Overheard

Here is a tidbit from yesterday's conversation on our way home.

Me: "Riley, did you have a good day?"

R: "I was so mad today."

Me (chuckling): "What made you mad today?"

R: "Baby Faith was being loud and she hurt my ears!"

p.s. Baby Faith is only 10 months old!

This girl continues to make me laugh and show me how fast she really is growing. I love her so much!

Ten on Tuesday

The picture version! I have a lot of random pictures from the last few months that aren't blog-worthy individually, but manage to fill up a ToT post quite nicely!

My cousin sent me this picture of my mom (far left) and her 2 sisters. I was amazed at how much Riley resembles her in this pic. I can see R making that same face!

Riley has perfected the "get that camera out of my face" lookFirst night in her big girl bed (from March)
Funny story here. We were at a bday party and I volunteered to take Christopher home for the afternoon to give his mom some rest. When she asked Foffer if he wanted to go to Riley's house, he ran as fast as he could to get her shoes and put them on her so we could go! And she happily obliged, little Cinderella! Mom's 60th birthday cake - the picture I really wish I got was the look on Riley's face when Granny pulled Barbie out, without any legs! It was priceless.
Granny bought Riley & Dalton matching outfits and this was the best we could get; Dalton was not being very cooperative.
Love this pic!
Here's an updated belly shot, taken this week at 26 weeks

And of course Riley had to show off the "baby" in her belly too!

Snuggling with new baby Katie. Think she's ready to be a big sis?

Port Aransas

Here's a quick recap of our summer beach trip a couple of weeks ago.

I had a much harder time taking pictures than I did on our trip last October. A lot can change in 8 months, and that includes Riley's fear of the water...or should I say LACK of fear! She loved running into the water and waiting for the waves to come! She often told whoever was following her to "go away, I go by myself". Oh child.

LOVE it when they hold hands...I just think it's the cutest thing!

Nothing like a naked hiney pic!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there! We had a really nice weekend complete with some good quality family time. After nap today, we went over to my parents house for an evening of fun.

To Papa...

Thank you for being the best papa in the world! You spoil me endlessly and let me get away with all kinds of things!

To my wonderful husband...
You are the best father I could have ever imagined for our little girl. My heart feels like it could explode when I watch the two of you together. You are her hero in so many ways and she is so lucky to have you. From chasing after her on the fast car throughout the neighborhood, to having tea parties together, to reading countless bedtime stories each night, you are the best!

Yes, there is a new addition to our living room, nicely located behind Josh's head in the above photo. We're still in negotiations as to the final resting place of this lovely piece. He is so proud of it and spends countless moments staring at "buck". Riley even says goodnight to said buck before heading to bed.

Ten on Tuesday

This should have been posted on Tuesday, but the stomach bug graced our house yesterday afternoon and we spent the evening tending to a sick little girl. Ten on Wednesday will have to do.

It's been awhile since I've posted a ToT, and to be honest, I'm not really sure I have ten worthy things to mention, but I'll give it a whirl.

  1. Our dear friends welcomed a new addition to their family last night. Katherine Lindsey Fuentes was born and we are so thrilled for them!
  2. No, we still haven't decided on a name for the little one. As of now, he's being called Baby Boy.

  3. Actually, that's not completely true. Riley picked out a name last weekend and has been occasionally calling him Bob!

  4. At my 25-week appointment this morning, he is weighing in at 1 lb, 13 oz, up from 14 oz four weeks ago. Grow, baby, grow!

  5. Speaking of growing, so is my belly and every other part of my body. I'll share an updated belly picture soon.

  6. Riley's new room has officially been started. It is pink and she is loving it! We (or I should say Josh) still have a lot of painting left - trim, doors, etc. - but we should have her in her new room soon.

  7. Wicked was AWESOME!! I had no expectations going in and really enjoyed it. Humorous, entertaining, etc.
  8. The forecast this week predicts 100 degree temperatures every day...blah.

  9. I finally managed to capture Riley on video singing her abc's...will post soon. It's pretty entertaining, I must say!

  10. Well, that's all I've got for now...

we're back...

We're back from our fun weekend at the coast and have lots of pictures to share. Too tired to do anything now, so here's a pic to summarize how our weekend went! Will post more details later.

Pool Rats

Any guesses where we spent our weekend?

We were at the pool Friday through Sunday having a grand 'ole time outside. This kid loves the water!! She is so proud of herself with her newfound independence (from the floaties, of course) and wants to spend most of her time in the big pool. Jumping off the side into the pool is a favorite as well as being thrown in the air.

first and last

Wow, what a difference nine months makes! Anyone remember this post? How I was boo-hooing after dropping my baby off at her first day of school? Well, now my baby is finished with her first year of school! Here are some comparison pics of her first and last day of school.

Here's Miss Sassy Pants the morning of her first day...

And here she is with her favorite teacher, Ms. Krystal, on her last day of school.

That was the only picture I could get because she was too busy trying to shoo me out the door so she could play. Is this really the same child who cried when I left her at school that first week??

rainy days + busted lip + happy birthday = memorial day fun

Okay, that was probably the longest title but I felt it really summarized our Memorial Day weekend well! We spent the long weekend at Lake LBJ, and even though there was a lot of rain and a trip to the hospital, fun was definitely had by all! Here's a recap of our trip:

It rained. A lot. We had to be creative in entertaining 2 two year olds. Luckily, Aunt Paige had toys galore, including lots of bubbles.

Granny even got in on the fun (okay, maybe not by choice)!

Since we spent a lot of time indoors, the kids were starting to get a little stir crazy. Unfortunately for Dalton, it sent him to the emergency room. He was running through the house and tripped - three teeth busted through his mouth, thus requiring stitches. Poor guy, but he handled it well. And you would have thought that it would have slowed him down. Not so.

Then the rain finally stopped, the sun came out, and we got on the lake as quick as we could!

And we did a little fishing.

Reeling in the first catch of the day!

"Don't make me touch that fish, Daddy!"

Riley got creative with the bubbles and used them as shampoo.

Lathering up.

She looked like she should have been in one of those Pantene commercials! Wish I had it on video...this kid is so dramatic!

Finally, we celebrated Josh's 31st birthday with some yummy bbq and chocolate cake. The kids even helped make the cake!

"Happy Birthday, Daddy"
