First Softball Practice

Well here she is....our newest softball girl and her first practice.

Ready to catch some balls

She is so tiny compared to the other girls.  But she is tough and tries her best to hang in there.

 Running the bases

We went and got her a smaller helmet after this practice.
I was not real sure she could see with her sister helmet.

Big sis was there to watch her little sister and to meet with her friends.

And last but not least a little batting practice.

Valentine Party

Pooh Bear had a Valentine's Party at her school and I was there to help.  But none of these pictures are mine I have to give my friend Kelly all the credit...And a BIG Thank You! I was out of it for some reason and in such a hurry I left my camera in the car.

They got to listen to a story...

Ice a cupcake...

play a game and make an owl craft.

The party was a lot of fun and I think Pooh Bear was glad to see me.  I was glad I was able to go,  another sweet friend of mine kept Sugar Bear during the party.  I tell you what this day might have been a total bust without the help of my friends.  Sugar Bear had a class party too but it was kids only.  So unfortunately I was not able to go and take pictures.

After school the girls came home and opened Valentine's from me and Daddy Bear.
They got a small heart box of chocolates...

Monkey P.J.'s...

and a shirt that says Green is my Favorite Color.
I got them this shirt because Pooh Bear's softball color is green.

Then they got a combo gift earrings and a book.

Snow...

Our weather is so crazy!!  It was a high of 65 today and felt great but just last week it was snowing.  Like I said it is just crazy!  I have to say I am loving the warm weather and I hope it stays.  But here are a few pictures of Sugar Bear playing in the snow last week.

and of course she was eating it too

But I don't think she liked it very much...

So she decided to roll snowballs and make a snowman.

She pretty much used all the snow on the back deck to make her snowman.

Here is Sugar Bear's finished snowman.

When Pooh Bear got home and saw Sugar Bear's snowman she HAD to make one too! This is what hers looked like.

And here they are together I guess they are sisters!

Father/Daughter Dance..

I bet you guys wonder where I have been.  Well things have been a little crazy around here!  I got a pretty yucky cold that I have been fighting all week but I am feeling much better.  I have also been planning for both the Father Daughter Dance and Sugar Bear's class party.  We also started softball practice this week and my mom is out of town so I have been trying to help "take care of" my dad and brother!  One of the ways I helped was attending the Freshmen parent meeting at the High School.  I left there thinking two things  (1) I am glad it is my little bro going into the 9th grade and not me (2) Boy, I sure am glad that my oldest is only in 1st grade!!!   I tell you what High School is SERIOUS business!!

Anyway here are the pictures from the Father/ Daughter Dance

The room looked so cute I gave them the idea to use the pom poms like I did at Pooh Bear's party.  Paige and I made what felt like 400 pom poms but was really only like 30 a piece. Andrea did the cute simple center pieces.  She took a Valentine's bag and tied balloons to the handle and sprinkled candies on the table.

This is the back drop I painted for the pictures.  I thought it turned out pretty cute!

Here is Pooh Bear all dressed up!!  She wore the beautiful red dress that Mimi bought her for Christmas this year.  It was silk and velvet and looked so pretty on her! She also put on all her fancy jewelry!

I put just a VERY little blush and mascara on her and curled her eyelashes!
It was just enough to make her feel special but not so much that she was to made up.

Of course we had to wear our fancy sweater too!   It was a very fancy and special night.

Her she is with her "date" Daddy Bear.  We bought her a sweet little corsage and she loved it!

Sugar Bear was not old enough to go this year but not to worry I got her all dolled up too and Paw Paw and Uncle D took us out.

Paw Paw let her choose where we went and she picked the place where you throw peanuts on the floor.
After we ate dinner we went to DD and got a heart shaped Doughnut!

A picture of her with Daddy before she left!

I think Sugar had a good night too.  But she was funny, at the end of the night when we were walking up the stairs she looks at me and says, "Do I have to change clothes?".  I told her YES she did that she could not sleep in her dress.  She said, "Aw, man I have a lot to take off, being fancy is hard work!".  I could not have said it better myself!!

To Many Pictures...

Today was a pretty laid back day except for getting ready for pictures.
Our church has decide to update the directory and so we had to get a family picture.
The girls did a really good job at the church.  They were happy and things were great.  Except for.... well lets just say the pictures the photographer took were not so great.  The lighting was bad and they posed us very awkwardly.  So I was pretty bummed.  I had spent pretty much the whole morning getting everyone ready.  So I called mom and told her we were on our way to her house.

Things were again going pretty good until for some reason Pooh Bear decide she was DONE!
She walked away and started cry and was very upset.   We tried to cheer her up but nothing was working.

Sugar Bear was still just a smiling she loves the camera.  We thought maybe Pooh Bear watching her little sister smile and be happy would help her be happier.

As you can tell that did not work.  She really was done!

But I was not giving up on her so I started playing with her and chasing her with the camera.  She was running and laughing and every time I pointed the camera at her she stuck out her tongue!

Or she would try and put her hand in front of the lens.

Her Daddy covered her tongue and tried to tell her she was being silly.
But at least she was not crying anymore!

Well then of course Sugar Bear had to start sticking her tongue out too!

But she wised up and knew that the smiling pictures really are the prettiest.

Softball evaluations....

We spent Saturday with Pooh Bear at the ball field.  It was 8U player evaluation time!!
And seeing as how Pooh Bear has not touched a ball or hit a ball since last April we weren't real sure how it was going to go.  Well that is not completely true, her and her daddy practiced for about 45 minutes in the back yard Friday afternoon.

Dressed and ready to go!

We all walked in and Daddy, Pooh Bear and I just about had a heart attack when we saw the pitching machine.  She has never hit off the machine and the balls were traveling pretty fast. But she stepped up to the plate and she hit 9 of the 10 balls.  Whew!  After that she had to field a few balls.

She did a pretty good job we just need to brush her up on the fundamentals.

After batting and fielding is was off to running.   She ran with all her might and got a lap of 6.3 seconds and the girl that was in the 10U league before her got a 5.6 so I think Pooh Bear did pretty good.
All in all she did a really good job.

Now we just sit back and see what team we are on.  I just hope she is with at least a friend or two.
