Cooler Weather

We actually had a few cooler days last week! Olivia was so excited to wear a jacket and boots....funny, since last winter she refused to wear any kind of jacket! Several nights in a row, she asked to go outside with her flashlight. I'm so glad she's finally showing some interest in being outdoors!

Sibling Class

Last weekend, we took Olivia to the hospital for her sibling class. She was able to learn about holding a baby.....

changing a diaper....

earned a certificate and big sister shirt.....

and saw three newborns in the nursery....

It was a great experience for all of us, and I think it will really help the craziness of Julia's arrival go a little bit smoother.

GOAL!!!!!!

So we all know Cesar has a little obsession with soccer jerseys. Well, now Olivia has the obsession! For 6 days in a row, she has begged him to play the "soccer jersey game". He gets them all out (all 25 of them!) and they throw them around, pick out their favorites, etc. Not sure why this is so much fun, but she begs for it! And to top it all off, she sleeps with her favorite, a red Atlas jersey!

As much as the jerseys annoy me, I LOVE seeing Daddy and Olivia bond together. This week has been full of Daddy/daughter time and it melts my heart! She also loves playing the wii with him and jumping on the trampoline.

Pinks

Olivia and Andy (a.k.a. pinks/pinkies/pinknose) are so in love! Whenever Olivia goes outside, Andy follows her around and purrs. She always stops what she's doing and gives him some lovin'! He also loves to sleep with her during nap time. (Speaking of Andy......Olivia is currently painting a picture for her "pinkyboy.")

Scissors!

Olivia has her own pair of scissors now. She has gotten so good at cutting! Luckily, she only cuts paper and grass! A few months ago she couldn't even hold them right, and now she's cutting in a straight line! Since the weather has gotten cooler, she loves going outside to "cut the grass and flowers".

Shaving Cream!

Olivia's newest hobby is painting and playing with shaving cream. We squirt some on the dining room table, and she goes to town! It's so easy to clean up and keeps her happy and busy!

32 weeks

I am now 32 weeks pregnant! So far, this pregnancy has been very easy and uneventful. My doctors appts have all gone well and everything looks great! Dr. Samuels mentioned she might induce one week early, since I had such a fast labor last time (3 hours). Fine by me! I just don't want to miss Olivia's Halloween, but I'll leave that in God's hands.

I feel so bad for Julia, because we have literally done nothing to prepare for her birth! Everything already seems ready---the room, supplies, clothing, etc! It sure made things a lot easier having another girl!

Olivia just attended her friend Laura's "Big Sister Party". I think having lots of new babies around has really helped Olivia understand what is going on. I think our biggest problem is when Olivia wants me to play with her and I have to feed or change the baby instead. We're really working on encouraging her to play by herself, but so far, it hasn't gone so well! She loves having someone else to play with!

First Day of School

Olivia had a great first week! She loves her new teachers, Mrs. Rose and Mrs. Rachel, and remembers all the kiddos from last year. She was the weather helper for the first week, and was so proud to tell me each day that it was cloudy outside! She comes home each day and tells me who went to time out and why; but of course, fails to mention that she had to be told over and over to sit down during lunch! Suprise, surprise! So far, she's only had warnings, no time out yet!

My sleepy girl: her class has a 20 minute "quiet time", and out of 12 kids, she and one other boy are the only ones who fall asleep. I'm just glad she wakes up happy and refreshed. Her teachers say she heads right to centers when she wakes up and doesn't miss a beat!
