December

Just got the installer and installed brand new Football Manager (FM) 2009 last weekend… And as consequence, these 2 recent weekends had been filled with this game and almost nothing else…

FM always posses extraordinary addictiveness on me, which some other more popular games i.e. dota, CS never manage to do so on me… and I had gone through several sleepless nights during these weekends to finish one and one another match plus doing experiment on various tactic to find out the most efficient ‘winning formula’ …

Have been playing every version of FM since CM time, FM2009 is kind of more challenging and have much more features on tactic that need to be taken into consideration and adjusted in order to win the matches…

In this version few Man Utd players are so underrated, especially Carrick and Rafael… and one thing, my favorite in previous FM games, Aguero is not tat God-like anymore in this version…haih…

Ok, back to life and it’s really fast that we are actually near to the half-way of the final month in 2008…

Supposing it’s winter over here now…but the temperature is still nearly 0 C and it never snow yet, not even one drop… it’s kinda late if compare to last 2 years… I think this is just a proof of the seriousness of global warming... but on another side, it’s so much better to have a winter with such temperature instead of -10 something or even lower and have to go through all the hassles when walking on the slippery road covered by ice… but I’m sure the worst is yet to come…

This coming week is the week where I don’t have any concluding test after so many weeks… but the workloads of new topics for every class are so much more than before… some more this time have to compensate the loss time that I spent on FM and did nothing academically… so again, I have to go through the tough Monday till Thursday… These 4 days are getting more and more tiring and torturing, where our class starts early and ends late which actually force us have to travel outside during the coldest time of the day…

Anyway, just left 3 weeks for the class time, then will be New Year break, follow up next is study week and somewhere in mid January will be the most unwanted - finals exam time… But I think I’m going to miss my this sem time table where I suffer to max in the beginning of the week, then enjoy to max after that…

Ok…got to go…though time is flying fast, tough time always moves slower…

p/s: This is the period when most of my friends are in their uni holidays...
To those who are lucky to b in holidays now, Happy Holidays and have fun !!

Another Tough Week-ed

This week has been extraordinarily tough and hectic…

Supposing when it reaches to Thursday night, my week is over and life is with less tension before another week begins… but this week I had to go for concluding tests on Friday and Saturday as these were the tests which we requested to postpone…

Monday till Saturday with heavy workloads everyday make myself so exhausted…

Anyway, today’s test has ended just now and life can be slow down for a moment…

Btw, the weather is very cold (for autumn) since last week, approaching 0C… but today’s weather suddenly return to comfortably nice… but still, the exclusive Russian winter is coming soon…

Now, want to have a hot bath and then need to give myself a long nice sleep first…

Breakkk

Currently enjoying Russia People’s Unity Days public holidays on this Monday and Tuesday… plus I don’t have on Saturday this sem and a half-day class on Friday… that’s mean I’m enjoying a 4 and half days break this time!

October had been very hectic with all big and small tests came in one by one… and at last the first round of concluding tests ended around last week… and the next round is coming soon in several weeks time.. So, this 4 days break is the only time to really have rest and catch up what we have been left all this time… Just consider it as a short mid-sem break…

Last 3 days had been great… Did group dinners… cooked, bought and ate some nice food… and in the remaining two days, I just want to have a good rest and watch some series, movies or entertainment shows… No more enthusiasm to go out and watch their celebration and parade during this Unity Day… and tomorrow night the same old study cycle has to begin again…

Yesterday was the final fixture day of autumn season of VSMU Malaysian football league… this season our 3rd year team’s result is not very promising… 2 wins and 5 lost… but we still really had fun throughout the games…at least we scored some spectacular goals…haha…

Little bit bout this sem...

This sem I got a challenging yet interesting time table…

Bad thing is that all the heavy subjects are packed into first 4 days of the week and I have to studying like hell during those days…

But the best part is that after Thursday’s classes, my tough week is practically considered ended… After that what I got are just minor and much relax classes… Friday have only Russian class till 12pm only while Saturday have Bioethics class which takes place once in 2 weeks and lasts for 5 classes only…

So, this sem I have much better and longer weekend time… though first 4 days need to pay more effort than others… so far still affordable… but later when volume of discussion topics has increased or all kinds of tests coming together, I don’t know how la…

Anyway, like this is still better gua… for the first time in 3 years here, I can have 2 days off for weekend…or can be said 2 n half days off as Friday class is till noon… Just as our Chinese proverbs sound like ‘first bitter then sweet’ lo…

Tonight is Friday night, a calm and relaxing night without any tension to finish all the topics before the next day…

By the way, I was given the job to bring our scholars juniors to uni from this hostel this afternoon… a group of 17 people… and the thing is, these juniors were calling me ‘Abang, Abang’ when they wanted to ask something throughout the way… I was like.. omg... sound damn weird…mayb I’m not used to this kind of culture in Malays society… anyhow, better just call me without any gelaran…

Seeing another batch coming here, and this give me a thought that I’m really 3rd year now…everything is fast, and hope it’s just as fast to get to time for next journey back home :)

It has been just 3 weeks since I came back to here but I feel like I’m back for years… Maybe long duration of dreadful class everyday gives such illusion…

Keep breaking my own plan to update blog… and seem like it need some special mood or motivation for me to really take action to log in to my blog account and type something…

Recalling from what happened to me since I reached here from holidays…

The very first moment when I was back and stepped onto the land of this city called Volgograd on 28 aug, something bad and ridiculous already occurred on me… My check-in luggage didn’t reach airport here together with my domestic flight! It was actually my first time to experience such problem and it had to be in Russia...

