On Memorial Day we have two very special traditions. The first involves a parade in the town where Greg grew up. For years his family has been going and we are keeping it up for Jett. Last year he slept through the whole thing, but this year he got a front row seat for all the action. Greg's mom would always time the parade (it usually only lasted about half and hour), but this year it set a new record, 45 minutes.

Of course, what is a parade without a donkey pulling a wagon with kids. Mostly Jarrett just sat back and watched everything go by, until the tractors and cars came through. He got excited and would point and clap...he made Daddy very proud:)
The second part of our Memorial Day tradition is with Natalie's family. Her Grandpa Snider has owned a lake cottage for 36 years, so the tradition is that everyone goes up to the lake and gets everything ready for the summer and puts the "toys" in the water.
One of the many game traditions that we enjoy is trying to catch the frisbee. Usually an Uncle will stand on the pier and throw the frisbee and then it's all for one with whomever catches it. At least one person always falls (or gets shoved) into the water. There is also ball tag, which Natalie gave up years ago when she was it for about half an hour. The cottage is a really special place for Natalie and her family. Growing up they were there about every weekend. There are wonderful memories of times with her Dad and have created a closeness with her cousins. We are hoping that we can create some of those memories for Jarrett too.
