Halloween at last!

Seriously, so much candy!
The Boy's pumpkins. Benjamin's is on the left and Britton's is on the right. He carved his by himself!

It's seems like we've been living Halloween for days now. The boys went trunk-or-treating over the weekend the today we had Britton's Halloween party at school, followed by trick-or-treating at Dustin's work. I have never seen the boys get so much candy at one time. Dustin's work trick-or-treating was amazing. The kids had a great time. But the night was still young! Next we headed to my dad's house for dinner and more trick-or-treating where the boys got even more candy! I really don't know what we're going to do with it all. We have it combined into one big pile. The kids are finally in bed, with their teeth freshly brushed. I am ready for Halloween to be over. I love November and Thanksgiving so I'm happy to see October come to an end. Let the Holiday season begin!

Busy weekend!

Britton in action-He made the most baskets for his team

We had a very busy weekend. Our week was crazy too. Britton finished soccer this week and his team came in 3rd place in the tournament. Watching Britton in soccer this year was amazing! He is so good. His whole team improved so much this year. They're all returning in the spring as well so we can keep the same team. This weekend Britton had his first basketball game. He transitioned from one sport to another with no problem. He is excellent at basketball too. His team is great. He played with several of the players last year as well, and they all go to the same school. His team did a great job of passing the ball. They won their first game. We are constantly amazed at how Britton always knows where to be. He's a natural.

Friday night was also our annual adult Halloween costume party. We didn't have such great costumes. Dustin and I were pioneers. We had a great time though, and the kids thought they were the luckiest kids in the world because they got to go to a church trunk or treat and spend the night with Grandma and Grandpa. This was Benjamin's first sleep over and he was pretty excited. They stayed up late carving pumpkins and woke up bright and early to eat pancakes, eggs, and bacon. Oh, and to top it all of, we got our house re-painted today! It looks great!

Hillbilly Harvest

Dustin kicking some can in the pie eating contest
The boys with their fish, Alex and Goldy. Benjamin said "Mom, I want "Goldy" to sleep in my bed with me!" We also warned them that the goldfish might not live very long so Benjamin kept saying in the back seat "Goldy! Don't Die!"

Tonight was our church activity and we had a Hillbilly Harvest. They served sloppy joes and the families provided hillbilly sides and deserts. It was a lot of fun. Dustin won a pie eating contest and the boys each caught their own goldfish by hillbilly hand fishing!

Yesterday was a busy day. We started out with Benjamin's soccer game, where he scored 4 goals! Later in the afternoon we went to Britton's soccer game where his team made a nice come back and won. Next it was time for the pumpkin patch! Grandam Shirley and Grandpa Kurt and Aunt Shel and her kids joined us as well. We had a great time. The kids all got to chose a couple activities and go in the corn maze. Grandpa also bought all the kids mini donuts. By the time the sun went down and we were still lost in the corn maze, Benjamin was asking to go to bed so we found our way out and headed home.

More Soccer

He's just such a good looking boy! He is so focused

Benjer's game was early in the morning so he was dressed for cold weather

This is Benjamin's ready position. He stands like this before each kick-off

We've had a busy couple of weeks, but not many pictures. This week we were able to get new carpet in our family room, which it desperately needed! It looks so good and the room looks great. We have also loved going to the boy's soccer games. They have both improved so much this year. Benjamin is doing so well and thinks he's a super star. Britton is a great team player and seems to always know where to go and where to pass the ball. He made 4 goals in today's game and Benjamin made two!