It was so damn difficult to deal with this kind of problem when it’s on the lands of Russia… Everything have to communicate in Russians and to make the thing worst, Russians people here are well-known in their bad service attitude… Something amazing was that it was not my fault at all in missing the luggage but the airport officers here kept on blaming me as if they have no responsibilities at all… Anyway, after some frustrating arguments with my poor Russians, finally managed to force them to take down my contact and report on luggage lost…

Then seniors told me I need to call airport myself everyday as normally they wouldn’t contact us themselves when luggage is found… The next evening I started to call to try my luck and fortunately they replied that the luggage had reached that morning… So I immediately went to airport and claimed it… I had to spend on extra transport fee to and back from airport to get back my luggage but don’t complain too much as long as can get back the luggage from this kind of airport here… I was actually very very worried that whole day if it couldn’t be found back because there are so many nice and important stuff in the luggage which was 20 something kg…

Just another great experience gained in dealing problem with Russians…

Another troublesome thing to do once we arrive here was we need to do visa registration at foreign students’ department of university… It was common to see human’s sardine pack outside the visa registration room during that time in addition to slow efficiency of those officers inside and sometimes quarrel may occur if there is someone who cut line especially if it involves students from different countries…

Last year I waited like more than 2 hours only reached my turn to go in to register my visa for renewal…and this time was a bit luckier, waited for 1 hour plus…

These were the hassles I had to undergo once I was back here…

The previous blog title has been used for some years ady and even myself also feel very sien everytime seeing those same words when clicking into my own blog...

So, finally take the action to change it...

yea... when keep growing up and up, begin to realize and understand the fact that there is difference between reality and dream... Some dreams are just fantasy forever... and sometimes it's better to go for something more realistic...

No matter what, life is always like a dream if we believe in it... and this blog is continuing to job down what I've accomplished from life and dreams...

3RD YEAR

So.... I'm actually back to Russia again and entering 2nd week of my third year studies here...

Nearly-2-month holidays had been very great as no other place in this world can be better than a place called 'Home'...

Third year is no joke at all... Time table is pack and required lots of travelling... It's just second week but looks like the study rhythm is entering its high pace...

okie...Sunday night is always full of tension as I have to adjust myself immediately from weekend mood... will write more in next post soon, hopefully...:)

080808

Today is an especially special day rite…

080808, should be once in my life time (unless I’m still alive when 121 years old lar)

Then at 0808080808, the long-awaited Beijing Olympic Games will finally begin… and the Games will surely fill my time greatly…

Hope Malaysia contingent can do something outstanding this time lah… At least get a hyper-historical gold medal…

No matter how I avoid thinking bout it, I have to return to Russia in 20 days… and time is still flying super lightning quick though I’m still stand steadily in holiday’s mood… Quote from joker in the Dark Knight, ‘when unstoppable force meets immovable object’… and in this case, unstoppable force will gain victory…

20days, enough for Olympic Games to begin and end… and there are still lots of things that I can enjoy especially there will be a one-week school holidays soon…

Lion City 2008

Went to Singapore last week…
And it was something that I feel need to job down lately so that I can remember it for a long period, if not forever…

Before this, I haven’t been to the Lion City for years… and this time, went there mainly to visit some friends who are studying there and have a look on how the city has developed all these years…

(In brief)

29/7:
Arrived when it was near to noon time, and after some funny misunderstanding, finally met up with Chong It who was the main host during our stay in Singapore… After settling down at his hostel room, we went to look around in the campus of Nanyang Technological University (NTU)… class and excellent facilities all around which I can never got chance to have them in Russia…

At night, had dinner with few friends there and also chit-chatting at tv lounge.

30/7:
Went to city centre… Strolled around at several shopping malls there, Esplanade, Merlion, and also went into historical 5-star Fullerton Hotel…

At night, walked around at Chinatown and had dinner there…

Before going back to hostel, went to Quayside to enjoy night view at riverside …

31/7:
Hang around at Jurong Point, nearest shopping mall to NTU…

Watched “Money No Enough 2” (钱不够用2) which was newly on show in Singapore… typical Jack Neo’s movie with lots of jokes and touching elements….

Had dinner with a bunch of Jit Sinians who are studying in NTU… and spent whole night with some card games with friends there…

1/8:
Went to National University of Singapore (NUS) to visit some other Jit Sin friends there…

Whole noon time was spent by looking around in NUS… another great university...

At night, had dinner and hang around at Vivo City, the largest shopping mall in Singapore…

2/8:
Went to Bugis Road which is labelled as largest street shopping location in Singapore… and ideal place to shop for cheap things but there was packed with crowd all around…

Also entered and experienced National Library of Singapore…

Had last dinner with Chong It during our stay in Singapore this time…

Left Singapore at 9.30pm… The coach was like taking flight… has ample space and got personal tv to watch movies or listen songs... but it cost 70sd ahhh…

10 July 2008

Back to Origin!

Yea…I have been home for 1 week already and currently enjoying the best time of the year at the greatest place of the world called ‘home’…

Singapore Airline was awesome…I felt reluctant to sleep much in whole 16 hour flight because the screen in front of me was so tempting with lots of interesting programs in it and non-stop food and drinks served…

Did nothing much in the first week… watching some nonsense series, online, EAT and sleep… but sure there are more to come in my 2-month holidays!

