Happiest Day of My Life (Well...one of them at least!)

This is my back yard 4 days ago........
This is my back yard right now!!  Need I say more.... "One of the Happiest Days of my life!"

Our yard has been a work in progress since we finished our house.  Landscaping is a huge job!  We finally got serious this Spring and accomplished our goal!  The  following pictures are the process we have gone through the last month...
We first poured a big cement patio out back.  This cement truck barely fit between our house and the neighbors fence!  It was a tight SQUEEZE!
Andy's brother Troy put together a cement crew that helped finish the cement.  They all worked so hard!
They put a "stamp" finish on the top of the cement.  It looks great!
This picture below is looking off of our back deck.  It was so wonderful to see this instead of messy dirt, weeds, and other clutter!
The next step was sprinkler system, leveling, and grass!!  Luckily Andy did some electrical work for a Landscape Business owner.  They did a little trade work for each other -- works for me!
I woke up to the sight of the SOD truck this morning!  What is it that is so exciting about a truck full of grass?? I don't know, but I almost started to cry!
This is before sod...
Five hours later....... happy kids on happy grass basking in the sunlight!
We also had a hole dug for our trampoline...you can see in the background.

I can't believe how happy I am!  This post is probably really boring to most of you--
After a year and a half of mud, dirt, and DUST I must admit that green grass feels really good! Now, if any of you have a riding lawn mower you would like to sell for cheap -- call me, I'm interested!!    :)

Our Latest Accomplishments

It has been a busy week... winning trophies, earning karate belts, and finishing up soccer!
After 3 years of earning points in the piano festival, Madison won her first "Gold Cup!"  She worked extremely hard on her 2 piano pieces and was thrilled to finally receive this trophy.  I made her give it a big kiss!!
Here she is being awarded by her teacher.

This has been Madison's first year playing soccer.  She has learned a lot about the game!  Here are a couple of action shots of her playing defense.  She is the one with the black knee length shorts, white T-shirt, and pig-tails.

Madison finished up the gymnastics semester as well.  She is working on that back-handspring!
Lane's latest accomplishment....building a fence for his stuff animal using all of the cups, plates, and bowls out of the drawer!  Way to go Lane --- nice mess!! :)

Now Alex...
Alex has loved soccer!  Andy was his coach.  It was a good time-
We gave them each a medal and trophy after their last game.  They never lost a game! It was so entertaining to watch them play!
Alex also earned his second karate belt this week.  He moved on from the plain white belt to a cool camouflaged one with a white stripe.  He is really moving up in the world!  Here is a pose with his friend Jacob.
I got a new little video camera for an early Mother's Day gift.  It is pretty fun.  So, I am pretty excited about posting small video clips --- bear with me!
