Team Green Machine

Saturday's game was a tuff one.  Sugar Bear had a really hard time hitting.  She ended up striking out twice and hitting a single.  She was just not in her groove for some reason.  Normally she is a really strong hitter but I am not sure if the games make her nervous or if the girls pitching to her throw her off.  But we are going to work with her some and see if we can get her back on track.  Daddy Bear even had me outside windmill pitching to her today.  I am already sore and I have a feeling I am going to REALLY feel it in the morning.

See that sad face?  This was her walking back to the dugout after one of her strike outs.  It just breaks my heart to see her so down on herself.  Daddy and I are always proud of her no matter what.

Class Project

Pooh Bear is creating a book about one of her grandparents and she chose MiMi.  She had a list of about 10-15 questions that she had to ask her. She also had to collect 5 pictures of her Mimi to include in the book.  I thought these pictures were to special to not share.  Pooh Bear and Sugar Bear loved looking at all of these pictures as did I.

This is Mom and I when I was little.  See I was a little toe head like the girls.

Sugar Bear's First Game

and I think she had a BLAST.  She was dancing and smiling and just seemed like she was loving every minute of it.  She was a lot of fun to watch.

I am not sure if she was looking at the ball or looking at me.

She hit the ball off the tee and ran as fast as she could but she was tagged right before she got to the base.  Mom and I were so sure she was safe.  My Mom was there to watch and take lots of great pictures for me.

I am not real sure what happened here.  I think maybe she swung to early?

Her second time to bat she actually hit it off the coach.  She was so proud of herself.

Her sweet coach does such a great job with the girls.  He is patient and really does try his best to teach them the right way to do things.  I am so glad we decided to let her play and that she ended up on his team. I think she is going to have a Fantastic year.

I think maybe she is posing for me?

After the game the other teams head coach was sure to give her a friendly tickle and tell her she did good.  He is a friend of ours and his boys really like Sugar Bear.

Like I said at the beginning I think she had a great time.

One rotten dog...

I have been talking about hamsters so much lately that I felt like the dog was being neglected.  So I decided to post this picture I took of him laying on our bed the other day.  He really is one rotten dog.  But I love him to death and he is hands down the best dog I have ever had.

What in the world...

I know that is what you are thinking. What is that?  This was Sugar Bear's classroom experiment! She planted grass seeds and watched them turn into this.  She was SO PROUD of her grass growing.

First Game of the Season...

Team Green Machine had their very first game tonight and they did great.  I was so nervous because this is Pooh Bear's first year in the 8 and under league.  This is a whole new "ball game".  She did great and I was so proud of her.

This two games a week is going to be tricky.  Today Pooh Bear got up this morning and went to school and when she came home she got dressed and went to dance.  After dance she ate dinner in the car and changed clothes in the parking lot.  She got to the ballpark about 20 minutes before the game and even after that long day she was still great.

Also on a side note when I picked her up from dance her teacher made a point to tell me how good she was dancing.   So it really was a great day for her.

Here she is before the game.  We were on the visitors side.

Warming up before her turn to bat.

Her first time at bat she was hitting off a little girl.  This was the first time she has ever tried to hit off of a girl and not a coach.  She managed to get a foul ball but she ended up striking out.

The second time at bat we had two outs and it was the last inning and we were down by two.  Thank goodness she did not know all that.  She got up there and swung at two and missed.  But she connected with the third pitch and hit the ball to short stop.  She ran as fast as she could and the first baseman dropped the ball and two runners came in and tied the game.  I was so excited and yelling, I lost my voice.  I am such a proud Mama.

All the Mama's were proud.  We got the girls together and took a picture.  Even though it was just a tie you would have thought we won the World Series.  But the team we tied with is considered the best one in the league.

Yup..I caved

and took the girls to PetSmart and bought them a new hamster!  Her name is Annabelle and she is crazy.  I think we should have named her Speedy.  So far she is really nice and not biting but she is still very scared of us.  I hope that she warms up to her new home soon.  I really  I mean the girls really want to be able to hold her and pet her without her trying to run out of their hands.

Putt Putt Fun

Daddy Bear and I took the girls to the local putt putt place and we had  a BLAST!  It was crowded and crazy but the girls did not seem to mind.  We managed to play a game of putt putt, play a few video games, run around in an indoor tree house and win a bunch of tickets.

Daddy Bear is always trying to improve their game.

I have to say that this did cause a problem.
If you will notice that Pooh Bear got 75 tickets and

Sugar Bear got 150.

Go Sugar Bear Go...

After Sugar Bear mastered the little bike she moved on to her sisters bike.  She is so proud of herself for riding the "Big Girl" bike.  After she mastered the big bike too, Daddy declared that this was a training wheel free house.  Then he took both sets of training wheels and threw them away.

Here are some pictures my mom took when Sugar Bear was showing her what she could do.