Well…using home desktop computer with bigger screen than laptop and with all the colourful pictures can appear on screen as there is no more MB worries make me feel I have so much to do on internet now…hehe…

Seem like there is no massive change to Penang… but the empty land around my house is now full of new terrace houses where the construction is near to be completed… guess next year when I come back here will be stuffed with many new residents d…

Ok..just little update for this time… and my hp number here is still the same as before: +6017-4853395

p/s: Malaysia is so so so hot leh……

04 June 2008

Nearer to Home~~

It’s June… and this day in next month, I will be in my lovely home in Penang already! That’s not a very long way jer…

But first of all, have to endure the toughest days… Final exams of course… This Friday will be a Biochem MCQ exam which comes out from 600 questions that we need to study… Then, 14 June will be Physiology finals… Then, 21 June will be Biochemistry (oral part) finals… Then, 2 July flight back to homeland… Then… the rest is in heaven…

Less than 20 days only to finish my 2nd year!!! I hope I can really give it a hard strives for the coming exams in these several days and after 21 June, another academic year is gone and everything is stopped before the cycle begin again after 2 months…

Just hope everything finish as soon as possible, no matter what as long as pass my exams... and then escape from all these… that’s all…

HoT

The heat is on!!!

It’s so damn hot nowadays… Still left one week to officially enter beginning of summer season, but it’s really very hot now already with 30C something and the sun is shining brightly and strikingly…

The hot here is kind of very dry… Normally we are not sweating like raining, but whole body feels very sticky and uncomfortable…

Neither winter nor summer is fun… They are both extreme…

Anyway, left 1 month plus a bit for the glorious time to fly back home!

P/S:
These few days when very sien, I was thinking of the q from pohwei about the comparison between life here and cendana life during our college time…

If compare school time, there is not much difference lar… both also…err… (fill in yourself)

The life after class, erm… most of the time life at both places is filled by boredom also… But I think as Cendana was located in KL which is a facilities-better city than here, sometimes we could have some fun activities and outings… and plenty of nights I was spending at friends’ rooms at Cendana which is different than here…

While here, outing is rare, main plus point is once in a time we will gather to have a good meal together and we may enjoy the fun of cooking in the process…but most of time cooking is just like my daily duty and it’s getting very sien…

Of course, staying at here, once in a blue moon we may have chance to travel and have a look on Russia and Europe… but that’s just few days in a year wat…

Ok… all these just according to my own life in both places ya…

Anyway, for me, always the past is better when comparing to present, no matter how bored or how bad the past was…

We can’t change anything in the past and that’s why in reminiscence, we only remember and recall those moments which are special, happy and fun…
But in present time, we will be thinking of every second as we are having the chance to make it more memorable for the reminiscence of future, that’s why we may complains and laments are more when we have nothing interesting to do with…

p/s of P/S: Pete (=pig) said of course my answer must be Cendana better because at Cendana got him wo… aiseh… slept like pig most of the time, where got good influence in my life there wo… haha…

After the match...

Sometimes, people ask me, ‘do you believe in miracle?’
My answer, yes… I always believe the existence of miracles in this world…

That’s what I think of again after the Man Utd won European Champions in a dramatic way…

Throughout the match, Man Utd totally lost domination for a long period, and even saved by goal posts twice... The most amazing one was when chelsea’s John Terry came up to take the decisive penalty to win the match… At that moment, Man Utd keeper already dived to wrong side, and the ball seemed destined to go into the another side of the goal…but, miracle really happened…somehow, it hit the goal post, and the rest is history…:)

Sometimes, we are not performing the best, but we need to keep on have faith, believe, fight on, and we might still get the best in the end… yeah…it’s all about belief…

If someone doesn’t believe in miracles, then can try following Man Utd with heart… Man Utd are still not the best in the game, but they always define miracles…

Plus, a success that achieve by tough and dramatic way is often sweeter and more memorable…

For me, sports are not just purely an entertainment… It shows the ways of life… the attitude, spirit, faith, discipline, courtesy, loyalty and everything…

Biasa d lar ~~

Another 2 weeks I have abandoned this blog…huhu… biasa d lar rite... It has often been like this…

Life here is always same without much special happenings… and somehow we all here are like directionless…only see tomolo got what class or test then begin last minute preparation…and after that, everything’s gone again… sometimes it even seems like our main purpose here is to reach the date to fly back for another summer holidays instead of learning to become a qualified doctor…

What to do…That’s the life we have to face here… biasa d lar…

But at least there is still one thing that always brings some fun elements into my life, that’s sports events all around the world!

Knew that Yesterday was the prestigious Thomas Cup semi final between Malaysia and China… But sadly, Malaysia lost in the end after giving a tough fight… It has always been like that… Our national team has the habit to lose 2-3... again and again it proves that our depth of players, especially for 3rd single is still not good enough…

The thing is, that match sound like damn exciting… and it was in Jakarta where many of my ex-college friends who are studying there currently went to watch the match live in stadium…omg… so jealous leh… haha…

So, when I had chance to watch the match on TV when in Malaysia, our team kept on losing chance to win the cup, and now at here couldn’t watch at all also lost… now we have to wait 2 more years… but so what with another 2 years rite as we have been waiting 16 years… biasa d lar…

Another thing, last Wednesday was UEFA cup final between Russian club, Zenit Saint Petersburg and Glasgow Rangers… watched the match on tv and we all supported Zenit Saint Petersburg as like we have been supported them for years… but in fact it was just their second match that I had watched… haha… and in the end Zenit won the champions of this second grade cup for European clubs… and looked like Russians in every part of this country are extremly high and happy though it is a club from another city…

Oh ya… and Manchester United have won the champions for this season of English Premier League… But no more feel so exciting if compare to last time…Maybe they won this title too often d… biasa d lar… and one thing glad is that Christiano Ronaldo’s ‘rocket’ free kick against Portsmouth in the match that I watched live in Old Trafford has been chosen as official Man Utd’s Best Goal of the Season… But I never watch the replay of that goal yet, and I didn’t see it clearly also when in stadium coz everything just happened too fast…

Well… these few days realize that every good or bad matters of life are just so little, or even incomparable if compare to disastrous earthquake in Szechuan… Knew that the number of death has exceed 20 thousands something…That is a terrific and horrifying figures…

Of course this one cannot say biasa d biasa d and treat as nothing… It might be a sign of punishment for the extreme misbehaviour of humans in these modern days…

04 May 2008

lame......

