16 Months

Photobucket

I can't believe that my baby is 16 months! My Jackson Journal is packed away and I haven't been able to write about all the little details for a while. I'm afraid of forgetting the little things, so I wanted to briefly post a few things to help remind myself.
I am really loving this age! Even though Jackson still wants to be held a lot and when he doesn't get what he wants I am really starting to hear about it! I just love seeing his personality come to life, and he is really full of it! He is a lot more confident now with his walking, but confidence doesn't mean stable. He is still a little clumsy and has been taking a lot of falls and getting a lot of bruises, hence the bruise on the side of his head in the pic, Poor guy.
He absolutely loves to be outside. We just couldn't play outside long enough, and he especially loves to be on a "Weee" (AKA swing).
He is starting to be more comfortable being held by other people now that we are around family all the time, and he loves to be in the middle of all the action, but is also independent. We went to a bbq with some friends the other night and he was very interested in what the other kids were doing, he was not clingy to me or Nathan at all, he just went off to play with the other kids and explore the back yard.
He still says "Hi" and "Hi Coco" about 100 times a day, along with a lot of other words and constant jiberish, and whenever I go to the store he yells "Hi" to just about every person he sees. He gets people from across the store to turn around and say "hi" back to him.
There are so many little things I need to write, but am realizing it will become a novel if I do, so I will have to try and remember. I just love my little boy, I can't even stand to be away from him. I think I need to go kiss him right now.

From Big City to Small Town

Many of you already know that our little family has moved from Las Vegas to Idaho. This all came about quite suddenly and completely unexpected. Nathan was all registered to take the Nevada BAR this summer and we were planning on staying in Las Vegas for another couple of years, but with the economy the job that Nathan really wanted in Nevada was having a hiring freeze, and their weren't a lot of prospects. When Nathan's family was in town for his graduation, his mom mentioned an attorney in Blackfoot was looking for a bilingual lawyer to start taking some of his work load and hopefully, eventually take over his firm so that he could retire. We jumped on the opportunity, made a couple trips up there, and Nathan got a job offer that we feel really good about. He starts July 1st, so we immediatley packed up our stuff and came up to Idaho to start looking for a place to live. Nathan is flying to Vegas in a couple of weeks to bring up all our furniture, and then we will officially be out of Las Vegas.
I never thought that I would ever live in Idaho, especially Nathan's home town, but we are both excited to be here, and it feels like the right thing for us. Right now we are going to rent a house in Pocatello to give us some time to look for a house to buy. We will REALLY miss our friends in Las Vegas, but we are so excited to be in a beautiful, smaller and less hectic and hot of a place, and we are happy to be close to our families. It's amazing how quickly things can change!
