22 Months!

Wow! I cannot believe that our baby girl is already 22 months!

Some of her current obsessions include:
*Buckles - car seat straps, high chair/booster seat straps - they keep her busy for awhile
*Outside
*Water - any form (pool, gardening hose)

She's also really into trying on our shoes, particularly mommy's because they usually have a little heel. Over the last couple of weeks she's been known to wander into our closet and try on whatever she can get her hands on...princess dresses, here we come!

We are also on the cusp of potty training in our house. Riley is definitely interested in it, but really she just wants to watch and "help" by providing toilet paper and flushing. Beware, if you are at our house and she notices that you might be in the bathroom, you may have a friendly little helper knocking at your door!

Her vocabulary is growing by leaps and bounds. It's so amazing to see her try and put sentences together and answer questions. On our car rides home, I ask her how her day was and what she did - it's so cool when she responds with different things she did! Her newest thing is to say "bess you" whenever someone sneezes! She has also been saying "hold you" quite a bit these days, particularly to mommy (she's teething and just needs some mommy comfort). Oh, how could I forget! Riley now tells us "Iuvu" (I love you) with such enthusiam - it's the sweetest thing ever!

Look's like I need to really get moving on planning a 2nd birthday party!

Great Friends

What a wonderful weekend we had celebrating the upcoming arrival of Courtney's baby girl! It was so great having the girls in town, and Riley had so much fun with them on Friday night. We had been practicing saying all the names of the girls that were here, plus Jennie's baby, Hayes. Tonight as we were trying to get her to wind down before bed, she kept saying everyone's names over and over, as well as "mommy friends" - I love it!

To my wonderful friends, thank you for a much-needed weekend of relaxation and catching up! I miss seeing y'all as much as we used to, but it makes me cherish our time together even more. Y'all are the greatest friends a girl could ask for and I don't know what I would do without you!

Of course I didn't get any pics of us together but I did manage to capture this cute pic of Katharine ("Kafrin") and Riley.

Friends

Just wanted to share a couple of pictures of Riley and her best friend Christopher. These were taken on our way to a birthday party last weekend. Aren't they precious?

Happy Father's Day

We took a quick trip to Arlington to see family and spend Father's Day with Josh's dad. Riley loved playing with her cousins and didn't want to leave! She especially loved riding along in the tractor and looking for and briefly petting the neighborhood cat that my in-laws have taken to. I didn't get a lot of pictures but here are a few.
Hope everyone had a nice Father's Day.

p.s. You might notice that Riley got a haircut. We're still letting it grow but trimmed the bangs as they were constantly hanging in her face! It's her summer 'do!

More Water Fun...

Riley has been having loads of fun with the "wader" lately. Her friends Christopher ("Foffer") and Bella invited her over for some slip 'n slide action Wednesday night. They really enjoyed themselves and even managed to stay hydrated throughout the fun!

Wipeout!

I couldn't resist those cute legs!

Thursday night we celebrated an early Father's Day at my parents house. More water fun included the garden hose and sprinkler mania. Here are a few pics of the fun evening!

I'm starting to sense a theme for this blog...but hey, it's the best way to beat the horrible heat we've been experiencing!

Water Fun!

As Riley and I were pulling into the driveway the other day, she quickly noticed that Josh was watering the grass. As soon as I let her out of her seat and put her down, she ran over to him saying "helpyou, helpyou"...her way of telling him, let me have the water hose! Well, after I ran inside to put some things down and came back, this is what I discovered.