Just come back from class… Sunday, still need to go class ah? Yalar… actually it was a replacement class for Saturday’s class so we can have straight 3-day break for the past Labour Day… Why can’t they just give us 4-day break… Don’t know la… Russia always comes out with special but weird thing… whatever la…I just need to go to uni for 2-hour Microbiology class only…

I used to have class on Sunday also…That was the time when I was in Kedah Matriculation College… Huh… it was 3 years ago ady…

Actually I got 3 heavy tasks for this week:
1) Prepare notes, study and memorize for Microbiology class, topic ‘Antibiotics’
2) Prepare notes and study for Practical class, topic ‘Medical Care of patients with Cardiovascular Disease’
3) Prepare answer scheme for next Biochemistry concluding test

But during the past 3-day break, I did nothing to complete them… Only at last night I was rushing last minute to complete task on Microbiology as my class was in this stupid morning… but didn’t manage to really memorize well also and just did ok when answering in class just now…

While the other two, not even started yet…

Sometimes, ‘hypocrite’, ‘slumber’, ‘lame’ etc still not match enough to exactly describe myself...

After these tasks for this week, then Biochemistry and Microbiology’s concluding tests are around the corner, then will be final exam for practical, and then soon will be finals for Biochemistry and Physiology already. Full Stop. Summer Holidays next please…

There is a belief that after raining there is always sunshine… but then, after sunshine, there is another rain, with thunder storm one some more…

So, seems like more midnight oil for me to burn d la… Haih…enjoying too much then harder time will come… But if didn’t enjoy to the max during break, wasteful pulak…

Life is cruel…

02 May 2008

The End of VSMU football season...

So…Second day of this Labour Day’s break… What’ve I done?

The whole evening I spent at the football court… where today was the final fixture for our spring season of VSMU Malaysians football league…

My 2nd Year team already not in race for champion, but we were chasing for a mid-table 4th place out of 8 teams…

And our final game ended up so interesting and exciting… and we won 4-2 against our opponent named TBB which was quite good also… This was the first game where we managed to score more than 2 goals and also win so beautifully…

So, as conclusion, we played a total of 7 games and the final result was 3 wins, 2 draws, 2 lose, 9 goals, conceded 9 goals and achieve our target to be rank no.4... 2 lose were against top 2 teams so not much complain…

Here is our team picture:

Line-up:
(2nd row from left)
Aful, defender, 3rd year
ME! midfielder
Sofwan, defender
Ivan, forward
Fong, forward/2nd goal keeper
Chong, striker, 5th year
Maher, defender
Satheesh, manager

(1st row from left)
Yadie, midfielder
Nadzrul, forward
Ezzuan, defender
Tih Shyang, goalkeeper, 1st year
Aliff, midfielder, 3rd year
Safwan (pokwe), midfielder

We are using club system here, so a team can comprise of players from different batches… but our team main purpose is to form a team with mostly 2nd year players, and we recruit 4 players who are not in 2nd year…

Picture where players were greeting each other before kick-off:

Few scenes in the match today:

Our team trying to attack from a corner

Preparing to attack from Nadzul's throw in... can see me running from left rite...hehe...

I truly enjoyed my first season for playing in this league, though I think I’m not performing good enough (got an assist only and never score) and I’m not really adapt to play on a smaller court yet… I really miss those days when we played on Jit Sin’s large field with my old buddies almost every evening…

And my opinion about our team is that, though we are clearly not as technically-gifted as most of the teams, but we are the most united and dedicated team and in the end, we ‘broke people’s glasses’ as before the season, our team was expected to be a team to ‘dibelasah’… Besides, another important point is the strong support for us from supporters, especially everyone from our badge… Supporters always give extra power for a team…Thank you!

That’s all for this season… Our performance of this season, especially the final game seems like promising more to come in next season…

So, that’s what we did during weekend for past 7 weeks…This football league is a major event for Malaysians here… Every week, everyone gathers at the court to enjoy exciting games and meeting with friends… Most of time there will be students selling some food and drinks too…

Oh ya, 2nd year girls will be doing a Pizza Party for us in the end of this month as we manage to achieve their target before the season by winning at least 3 games… Anticipating for their self-bake pizza…hehe…

Looks like recently my blog always got topics about football… hope my blog readers won’t too sien la… because for me, NO MUSIC NO LIFE, NO FOOTBALL NO LIFE, NO INTERNET NO LIFE TOO…hehehe…

01 May 2008

Gosh! It's May!

1st of May.. Labour Day… short break… Yes!

