Pumpkin Patch

Today was Benjamin's last soccer game. Benjamin's team lost all of their games.  Benjamin made one of the only goals made this season too.  The kids all tried really hard and had a great time anyway.  Britton has one more game to go.  After soccer was finished, we went to The Farmstead. Each of the boys had a favorite part.  Britton liked the teatherball and would have played it all day long if he could.  Benjamin's favorite part was the kid play area with the slides. He also liked the corn maze.  Caden's favorite part was the animals.  He loved looking at them.  It was the perfect day for being at the pumpkin patch. It was nice and warm.
Benjamin on the jumping pillow. I don't think the other boys even went on the pillow.  Caden and Britton didn't want to.

Caden was so tired at this point.  Once the train got moving he started waving and liked it though.

Proof that I went to the Farmstead too.

My husband the mouser...oh, and the hunter

For the last week or so we have had a mouse in our pantry.  I first saw it staring at me and then called to Dustin and Britton who saw it too.  Britton wanted to keep it as a pet.  I set a couple traps and thought it would be gone.  Not so.  This mouse did not care at all if I saw it running around on our first shelf.  It also didn't care at all that I had set two traps.  I was seriously considering just moving.  And our cat, by the way, was totally not interested.  On Wednesday Dustin was leaving to go hunting.  He came home early to get ready and when he opened the pantry he saw the mouse.  But it turns out, he saw a second mouse as well!  Seriously?  Well, the mouse didn't care that Dustin was watching him so he grabbed a jar and cornered the mouse and caught it in the jar!  He's way better than a cat!  He even texted me a picture of the mouse and then went and released it into a field.  Well, we were one mouse down when Dustin left town.

I was really hoping the second mouse would be caught in one of the traps.  No luck.  We just took the food we wanted out of the pantry at it on the oven and tried not to open the door.  I didn't see it for days but it wasn't caught in any of the traps either.

Well, Dustin came home late last night (Saturday).  He woke me up at about 12:30 and said he had a surprise for me.  He was holding another jar with the second mouse!  As soon as he got home saw the mouse in the pantry and just caught it!  Who needs a cat? I was pretty darn excited.  He went and released it in the field too.  Oh, he also shot a deer while hunting and now it is hanging in our garage.  I must say the mouse catching was the most exciting for me!  Today we cleaned out the pantry  and returned the food to its proper place.  No need to move!
