My Little Thrill Seeker

OK, so Andy built this jump for the kids (Maddie and AJ) to ride their bikes off of.  We have a long driveway which slopes at a pretty steep decline towards Andy's work shop.  Alex and his friends have fun riding down the slope and off the jump.  Well, yesterday I could tell Lane was dying to give the jump a try.  I had to find something else fun for him to do because the slope is too steep for him on his little bike with training wheels.  He got very mad at me... he wanted to play with the big boys.
Well, after a while I heard the wheels to this little ride-on toy go flying down the concrete driveway.  There is no braking system on this (besides his feet).  I ran outside just in time to see him fly off of the jump (and land it!!)  You should of seen his face!  It was a proud moment for him -- but it scared me to death!  Before I could get down to him he was already headed back to the top of the driveway to do it again!  So, being a responsible Mother,  I ran in and got the camera!!  What else would a good mother do??
He has done this trick over and over and loves it.  I watch him carefully...he flies down, heads off the jump, bounces his way to a safe landing, and then smiles.  At the end of this post you will see a short video of him in action...its pretty funny!

Sorry Mom, don't watch!  :)

Happy Birthday Momsie!

On Sunday we celebrated my Mom's birthday!  I cooked a simple dinner, we ate cake, and played some family games!  I can't say enough wonderful things about this woman!  How lucky am I to live so close and have her in my life?!  Not only in my life but in the lives of my kids.  They adore her!  She does fun projects with them, takes them for ice cream, she finds extra time to read and play games with them, and most importantly they love to snuggle in her big white fluffy bed and watch movies with her!  She really is the perfect Grandma!

I look to my mom for never ending support, advice, love, and friendship.  She can solve any problem, clean any stain,  cook any food, sew any quilt, knit any sweater, tend any time, teach any kid, and watch any Major League baseball game (especially the Red Sox)!  I love you mom!  You make my life complete! Here's to many many more birthdays!  Cheers!

Easter Highlights

What an Easter week it has been!  Alex kicked it off with a party at preschool.  The one-and- only Easter Bunny made an appearance while the kids were collecting eggs!  (Most of the kids had it figured out that it wasn't the "real" Easter Bunny.  It was quite funny!)This is Alex and his friend Drake hanging out at the preschool party!

The next activity was decorating eggs!  The kids LOVED this....the colors, the "magic crayon", the glitter, the stickers, and of course eating at least one egg!

On Friday we rolled the eggs!  We have a tradition of going to the sand hills in Fayette.  The guys build a really cool track for the eggs to follow.   You can see eggs rolling down in the sand ditch.  It is the perfect place for egg rolling!
Madison always has a hard time rolling her eggs....they are way to special for her to just roll down a dirty hill :)  She would roll about two at a time and then run down to the bottom to find them, clean them off, and bring them back up for another roll.
Alex and Kevin watched as the eggs roll by.
Lane got right in to the action.  Here he is asking Cami if she approves of his choice of egg to roll.

After egg rolling the kids got to "sand-surf."  They stood on this large belt and had a 4-wheeler pull them around in the sand.  They had a blast.  Above is Alex, Cami, and Kort.
This is Madison, Keyera, and Kevin.  Keyera's Grandpa Randy is the one who invented this idea!  He is the one on the wheeler.  Thanks Randy!

Madison, Keyera, and  Kevin attempt to keep their  balance as the wheeler pulls them away!

Saturday morning started off with rain.  It is a good thing Grandma Barb brought over new rain boots for the kids!  What a perfect Easter present!  Saturday afternoon we went over to Sandra's.  She took the kids on a treasure hunt around her house.  At the end was a Easter bag full of good stuff!  I didn't have my camera over there that day.  My kids sure are blessed to have such wonderful grandparents.

Easter morning was filled with an egg hunt around the house, lots of candy, and of course church.  I tried my best to get a photo of them all dressed up.  Lane's tie is a little of center but at least they are all looking at the camera with half way descent smiles :)

After church we headed out to the Plum Patch at the farm for our annual Easter picnic.  There was more eating, egg hunting, a softball game, egg "throwing",  4 wheeling, and visiting around the fire.  It was a perfect Easter day spent with family and friends.
Grandpa just hit the ball as Madison takes off from first base!!
Madison made contact with the ball -- go girl!
Lane required some assistance from Gramps.
Between innings, AJ climbed a tree!

We didn't roll eggs this time, we CHUCKED them!  If you look closely you can see the eggs flying through the air!

1, 2, 3 throw!!

Daddy's girls!  Jaydee and Maddie resting by the fire with their dads.

Joyce, Zoe, AJ, and Jill.  They made the visit clear from California just for this Easter picnic!  We are so happy they did!
Chloe, Maddie, and my Dad at the end of the day --  Thanks Dad for providing such fun Easter festivities at the farm!
On to the next celebration!