When day by day we went through the same routine, and suddenly there is a short break for us to temporarily stop repeating what we have to do, it feels good…

Today went to have a boat ride along Volga River with my classmates… Not bad… Quite a fresh and special experience as it was my first time to sail and enjoy the scenery of both banks of Volga River, the longest river in Europe…

Should say that, after quite a long time, I had an interesting outing…
If possible, I will only post some pictures of this outing when I get them la…

Btw… What’s so interesting bout a game calls DoTa har?? Seems like whole world also crazy of it…and it’s same here too… Every weekend or any break, many people will be staring on laptop screen just for DoTa games… Anyway, I never have interest in all those strategy games lar… So, still stick to Football Manager as my favourite game… hehe…

Well, Manchester United is through to the grand final of this season’s European Champions League! We have waited for 9 years... and welcome Man Utd to Russia as the final will be in Moscow… but none of my business also la… can’t go there to watch also…

It’s late at night… but when it’s holiday, I tend to feel reluctant to sleep… The night without any burden is so peaceful and enjoyable to freely do what I wish to do…

27 April 2008

Live on with Hope

This April gives a sense that it is passing so damn fast… All in a sudden, we are reaching end of the month… and spring season is always beautiful with not-too-warm-not-too-cold nice weather, plus no more hassle on clothing before going out…

This recent time seems quite relaxing… Next weekend got Labour Day holiday and we will be having 3-day off (but Sunday has replacement class pulak) then the next weekend have another 3-day off again due to 9 May which is Victory Day in Russia…

Don’t know what I am going to do yet during that precious short break… but for sure must appreciate them very much… Tired and bored of everything la…

Recently, my life is full of football topics again…yeah, again… In spite of our own football league which so far our 2nd year team is performing ok, though not among the title challengers d, but we are not in relegation zone also… haha…

Then, there is topic about Manchester United… I got the chance to watch live Champions League matches here, though TV here never show league match ady… So, hottest match recently of course is Man Utd vs Barcelona in semi final…

Just now unfortunately Man Utd lost against Chelsea in Premier Leagu… and seems the whole world is thinking that Man Utd has lost the title… aiks… come on, we are still on the top of the table, and we are holding great advantage on goal difference too… Just continue to have faith and hope, as Man Utd always define the real meaning of hope and miracles…

Anyway, I found that I have lost something in watching football here… maybe that something is called true passion and true support… Seems like no people around here support Man Utd with true heart, or should be label as Glory Hunter… when Man Utd on top form, everyone glorify them like heaven, then when in down time, criticise like hell as they are actually anti-Man Utd… Please la, if one call oneself as supporter for a team, then be a real supporter whenever ups and downs, but not fickle fans…

Btw, most of friends who are studying in local uni are beginning to have their long holidays right… and those who are in singapore uni are going to have holidays soon also… Happy Holidays ya… but my holidays time is so stupid… by the time I'm back to Malaysia, everyone have already finished their holidays and have to back to uni… Means that any class or badge’s gathering and activities during their holidays, I have to miss again as last year la…

Life is always about gain and loses though…

18 April 2008

Escapeless...

I realize that everyday my life in this hostel is just mainly spending most of time in my room, at this small table and space of mine, facing this square square laptop’s screen and wandering aimlessly to the world wide web through this little screen…then only after some time, forcing myself to open the books and struggling to study them for the sake of tomorrow’s classes… and this cycle goes on and on and on in the same way…

And then everyday rushing from one place to another place… facing same group of people but still feeling there is an invisible distance with them… and enduring same dull yet less productive classes…

Initially, I thought the study method and system here would be more creative and lively, but time after time it seems that here is just as worse as Malaysia…When we are trying to achieve the necessity of current life which is marks of all kinds of exams and tests, we lose ourselves, lose creativity and bravery to try, but just go for the safest way, apply only what is demanded by scheme, memorizing like hell and after that, get a feel of emptiness…

Most lecturers here just give a list of questions for self-study…and then we prepare the notes ourselves and present or answer them in the next class… After all, they never give explanation and even worse, we never know whether our answers and concepts are actually correct or not… In the end, people who study here may tend to think that what they know is everytime absolutely correct and if uncontrol, they might become boastful and over confident…

Some teachers’ English standards are just poor and it seems that they never get and understand what we answer to them… To impress them and make them to think that your answer is correct and you are ‘smart’, the only way is by talking English very fast, fluently and confidently, even though you crap till Holland or anywhere else la… Therefore, in short, it means that you have to be FAKE… fake in pretending that you are so confident even though you actually don’t know the exact answer or anything…

Eventually, I have to adapt and force myself to go into this kind of style too, just for the necessity of life, but not the desire of life… But it really just gives an empty feeling in the end as if we actually know nothing…

Nevertheless, knowledge and skills determines the standard of any person in any field, but not the mark or grade that come from nothing in classes… But when we can have neither both of them nor the first one which apparently is most important, our only choice is to hold on to the latter one which leaves least-but-better-than-none satisfaction to us…

Somehow, people tend to search for the true life to them when reach a particular stage of life… But environment always set a limit to people’s pure desire of life…

After all, I can’t change anything and can’t escape from this either…
I still have to work hard in the best possible way…

Life & Tag...

Got little thing to mention first... Due to daylight saving system, from today (Sunday) onwards, our time here will be changed to GMT +4 again... which mean time difference between here and Malaysia & Singapore is 4 hours now, 3 hours with Indonesia, and the other places, pls count yourself if you wish to know:)

Rather high a bit at this late night time...Don’t know why... Maybe it’s another weekend time... another Sunday is coming and also the time for our next round of football league... Involve in the league as player this time give me a different experience of hostel’s Saturday night life... As there are quite many of my floor-mates play for different teams, we like to tease each other and also being boastful of ourselves... They are fake and I feel I’m fake at that time too... haha... it’s just for fun...

