Welcome to Remembering Natalie.
This blog has been created by us, Natalie's mom and sisters, to share with all of you, glimpses of her amazing 23 years of life.
This is not meant to be a sad look back . . . but more a way to tell her story and keep her memory as bright as her life was.
Our hope is that here, you'll find good doses of laughter, her great recipes,
our random thoughts and memories, and maybe a few tears.
We are not what you would call the "pro-active" type . . .
but this is our attempt to aid in the awareness of DVT and Factor V Leiden,
the conditions that ended her life here on earth.
We hope you'll check in every-so-often, and if you have any stories of her . . . please, do tell!
If you didn't know Natalie, get to know her by reading her story found at the bottom of the page . . .
So thanks for visiting & come back as often as you'd like!

The Comforter~

Comfort. Something we all need.
Let's talk pajama's.... very comfortable...warm, like a blanket...Natalie LOVED her pajama pants..they were worn, warm and fuzzy... what better thing than to make them into blankets.... These two blankets belong to Stefanie and Melanie, both are made from Natalie's pajama pants....soft and warm. You are never to old to have a blanket, to be comforted....

Comfort is something that I do not take for granted and that I am especially thankful for, and have had a reaffirmation of this past week.
A beautiful young woman by the name of Chelsi Petersen age 20 was tragically killed in an automobile accident on the 6th of this month. I did not know Chelsi personally, but I have been acquainted with her mother through friends.
My thoughts turned to Chelsi's family and my heart aches for them as I understand the grief and pain they are feeling at this time. But I also know that they are not being left comfortless...I know that they have the Comforter giving them strength beyond what they have, and wrapping them in a warm blanket of assurance that all is well.
Everything I know I learned in Primary....how true is that? I was taught the the Holy Ghost is the Comforter, like a warm blanket...and I have been wrapped in that warmth from the very moment that Natalie was taken back home. Each and every day I am given the knowledge that all is well.
Bill and Lisa, Shayli and Chaz, I know that you are being comforted, wrapped in the blanket of our Heavenly Fathers love...

Sisters~

Sisters....there is nothing like having a sister. Someone you can talk too, listen too, depend on, relate too, laugh and cry with.
To see all 3 of my girls together is a joy beyond description. And even though they are so very far apart in a physical sense.....scattered here, there and beyond.....
they are so very close together.
With Stefanie here from Kentucky these few short weeks, I can feel my 3 girls together..yes, even Natalie.......relating, talking, listening, depending, laughing..
I can't help but think of the great song from the classic movie "White Christmas" called "Sisters"...it makes me smile every time I hear it ...and it plays in my mind when I look at these 3 incredible sisters together.... I hope you know the tune...you've got to sing along to put a smile on your face!
Sisters, sisters There were never such devoted sisters. Never had to have a chaperone, no sir. I´m here to keep my eye on her. Caring, sharing Every little thing that we are wearing. When a certain gentleman arrived from Rome, She wore the dress and I stayed home. All kinds of weather we stick together. The same in the rain or sun. Two different faces but in tight places. We think and we act as one, ha-ha-ha-ha Those who´ve seen us Know that not a thing can come between us. Many men have tried to split us up, but no one can. Lord help the mister who comes between me and my sister. And lord help the sister who comes between me and my man. All kinds of weather we stick together The same in the rain or sun. Two different faces but in tight places. We think and we act as one, ah-ha Those who´ve seen us Know that not a thing could come between us. Many men have tried to split us up, but no one can. Lord help the mister who comes between me and my sister. And lord help the sister who comes between me and my man!
