Kansas City

Ron had to go to Kansas City to present some financial reports at a conference and since they were paying his way, I decided to tag along with him. We were able to visit many church sites, museums, and saw almost every road around the city. (Our Mom's would be proud)

We spent one day at all the Church sites. Starting at Adam-ondi-ahman.

Then we went to Haun's Mill. There is nothing there anymore, but it was a very pretty area.

Next we went to Far West and saw the corner stones for the temple.

Then we spent some time at Liberty Jail and then the Visitor's center in Independence. We really enjoyed spending the day thinking about what it would have been like to live back during the early days of the church. Their trials were definitely different from ours, but we are so grateful for their example and their sacrifices.

The next day we went to the Harry S. Truman Museum and Library and then we spent the afternoon at a museum called the Steamboat Arabia. It was a fun educational day about the history of the area and the important part Kansas City played in History.
The last day we also visited a few more museums. We went to the Union Station museum, the Hallmark museum and then went and played a little at the College Basketball Hall of Fame experience. We had a great trip, but next time I'm hoping for something a little more tropical with lots more to do.