This evening I just had a jamuan with my 3 Malaysian groupmates... The chicken rice that we cook was simply awesome... and my salad received good comments also wo... That was actually my first time to do salad... Those who could only see said it seem like KFC salad, those who ate said it taste like KFC salad... So, in conclusion, ‘it looks like KFC salad, taste like KFC salad, but it’s not KFC salad’...

Long time never takes picture of our self-made food... so show one here this time la...

It's true that we cooked all these by ourselves (except drinks la)... something I never think of I'm able to do that before coming to study here... but now it's part of our life...

Sorry if I seem like weird for all these craps... Perhaps I think instead of keep complaining the life is bored here, I can actually try to look for some interesting elements and happiness from small little things that happened around me in life...

28 March 2008

21

Well... No mistake, 3 days ago, it was my 21th birthday... After going through 21 years, one’s thought on life and world are changing with the progress of experience... 21 years, it’s just fast, purely fast... But I came through a lot of great memories, success, happiness, failures, disappointment and everything in life, yet there are still lots for me to endure...

The passed 25 March was great one... In fact, the whole birthday week was great... Again, for all the gifts, dishes and sincere wishes, whether you forgot or remembered in the beginning, or whether you were late or early, I truly appreciate them...

Anyway, talk bout life here recently... Initially I thought this sem would be a really relax and full of free time for me to at least manage this blog more often... Ya, indeed our class time is very much lesser than other sems, but in the end, I involve in some activities which occupied much of my free time also...

First of all, after being asked for long time, I decided to accept the call-up from our uni table tennis team to join their training... But it was not a very nice one for me so far... Last Saturday I joined the uni team training for the first time, but I was the only Malaysian and foreign student in the first team while all the other players are Russians... It’s hard for me to communicate well with them and also hard to understand the trainers’ instructions... Anyway, I will continue to give it a try for some time then only see how la... The chance to compete in Russian Uni level tournament is still very tempting...

Other than that, now the hottest topic here is the launch of another spring season of VSMU Malaysian 9-man Football League on last Sunday... and most important is, this is the first time I involve as player in the league... Our 2nd year badge decides to form our own team to compete in the league this season, so I also join la... So, the players of this team are mainly from 2nd year with addition of few players from other badges... But most important is the friendship spirit of ours in the team... and the league here is quite pro one leh, we got training for several times in a week...

Last Sunday was our first league match, against runners-up of last autumn season, and we banged a shock by winning the match! Thanks to a brace from Nadzul and also the dedicated defensive teamwork... We are just an average team and it is quite hard to win even a game in this league actually... Before this got teams couldn’t win any game in a season or even lost all the games... So it was a special result for me to win my first game... haha... Hopefully we can get another good result in our next game this Sunday la...

Anyway, I’m not good in playing football la... Good in watching nia... but I play this time just to support the idea of forming a team with our badge friends as core... and now becoming older and older ady wo, I should appreciate the ability to run freely before the time when body can’t follow my intention already...

Ok...life here is still boring as usual... Those non-academic activities are the little things to spark our life up here... and the weather here are warmer and warmer d, near to extent of hot soon...

15 March...
10 more days to go for another benchmark in my life...
3 n half months to go for the time to fly back home!

Brief Thought

It has been quite a long time since I last craved something here…something which is called a piece of crapppp…

The past Saturday which was 8 March was indeed a great big day… Talked something closely related to my life first… It was Women’s Day and this day was an important one here… It was public holiday in Russia and our university announced an extra half day break on Friday… So that’s mean actually I was having 3-day break last weekend… Russians have the tradition of giving flowers to females on this Women's Day…Lots of various flowers sold along the road when this festival was stepping in…

So… 8 March of this year was a historical day for Malaysia also right… First time in my life that my beloved Penang will be under government formed by parties other than BN… This election’s result was quite a big shock and nothing less than truly exciting… With opposition parties manage to close up the gap with BN then only will give enough stress and guidance on BN government, plus the election result in future will be more interesting and anticipating…

Election result should be unpredictable than only can attract Malaysians to follow development of nation’s politic ma… Let say last time F1 everytime also Michael Schumacher won then that game lost its excitement ady… Table Tennis tournaments all also dominated by China then nobody has interest to follow the game ady, so do I nowadays… So, if each time election no need to see also knows BN would get big win then nobody wants to pay attention to election and politics ady… People always love excitement… That’s why the result of this election not only can ensure BN will get a tighter guidance from opposition, but also able to improve people’s awareness of current issues…

Still remember the last election before this recent one was in 2004 when I was in form 5… and now the latest one just took place… 4 years, it was fast and I had endured different life experiences from Jit Sin till Russia today…

8 March of this year had proved to be a day of shocks… Manchester United lost their FA cup match against Portsmouth which meant they are eliminated out of this competition for this season… The game was held at Old Trafford and the referee who was very controversial that evening was the same match official, Martin Atkinson, when I watched Man Utd vs Portsmouth league game live in OT… The match was largely similar to the one I watched in Old Trafford but the result was different, to a very disappointing one… That’s gone another dream of treble… The last and only Treble Miracle was far in 1999… 9 years till today and everything seem still fresh in my mind…but time really flies…

Btw, senior leaders of VSMU Malaysian sports team have decided not to send team and take part in Nizhny Malaysian Games this year as it will be held with less than 1 month to our final exams… Quite disappointed as no chance to visit Zhuan anytime soon but feel a bit glad too due to reduced training and less tiredness since we are not competing this time… Besides, I have to return to Malaysia early in July right after the final exams… So, no more traveling for this coming time… but life goes on and hope for a wonderful holidays back in my lovely country…

Want to remind Russia that pls realise and understand that foreign students and people bring tonnes of money to here and thus bring development in terms of intrastructure to this country, particularly Volgograd... If not, today's Russia must be still in much deeper nostalgia of their war histories in old time, their powerful force against USA during Cold War period and their pride of producing first ever astronaut in the world but Russia will be millions times more ulu than what they have currently though they are not developed at all now also... Therefore, show some if not full respects to foreigners... Russia's always sucks, but enough means enough, enough is enough...

