girlie time

rich and i both had the week off before Christmas and enjoyed every minute of it. i decided it was the perfect opportunity for sallie and myself to have a little girl time. we watched her very first movie at the movie theatre and i was so amazed at how well we did. of course we had tons of snacks keeping us busy, but we watched the entire show, tangled. it was precious!

we also spent a little time at the nail salon. fayetteville has the most adorable nail salon just for the girliest of girls. they stay busy with birthday parties but we were able to make an appointment for a little christmas color on our nails! about 6 months ago, sallie would have nothing to do with paint on her nails, but now she loves it. green and red polka dots was our festive choice.

she is really so much fun and keeps me laughing all day long! she wakes up talking and doesn't stop until her head hits the pillow. she loves her ( "doollies") her mini polly pocket dolls and carries them around with her everywhere. she is totally in to princesses and will watch beauty and the beast (she loves the part when the beast turns in to a "daddy" she calls all husbands and princes, a daddy.), tinkerbelle, princess and the frog, cinderella, and snow white over and over and over. she loves to play dress up and wear her high healed slippers.

she loves to be around people and has so much fun wherever she is. i'll admit, she can get a little hyper at times especially when she is tired, but i will take that because such a happy girl.

she loves brocolli, noni cheese, fruit, smoothies, candy (any kind that daddy has at the time), is learning how to chew gum without swallowing it, pizza, hot dogs and nuggets, and french fries.

if you say thank you she will say your welcome, she asks her dad when she awakens in the mornings if it is too early (simply because there were a few 5:15am mornings), and says cheese every time you pull out the camera. gosh, we love our little girl.

big girl bed

i can't believe it, but we have graduated to the toddler bed. on sunday afternoon, we decided to go ahead and convert sallie's crib to a toddler bed. partially because she will soon move to a double bed and partially because my growing belly forces me to dump her in her crib once she is asleep at night. i am sure we probably shouldn't still be rocking her to sleep, but rich and i both look forward to that time every evening. once daddy completed the new set up. sallie said "are you done daddy" he said yes. she jumped in gave him hugs and kisses and fell asleep in 10 minutes. we will see how long that lasts, bu i must say, i was pretty impresses.

our very first gingerbread house

we got together with our community group for a little christmas fun! we enjoyed a yummy dinner and then began work on our masterpieces. the dodson's, the morris', and the mathis'....what a great evening!

this is such a great picture of my 27 week pregnant self, i know.....but it was so sweet how we worked together..... i, not being crafty at all, and sallie, who just wanted to eat the candy. we did manage to complete the project. i would add the icing and sallie would stick on the candy. it was pretty cute. dad, well he was picking up the gum drops off the floor.

tadah!

its the most wonderful time of the year

i have always loved this time of year........the traditions, the memories, the smells, the presents, the shopping, the time with family and friends, the celebrations, the cold weather, reflecting on what happened so long ago and why we celebrate the season. but i have to tell you, our little angel has brought on an entire new meaning. i smile more, laugh more, am more thankful, and blessed than i could have ever imagined. although we love to sit on the couch as a family and watch mickey mouse christmas and even its a wonderful life (sallie watched the entire show and calls it daddy's favorite) , we will continue to celebrate the birth of Jesus and understand in more detail than ever what all He has done for us, we are so amazed!!

here are a few pictures of our December. from train rides to cocoa and pony rides to santa's lap, we have had so much fun!

all aboard.....we boarded an early 1900's train and road from springdale to rogers, sang christmas carols and even talked to santa.

sallie and her daddy

the christmas train was a special fundraiser, complete, with hot chocolate and pony rides.....haven't really found much that she is scared to do just yet!

loving on santa......."sallie what would you like santa to bring you" "butterfly wings" she has wanted them for a month and a half and this is always her answer. lets just hope santa has time to get them made.

pap, gg, and sallie on the train ride

we also made it down to the square in fayettevile for the annual lighting of the ozarks parade. we were bundled up and were pretty far away, but i think all we really needed to see was mickey, and we did!!

and the tree is decorated....if you look closely you can see most of the ornaments are hanging from the same branch, i just couldn't bring myself to move them. it makes me smile every time i look at tree.
