Camp and Independence Day

This year's 4th of July camping trip was to Upper Payette lake.  We haven't been there since
Britton was 2 months old and it was really nice to be back. My mom and Kurt, my sister and her kids, and my older brother and his kids all joined us.  My mom's cousin John also came.  We had a great time playing games, eating tons of candy, and caught a ton of fish!

Waiting for the fireworks at Lake Cascade

Britton thought it was cold but caden just hopped on in!

Proof that Dustin was with us.
Proof that I was camping too.
Caden was a complete ham!  We was cracking everyone up around us.  That pull up got soaked and Caden abandoned it. I had to run and throw some shorts on him because he was way too excited to be streaking!
Benjamin was the bravest swimmer. He swam out to a big rock and jumped in the water several times.  He just finished his swimming lessons before we left and it really boosted his confidence.

We did our fireworks on July 2nd since we were headed to the mountains. Caden was asleep for the fireworks display.  I love that Benjamin is wearing winter fleece pants in 90 degree weather

We usually get our fireworks from Fat City fireworks and know what we want. This year we tried TNT because we got a groupon and we were disappointed on what we got.  We'll be going back to Fat City again next year.  We got a TON of these dinky things in our package of fireworks.

 Sparklers were a hit

There were a lot of fish caught on this trip.  This was Britton's catch

Caden tried "diving" off his own rock. It was very funny
Britton was very hard to get pictures of.  He seemed to never be around. He was always off fishing or playing with cousins.
The cheesiest boy!  He moved his chair into the water and cheesed it up!
Caden got to go fishing with me and my sister and Dustin. He had his own pole but we just let him mess with it. Well, he let out his own line and was trolling and then started getting really mad at his fishing pole. It turns out he had a fish!  He didn't land the fish but we had a pretty good laugh about it because he put his line in the water all by himself.
I got Dustin a motor for our fishing boat for Father's Day.  He took everyone that wanted to go fishing out over the camping trip.  He spent most of the trip in the boat.  He had a great time!
While Caden didn't land the fish from the boat, I also took him fishing off shore.  I cast out his line and then started getting mine ready.  Suddenly, Caden had a fish on the line.  He was so proud of his fish.  He sang to it, and talked to it, and showed everyone back in camp his fish.
Benjamin caught a TON of fish.  These weren't all his but a lot of them were.
Caden and his best buddy, Grandpa!
We had a game where there was a big ball of plastic wrap and packing tape with candy between the layers.  The person next to the person with the ball would roll two die and try to get doubles.  Once they got doubles, they would pass the die on and they would get a turn at trying to get candy out of the ball. It was a hit and very funny to watch!

We always keep scooters in our trailer and they are always a hit

The Cousins.  Lucas, Alex, Jenni, Chris, Cameron, Benjamin, Caden and Benjamin

Caden caught himself too.  He is quite the catch!

Britton's Special Trip with Dad and Grandpa Kurt

Since shortly after Christmas Dustin and I have been planning a deep sea fishing trip on the Oregon Coast for Britton, Dustin and my step-dad, Kurt.  Britton had no idea about it.  One weekend in June I brought him home and Grandpa Kurt was there. We asked Britton if he wanted to go fishing and he said "Yeah!  You always know the answer to that question!"  He thought they were going fishing locally. We told him to get in the car because it would take a while to get there.  Then we told him he was going to the Oregon Coast and he was so excited!  He had a great time, was spoiled rotten, and made a lot of great memories!

 Sea otters are a favorite!

Britton got sea sick. The seas were really rough. I wish I had thought to send dramamine but he has been deep sea fishing before and was fine.  There were a lot more waves this time.  After throwing up, he was good to go again...
This ones going to have to stay sideways. The fishing trip was a success!

Britton loved every second he spend on his trip.  He was so excited to spend time with just dad and Grandpa!
