Happy 2 Month Birthday, Julia!

Our precious girl turns 2 months today! She is smiling more and more and has good head control. She sleeps great at night, only waking up once to have a quick bottle. She's a bit spoiled and loves to be held while she naps, but we're working on breaking her of that. Hello, cradle, here comes Julia! We were away from home for 7 nights visiting family for Christmas, and Julia did wonderful! She sleeps the whole time in the car and then loves being spoiled by grandparents when we arrive. Her colick is much better, too! Santa brought her a playmat, books, and a rocking chair! Thank you, Lord, for a our sweet Julia!

First Trip to the Hospital

Our precious Julia had to go the hospital over the weekend. She was very fussy and running a 100.7 fever. Because of her age (5 weeks at the time) they wanted to run some tests. Luckily, everything came back normal and the fever went away after 12 hours. The docs assume it was a viral infection since she had no other symptoms. It was so scary at first, but I knew she was in good hands at Texas Childrens Hospital. She was such a good girl the entire time. I stayed with her the whole time, and I really enjoyed our snuggle time. She did, too! We are so thankful everything turned out okay and that she is back home, safe and sound! We are also thankful for the wonderful doctors and staff and TCH, it is an amazing hospital!

Dear Santa

Olivia created her list for Santa using pics from the internet. I'm amazed at how consistent she is when naming what she wants. It's always the same 6 things: princess castle, tap shoes, ballet shoes, gator golf, puppy in my pocket, and 5 little monkeys game. Notice the sideways happy face and her name on the red paper! She is doing so well cutting, coloring, and writing!

Snow Day!

Last Friday, Pearland had about 2 inches of snow! I kept Olivia home from school because she had a nasty cold, so she was able to got outside in it for a little bit. She didn't want to stay out long.

Gotta love the mix-matched winter attire!

This was early in the day, before it stated sticking.

Our winter wonderland!
I'm amazed our hybiscus bloomed that day!

What did the pets do all day? Snuggle and stay warm!

Olivia spent the day making a mess, as usual!

Haircut

BERORE

AFTER

Olivia got her 3rd haircut last week. She had about 2 inches cut off. I was sad to see her ringlets go away, but they were very tangled and messy looking. Now her hair is much easier to brush and looks cleaner. Here are the before and after pics.

Thanksgiving in Gunter

We spent Thanksgiving in Gunter with the Block family. This is my grandmother, Mimi's, side of the family. There were 59 people there!!!! This number is about the average for the past 10 years. The gathering includes the 3 huge families (Mimi, Aunt Lucille, and Aunt Lois), the oldest being 91, the youngest being 4 weeks!

We always gather for prayer and hold hands.

Deviled eggs are a must! Lori made one batch, I made the other. They were indentical! We couldn't even tell them apart!

LaJuana and John host the event every year. There are so many tables, the "young" ones eat in the garage!

Here's Olivia riding on the tractor.

A little game of football!

Hayride!

Daddy and Olivia relaxing after a big meal!

Patrick the piano man and Olivia the dancer!

After lunch, every gathered around to hear Aunt Lucille tell stories about life on the farm.