That’s all for this time…To Malaysia, wish You all the best after Malaysians have decided your future in 5 years… To DAP, make the people proud and most importantly, don’t ruin our beautiful Penang!

England-ed – London part

Day 5 (1/2/2008) – LONDON:
First day of February, it was time to treasure London, one of the world’s most famous cities…

So… football came first again…

After settling check-in to hostel, I went to Arsenal FC new stadium, Emirates Stadium… but unfortunately mana tau Arsenal only did 2 tour per day and I missed both already when I reached… and I get to know the next day tour schedule also not suit with our traveling plan… So have to give up taking a tour into the stadium d la… In the end, didn’t buy ticket to go in their museum… Arsenal only wat… stupid la… one day 2 tour nia… like so confident sure don’t have many visitors… but a bit disappointed also leh as didn’t have chance to have a clear look of this new stadium… After having some time in their All Arsenal Store, I left the Emirates Stadium and headed to Stamford Bridge, Chelsea FC stadium…

Emirates Stadium

This time Chelsea is much better…every hour got a tour… Though Chelsea won over Man Utd to get Premier League title twice before last season, but what can I say bout their stadium and service is they were truly amazing! The stadium look great though quite small, their ‘behind the scene’ facilities were very good, especially their home team changing room, I think even better and much classy than Old Trafford… But the best part was the tour guide was fantastic! This was the only stadium tour that tour guide brought us into good interaction between him and visitors… This was also the only tour (except Old Trafford) that I dare to admit that I’m Man Utd fans and the tour guide still serve us nicely… I truly enjoyed Stamford Bridge’s tour… Chelsea has gained mark in my mind d la, plus nowadays they are not Man Utd strong contender ady also :)

Stamford Bridge

In the evening, we went to London Eye and London Bridge… The wind at that night was very strong, so we didn’t spend too much time outside…

Day 6 (2/2/2008) – LONDON:

London City View

In the morning, we went to Tower Bridge, one of the greatest trademarks of London… Beside the Tower Bridge, it was Tower of London, which is one of the world heritages… Didn’t go in to visit Tower of London but took the exhibition trip of Tower Bridge… View of River Thames from Tower Bridge was very very beautiful…

Then, we dropped by at St Paul Cathedral a while… After that, strolling in the streets around the city before reaching Oxford Road… Oxford Road can be described as ‘upgraded Petaling Street’… so many foreigners were here and also various kinds of souvenirs’ shops…

In the evening, went to see Royal Albert Hall… Royal College of Music where we took their music examination for piano, musical theory etc was located somewhere there… but I missed the small road heading to that college and it was too late to turn back ady… Haih… wasted la couldn’t have a real look of the college that certifies my Grade 8 achievement… Aiks…

National History Museum was located somewhere there also… It seemed very large and interesting… But that time late ady…so didn’t go in to pay a visit too…

Day 7 (3/2/2008) – LONDON:
This was the final day of our stay in England… our flight was in the evening, so that mean we had only a morning to continue exploring London…

First of all, we went to Buckingham Palace… so damn big crowd there as it was the time for Changing of Guard ceremony… so lucky la us as we didn’t know the time of that ceremony before… but damn many visitors at there la and didn’t stay too long…

Then, had some time at St James Park which was beside Buckingham Palace before heading to Westminister Abbey… Westminister Abbey is a large church and traditional palace coronation and burial site of English monarchs…

Then, went to Westminister Bridge where Big Ben and House of Parliament were situated there…

After that, back to hostel to get the luggage ready and move on Gatwick Airport… It was time to end my England trip…

Some final words:
3 days in London was not enough at all… I think I just managed to cover about 50% only… Skipped lots of museums, even the famous Madame Tussauds Wax Museum have to skip also, then also Greenwich and some other else…

Anyway, it was a great chance to have a real look of England… Most satisfying was I had visited 5 football stadiums which I could only see them from TV before and of course that memorable live football match in Old Trafford…

In short, England was truly fantastic and wonderful, let alone the fact that everything there was expensive… ;)

Finally, hope you all enjoy my brief lousy report and also pictures… Wish that one day you will have chance to step on the land of England too, it’s just a matter of time…

17 February 2008

England-ed

Well… finally I manage to force myself back here… Time still flies… New sem has begun for 1 week already… According to seniors, this sem is among the most relax sem out of our 6 years here… Looking on the time table, not very pack also la…

Btw, Happy Chinese New Year! Though it’s a bit too late, but Chinese celebrates for 15 days right… That’s mean we are actually still in the middle of this festival leh… Anyway, not much special celebration here… This festival is fading away from my life already…

But I got a good ang-pau also la actually… During our winter break, I went to travel in England and experienced lots of wonderful time there… England is indeed a very great country. But everything was expensive there…

I decided to upload my photo to web album instead of posting at here… But I will write a little brief trip report to explain what we did everyday…

Before I kick off, here’s a reminder. It seems like we took quite a lot of pictures about football stadiums… Can’t help la… we were just too excited every time when we stepped into the stadium… But I arranged those stadium photos to different album, so if you guys not fancy of football, just skip it and view the pictures around the city ya…

