Riley got to go bowling for the first time with her papo and daddy!  She couldn’t wait to get out there and throw the ball all.by.herself.  After a few rounds of one of us helping her push the ball down the lane, she would march up there, turn around, and ask whoever was behind her to back up!

Braden, at six months you are such a joyful and sweet baby.  Your squeals light up a room and your smile is contagious.  You have such a happy demeanor and rarely get upset, even though you are getting new teeth!  You haven’t gotten any new teeth this month but hopefully a new one with break through soon.

You are sleeping much better these days.  You still take two great naps during the day, and sleep mostly through the night, with an early morning “snack” between 4:30 and 5:30.  You don’t always go back to sleep after that feeding, providing lots of extra snuggle time with mom before the others wake up. Mommy calls you her snuggle bug and thinks you give the best kisses, albeit a little slobbery, on our cheeks!

In this last month, your motor skills have been working hard!  You are rolling all over and have started sitting for short periods of time.

You’re always looking for something to grab, and have the tightest little grip!  You especially love to grab your sister’s hair, much to her delight.

Someone found his toes!!

You are sitting in your highchair and are loving food more and more.  The only thing you have vetoed at this point is peas.  You like to suck the food off the spoon, and of course love to stuff your fist in your mouth between bites!

Weight: 18 lbs, 10 oz – 75%

Length: 26.25 in – 45%

Josh’s mom and granny were in town for a visit and I love that we were able to catch a four generation shot.

Someone around here tried squash today and loved it!!

Braden,

You have developed quite the little personality!  We have loved watching you change and learn new things every day. 

At five months, you:

• have your first two teeth, both on the bottom
• have found your voice!  You love to squeal and love to demand attention with your high-pitched sounds
• love to watch your sister, especially when she is being silly.  If she gets close, you always try to grab at her hair!
• have the most kissable cheeks!  When we’re driving in the car, I love to watch your cheeks jiggle when the road is rough!
• are liking tummy time more and more, and usually “swim” ferociously when on your belly
• weigh about 18 pounds
• wear 6-12 months in clothes and size 3 diapers

I was so bad about taking pictures this month…I vow to take many more pictures from now on!

We had a fun afternoon at the stock show a couple of weeks ago.  Braden stayed with Lidia and we took Christopher along with us.

First stop, pony rides!  Riley asked if Twinkie (whom she rode last year) was there; however, ended up with Gem instead…and loved her!
