Announcing...

We are cautiously expecting baby #2, scheduled to make his/her debut towards the end of September! As most of you know, we had a rough year with trying for #2, so we are very hopeful that this is the one! Here is a picture of the babe from my doctor's appointment earlier this week. You can see that he/she is sprawled out nicely, covering the face with a hand (great, I've already got one that doesn't like to have her picture taken!).

Riley seems excited about the prospect of having a little brother or sister. Just yesterday in the car on the way home, she exclaimed to me that she wanted to name her baby sister Abby (as in Abby Cadabby from Sesame Street)! When I asked what she would like to name a brother if she had one, she also exclaimed Abby! It's a good thing she's not in charge of picking the name.

I've been feeling really good with this pregnancy...just a few weeks of sickness and the unavoidable exhaustion. Time seemed to creep by the first couple of months, but now I'm hopeful that it will "fly by" as it will help ease my nerves!

Stay tuned for more updates about this new addition to our family!

Fun with Friends

Riley and I spent a few hours with our friends on Sunday and had such a great time! She is a big fan of their daughter, Caroline, who is six months old and sweet as can be! Riley affectionately refers to her as "baby Carowine" and is still talking about her.

Here are some pictures we captured during our time together.

Riley prepping Caroline for pictures!

Love this one! C's got a tight grip on R's dress, and the look R is giving me is priceless!

She is such a doll...love those cheeks!!

Thanks for a fun time, Myers family! We hope to do it again soon!

Stock Show Fun

We went to the Stock Show last month with our good friends Adam, Kristina and their son Carter (Riley's bff from school) and I completely forgot to post about it. Here are some highlights from the fun:

How cute are they? By the way, the arm move was totally unpromted!

The petting zoo...a big hit although some of the animals were a little hungry (aka agressive)! Riley especially loved the smaller animals that were curled up in the hay; she would get down on the ground right next to them and say hi!
Waving hi!

(Huge difference from last year!)
Riding the ponies...Riley still talks about her horse Twinkie! I never could get a decent picture b/c she was intently focused on her horse!

The tractors - probably the biggest hit, especially for Carter!

Music Time!

Riley has music at school every other week and she really looks forward to it! As mentioned before, she really enjoys being the teacher, and it's pretty evident when she has "music time". She pretends to be the music teacher and just takes over. I finally managed to capture some of this entertainment on video!

Before I Forget

I wanted to record this funny memory from yesterday.

I picked Riley up from my parents' house and as we were pulling out of the driveway, she sees my mom bent over some flower pots. She asked what Granny was doing, and when I told her she was pulling weeds, her response was:

"Granny's such a good girl!"

Love this kid!