26 January 2008 – Depart from Volgograd:
First of all, wanna tell on how we get to England… I went with Boon Ping… Just 2 of us… Actually travel with less people has some benefits, such as no need wait too long for each other to get ready and less trouble when need to make decision, but sometimes it was quite sien also la…

When flying to England, actually there were 5 people together in my trip… The other 3 were our malay friends, Sofwan, Ramdan and Yadie who took the same flight as us to London and then they flied to Ireland to have their vacation there…

We took express bus from Volgograd to Moscow which took about 16 hours…

Bus to Moscow

27 January 2008 – Flying to London
We reached Moscow Domodedovo International Airport in the morning…

The airline we took was Norweigian Air Shuttle. It is a European low-cost carrier that none of people here took before, I never heard bout this airline before too, but it was cheap, so just gave it a try. Our air fare was about RM900 sth for 2 way ticket… The flight was exactly like our Air Asia ( or should be say Air Asia operates exactly like them).

From Moscow, we need to transit in Norway Oslo Gardermoen Airport which we need to wait 4 hours there… Good also as we had the opportunity to hand around and shop at the airport… Heard that this Gardermoen Airport has the largest duty free shop area in Europe...

Few pictures at Oslo Gardermoen Airport:

Inside the flight:

LONDON, Here I Come!

Then, we continued our journey to fly to London Gatwick Airport and we reached in the evening.
Later, we took National Express bus from airport to London Victoria Coach Station and took another National Express bus to Manchester at 1am. The journey took about 6 hours.
So, the next day was the beginning of our trip in England.

Day 1 (28/1/2008) – MANCHESTER:
In the morning, we reached Manchester Coach Station. After finding our hostel and drop our luggage in the luggage room there, we began our treasure of Manchester.

The first spot was Manchester Sportcity which was the main venue of Manchester Commonwealth Games 2002. Current Manchester City stadium, City of Manchester Stadium is located there. As when the time we reached the stadium, it still had 2 hour more for the next stadium tour, so we decided not to wait but took a short stadium + museum tour. Short stadium tour means without visiting the staff and player rooms or so-called behind the scene. This was the first time I stepped into a stadium of English Premier League. That feeling was absolutely amazing.

In the evening, we went to Manchester’s China Town. There were lots of Chinese shops and restaurants along the street.

Then, we went to city centre to see Wheel of Manchester which was something like our Eye of Malaysia. Didn’t go up coz very expensive la…

After that, we did window shopping in the shopping malls there before going back to hostel to call it a day.

Day 2 (29/1/2008) – MANCHESTER:
I think to most people, the word ‘Manchester United’ will be among the first appear in mind when talking bout Manchester right… and their stadium, Old Trafford had long been my dream destination… Of course I would never forget to go there… So, this morning, we went to accomplish our dream…

Old Trafford is actually located quite far from city centre… The place around the stadium was quite ‘ulu’… And that made the stadium so outstanding at that area la…

The museum and stadium tour of Old Trafford took place every half an hour and looked like every session also got visitors to join… Old Trafford has become one of Manchester’s landmarks already, some more this is the home of world most famous football club right... haha…

Everything was fantastic and amazing here… The museum was much larger than Manchester City’s one as Man Utd won so much of trophies in their history…
We spent for about 5 hours there, including the stadium tour, visit the museum and shopping in Megastore… Half day had spent at Old Trafford…

In the evening, we just hung around in the city, sometimes went in the shops that attracted us… I really enjoyed the pretty night scene of Manchester…

Day 3 (30/1/2008) – MANCHESTER:
Since the morning, we explored the city centre… There were various historical buildings around there...

We went in the Manchester Art Gallery, mainly because it’s free entry and we wanted to avoid the windy climate outside…

We had been eating simple since coming to Manchester, so since this was the final day of our stay in Manchester, we decided to have a big meal… We went to China Town to have chinese food buffet which was 6 pound for each person…

Then, it was the time for the most important moment and highlight of all highlights! Heading to Old Trafford stadium again for the match between Manchester United vs Portsmouth…. The match was really great and the atmosphere of watching a live football match in The Theater of Dreams was truly fantastic… Words couldn’t really explain everything I saw and felt there…

The match ended with Manchester United won 2-0… where Christiano Ronaldo scored both the goals; one of them was described as the best free kick in the history of Premier League…

(The match photos are included in the Old Trafford album)

Day 4 (31/1/2008) – LIVERPOOL:
Today, we went to Liverpool which is 1 hour bus journey time from Manchester…

First spot of our Liverpool journey was Anfield Stadium, the home of Liverpool Football Club… It was one of the historical stadiums in English football history… But I had to say that the service of their staff was worst, especially keep on cursing on fierce rivals, particularly Man Utd… the stadium looked lousy too if compare to other top teams’ stadiums too…

Then, we moved on to River Merseyside… Enjoyed the view along the river… Then went to Albert Dock which is located along the river… The Beatles’ Story museum was situated there… at first thought wanna pay it a visit, but then the entrance fee was very expensive so we gave up the plan…

After that, we went in Merseyside Maritime Museum which was quite interesting, got some displays on famous ships that have links with Liverpool, including Titanic… Then, we also went to TATE Art Gallery before ending our 1-day trip in Liverpool and returned to Manchester for the midnight express bus to London to continue our journey…

I not yet upload the pictures in London… So I will post them later… Just wait ya… Coz even I myself don’t know when I will have mood to start and finish doing it… :)
