Of course, the sand filled up everything else.
He asked once more if the jar was full.
The students responded
with an unanimous
“yes.”
The professor then produced
two cups of coffee from under the table
And poured the entire contents
into the jar, effectively
filling the Empty space between the sand.
The students laughed.
“Now,” said the professor,
as the laughter subsided,
“I want you to recognize that
this jar represents your life.
The golf balls are the important things -
God, family, children, health,
friends, and favorite passions –
things that if everything else was lost
and only they remained,
your life would still be full.
The pebbles are the other things that matter
like your job, house, and car.
The sand is everything else –
the small stuff.
“If you put the sand into the jar first,”
he continued,
“there is no room for
the pebbles or the golf balls.
The same goes for life.
If you spend all your time
and energy on the small stuff,
you will never have room for
the things that are
important to you.
So…
Pay attention to the things
that are critical to your happiness.
Play with your children.
Take time to get medical checkups.
Take your partner out to dinner.
Play another 18.
There will always be time
to clean the house
and fix the disposal.
“Take care of the golf balls first –
the things that really matter.
Set your priorities.
The rest is just sand.”
One of the students raised her hand
and inquired what the coffee represented.
The professor smiled.
“I’m glad you asked”.
It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there’s always room for
a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.
