Summer Memories

Summer has come and gone so quickly. The leaves are changing and we have even had a couple of cooler days. We were not very good at keeping up over the last few months, so here are a few images of how we spent our time.
We watched Daddy mow the lawn.
Our big windows are a big hit for curious little boys!
Of course, we ate lots of watermelon.
We spent time with our crazy Auntie Erin. (She's not really crazy, she just can't take a straight photo!)
We had lots of fun with our wonderful cousins!
We had good cuddle time with Grandma and her special singing.

Oh and there's our crazy Auntie again, climbing into our little tent!
Evalina is another favorite friend who helped us bake some crazy carrot muffins.
Erin and Elena watched us playing in the water. (We call them the Three Es!)
Splash, splash, splash!! These boys definitely love water!
Dylan, our little dare devil, just wants to jump into the big pool!
Picnics.
Our second trip to Lambert's.
My handsome brothers on our boat trip.

Papa driving the boat and trying to keep up with his grandkids. Good luck!
Fun times!

Swimming in the lake.
Sometimes we're not too sure about Uncle Denny....
We had a great time restoring the barn and we love that our boys were there with us.
Those crazy Merideths... Maybe it just runs in the family!
So many laughs...
And so many stories...
So many wonderful memories!!!

Our Babies are 1 Year Old!

Well, once again we are a little behind on our blog. Let us just tell you that life with two one year olds is verrrry busy!!! Tanner and Dylan are so much fun right now, discovering new things every day. We had a great first birthday with three different celebrations.

Our first started with a great trip to Missouri. First, we spent some time at Table Rock Lake where the boys had their first boat ride.

Dylan was super mellow the entire time.

Then we headed to the farm where we had Merideth Barn Bash 2011. The family all pitched in to work on the barn and make it something we can all be proud of again.

The four youngest in front of the new, beautiful barn.

We celebrated the boys' birthdays early with their own personal cakes.

Tanner is so neat and clean when he eats, especially compared to his brother...

Our messy Dylan. He really enjoys his food!

On the 'real' first birthday, we had a nice quiet breakfast together with just Mom, Dad, Tanner & Dylan.

Mom made special birthday muffins with a candle in each.

It's really hard to believe these guys have been in our lives an entire year already.

Auntie Erin made us our own '1' t-shirts for our special day.

The boys got a new play gym for their birthday and had tons of fun checking it out.

Our very special birthday surprise was meeting our Grandpa & (new!) Grandma Jackson for the very first time. We had a great time getting to know them and splashing around another lake. What a great day!

Lastly, we had a great birthday party with all our friends and family at home.

The new wading pool was a big hit with all the kids!

We also had a fun bug hunt for all the bigger kids. Dobbin is showing off his finds.

We had some great homemade cakes for the boys. They were a joint creation - Grandma, Auntie Erin, Samuel, Merideth and Mom all helped.

The boys had lots of help opening all their fun gifts.

Sweet, sweet Tanner. Our big little boy. He has the sweetest laugh and gives great kisses. We think he is the best snuggler ever.

Dylan is so adventurous and fearless. He laughs all the time and since he started walking, there is truly no stopping him.

The last year has been quite a rollercoaster, but we have enjoyed the ride. We just look at these two beautiful boys and it becomes all worth it. The time has gone by so fast and all we can try to do is enjoy each and every day with our two amazing blessings.

First Beach Trip

Last week we made our first trip with the boys to the beach. We drove (14 hours!) to Panama City Beach, Florida where we spent an entire week with the entire Whitlock family. It was really a great week! We had lots of time to get to know our very special family.

Tanner and Dylan didn't quite love the water, but they did like playing in the sand.

We didn't exactly come home with tans since we mostly stayed in the shade. It was a hot week!

Our 'shipwrecked' babies!

They enjoyed the water this way - no big waves or icky algae.

Such sweet babies...

There were so many loving arms to hold and take care of Tanner and Dylan. Aunt Sandy probably gave them more lovin than anybody else!

Big, strong cousin Chris had fun with them.

Sandy's parents were able to join us for a few days and babysat, so Robert and Danica could go out and have a real adult meal. Thank you!

Cell phones were a big hit! Especially pink ones like Aunt Patti's.

Cousin Collin was great with the babies too and he discovered that he could feed them Fruit Loop treats! Notice the almost broken nose... What's a vacation without a trip to the ER?! We're so glad you are okay!

So much fun!

Maybe not at this moment... Did we mention is was hot? Strollin wasn't the most fun for the guys.

Robert got to spend time with his big sister for the first time in a very long time.

Here is the entire Whitlock clan! Thank you Mark for the great photos!

Art and his three kids together. What a special and memorable Father's Day.

A few of us did make it out fishing one afternoon. Here is our haul. Dean cooked it up fresh that night and it was so delicious. Note: there are so few fish only because there is a two fish per person limit on red snapper. With our fishing expertise, we could have caught many more!

A stowaway on our trip back in. What a beautiful location. Gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. Warm water. Delicious food. And wonderful company.

All in all, a very memorable family vacation.
