Kick Off to Summer

I love summer!
We spent the evening up the mountain enjoying the beginning of summer.

Frog catching was one of the main events....

The kids just had to wander through this green swamp to find the little frogs.  It was super fun to watch them squeal, laugh, and get stuck in the muck!

Maddie and Keyera.....I don't think these two ever caught a frog.  "eew gross!"

Then we hiked up the hill a little farther and found a really neat beaver dam.  You can kind of see it behind these three "beavers."

Myself and Belinda....no other adults would join us for a photo :(

The kid gang!

Kort, Kevin, and Alex always find a good challenge....

It was a beautiful sunset.  Alex is resting on a tree chewed down by the beaver.

The beaver lodge is in the background....

The kids in their water/mountain boots.  Best purchase ever! But by the time we got back, most of these boots were filled with water and mud!  Might need to try full out waders next time!

Griff loved the little frogs.  He was so gentle and excited to hold him.  Look at that smile!

We finished off the night with s'mores and a campfire!
Oh and we can't forget the game of Andy hiding in the dark and scaring all the kids to death.  That was awesome!!

Welcome Summer!

A little of this and a little of that::

Here is a little collection of photos from some of the events that have been going on in our lives the last week.

Cheer/Dance Review.  Madison was flying high...

Lane performed an outstanding hip hop routine with this class.  This is his buddy Chase.

Madison and McKenna....

Of course we love this time of year because softball and baseball are in full "swing!"  Summer evenings at the ball field can't be beat.

Andy is coaching Alex's coach pitch team.  Last night Andy put Lane in to play with the big boys!  He did awesome!  He played right field and this is him playing catcher....

He got up to bat 3 or 4 times and hit every time!  He also scored each time!  He was in heaven.  We were cracking up at his determination and love for the game.  I don't think T-Ball is going to keep his interest for another year.  Here he is batting--you can see the ball coming in.   Also, if you look close he has on his awesome "red sox".  He never plays a game without them!

Alex performed in the Annual Manti Elementary May Day Program.  This is him and his friend Dylan.

School song...."It's Summer Time and the Reading is Easy...."

The Second Grade rocked a high energy ribbon dance!  :)

The whole school then danced with books to a cute song about reading.

Grandma Barb came to enjoy the show....

Love this guy....

And then there is Griff.  He just goes with the flow.   What a trooper....
