Power Up

The girls are in the middle of a fundraiser for the school and they are so excited about it.  They have raised enough money to get arm bands, t-shirts and have their name entered in the drawing for an ipad. One of the mothers and a friend of mine decided to chair the new fundraiser and she is doing a GREAT job and we are keeping 100% of the money.

Simple Fun

We had a lot of fun on a rainy day.  When we stayed home on Labor Day we decided to make a tent with blankets.  The girls spent all day in it playing and watching movies.  It was a nice relaxing and fun day.

Roll Tide Roll....

September 3rd

We went to the first Alabama Game at Bryant-Denny Stadium, Alabama vs. Kent State.  This was Sugar Bears very first game and she had fun but got really tired and a little whinny at the end.  Pooh Bear on the other hand, this was her second game.  She loved every minute of.

Who are they pointing to ?

This guy, Big AL

And of course the band was AWESOME.

All in all it was a long day but we had fun for the most part.  All the walking was hard on Sugar Bear but she made it.  Our seats were pretty high but we could see good and we had a rail to rest on in front of us.  All there is left to say is Roll Tide Roll.

My Poor girl

If you are a parent then you know there are times when you wish that it was you and not your child.  Be it a hard situation or pain or a number of other things.  Well....this is one of those times for me.  If you have watched the blog for a while you have seen and heard me talk about Pooh Bear's underbite.  She has always had it and I have known for a very long time that head gear was something that she would have to do.  Today was that day.  We had an appointment at 2:00 for all the appliances to be put on.  She now has an expander in the top of her mouth that has to be turned once a day for a week to widen her top jaw.  She also has a bar that connects to the appliance with rubber bands and goes in front of her face.  She will have to sleep in the head gear and wear it at home as much as possible.

If you look close you can see that her back teeth are covered in plastic and she has a metal bar that runs across the roof of her mouth.   The plastic on her teeth are keeping her bite from closing completely.   That way the teeth do not hit each other and they can move forward.  The hooks that the bands connect to are in the front.

Because I knew it would be hard to eat anything I had decided I was going to take her to get a milkshake.  I had planned on DQ but.... the doctor gave us a certificate for a free milk shake at Johnny Rockets.

She liked her milkshake but said that it was hard to swallow.  She tried eating a fry but it got stuck in the top of her mouth.  She gave up on the fries pretty fast and just finished the shake.

Also, she has told me that I was not allowed to take a picture of her with the head gear on.  So I am respecting her wishes and you will not see any pictures of her in the head gear attachment.

Twins?

Pooh Bear's sweet teacher emailed me this picture Friday afternoon.  The title of the email was Twins?  It seems that Pooh Bear and one of her friends wore the exact same thing to school on Friday.  I am not sure if they planned it and I just did not know about it or if it really was an accident. Either way I thought it was pretty funny.

First Football Game

Pooh Bear had her very first football game to cheer at the other day and I think she had fun.

 What a cute squad.

Look at daddy helping the girls out.  Such a good dad.

She loved using her megaphone.  But she was holding it and the pom poms?

She did a really great job on the half time dance.

Her kicks are looking really good.

Here jumps are pretty good but still need a little practice.

And sister?  Well she was very happy playing with the other brothers and sisters.

And we  were lucky enough to have one of our friends come and watch us cheer. She even made sure she wore the right colors.

New Adventure

Well my new adventure has officially begun.  I have been a full time preschool teacher for the last two days.  I am tried but a good tired.  My kids are bright and they follow directions well.  I am looking forward to working with them this year. Hopefully with a little hard work they will actually leave my class knowing more than when they started.  I know I am going to give it all I have got.  But to protect the children you will not see pictures of them but I did want to show you the cute decorations in the room.

I painted this cute little tree on poster board and taped it to the wall.  I used the cricut to cut out all the owls.

Here is the area where we do circle time.

I have the alphabet, counting caterpillar, weather frog and the calendar.  I also have flag holder, line leader and caboose.

I used the washable paints and painted the windows.  I think I will change this out at Christmas time to Christmas trees.

We have clothes pins with apples hanging from the ceiling and we are going to hang their art work in the room.

Like I said I have been sub teaching for a while and I am super excited to have my own class.  I have an awesome co worker in the room with me.  She is very laid back and easy to get along with.  Which is a nice balance for me who is way to high strung. = )  I hope our friendship continues to build and that we  have a great year working together.
