Happy Thanksgiving

I know this is belated but I thought it was important to share even if it is a day late. As many of you were, we were on the road all day long yesterday so I didn't have time to post.

I just wanted to take some time and be thankful for all the wonderful things in our lives.

Paul and I reflected last night while we were traveling on what we were thankful for and here are a couple of things to mention. First and foremost our Brentley Rae! We are so thankful that God has blessed us with her in our life. We just pray that we as parents mold and teach her to live a Christian life. We are thankful for our wonderful marriage and the awesome bond we have with each other. We are very thankful for our families that mean so much to us. Everything from the simple phone calls checking in on us to being there for us during the many calls for need of help. We are thankful for our health and ability to work our jobs each day. We are thankful for our jobs and that God has blessed us financially. We are thankful for all of our wonderful friends. We are thankful for our church and church family. We are thankful for many many more things that I couldn't possibly have enough time to list but if you are reading this and know or have met us throughout our life we are thankful for you!

Brentley in her little tukey outfit, she tinkled on it at the first stop then we washed it and then she did it again when we first got to moms. Ugh!
She slept most of the day
Grandmother showing off the outfit she bought her
It was Nora's first Thanksgiving too!
After a long hard day of sleeping, she wanted to wake up for "Ah D"

We hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving too!!

First Doctor's Visit

On Wednesday we had our first trip to the doctor for Brentley's newborn checkup. This was our first outing away from home since we came home from the hospital. I never expected that it would literally take us 3+ hours to get ready for this doctor's visit. Needless to say, after my shower it was diaper change, outfit change, diaper change, feed time, spit up, outfit change and you get the point. So we made it to the Dr 15 minutes late, but we made it. She didn't act to good on this visit, I hope the nurse and Dr doesn't think "oh no, here comes Brentley crying again." But all in all, everything went really well at the doctor, she will need to go back in 2 weeks to make sure she has gained back up to her birth weight. And for the record, she doesn't cry hardly at all, I hope she will have herself together for the next visit.

This is the fit that she throws every time she gets into her seat

As soon as she is buckled in, she is passed out!

Weighing at the doctor (at least my weighing in at the doctor days are over!)

Brentley getting measured, she hates being undressed.

Dr Scott checking her out, still naked still crying!

Brentley Rae

Brentley Rae Rogers

I can finally post pictures, we have the highest bidder! The Grandma's! My friend Ashley asked me if I was holding out on the pictures to get the highest bidder like the celeberties do! Ha, I thought that was funny. So here is our little precious one.
Paul and I could never imagine how wonderful this experience is, parenthood is amazing.
The Proud Grandma's "Grandmother" (Paul's mom) and "Ah D" (my mom)
She loves having Daddy time.
Evan has his first cousin

This is the dress and bonnet that I came home from the hospital in.

Here is Ms. Brentley Rae's coming home outfit that Momma Dot (her greatgrandmother) gave her. She has a bonnet too that Grandmother Rogers' gave her but there are no good pictures with the bonnet. She wasn't happy with the whole picture taking experience.

Brentley Rae is here!

Hey, I just wanted to let you know Brentley Rae is here!!! I will post some pictures after we get home. So here's the story. I went to the dr on Friday and he convinced me "There is NO WAY you will go into labor while I'm on vacation next week." As I mentioned before, we were scheduled on the 25th for a C-Section because he thought I couldn't have a normal delivery. I really wanted to try but after our talk on Friday, I was ok with the section.

I'm up all night Friday because I can't sleep. My stomach was cramping but no big deal. I got up with Paul at 5:30 and I read while he leaves for work. My water breaks as I'm sitting in the bed reading. So I call my doctor and he said to go ahead and take a shower but I can take my time then head on in. Well I could have really taken my time. We get to the hospital about 7:30 am. My parents and Paul's parents meet us there. My parents have the bright idea to bring doughnuts for everyone, except the patient can't have anything. I go through the process of the triage then they pretty much give me my epidural first thing. I dilate very slow all day. Long story short the labor was a total of 14 hours with 1 1/2 hours of heavy pushing.

Brentley Rae weighs 7.7 and was 20.5 inches long. We are doing great. We hope to be home sometime on Monday. I will post pictures then.

Update

I just wanted to update you on what has been going on with us the past couple of weeks. Obviously no baby yet! I went to the doctor yesterday still not dilated but cervix has thinned. He was concerned about my swelling so he did blood work for toxemia, but results show I'm not toxic. Yeah for not being toxic, but boo for the idea of him taking her on Friday is out the window. I know that is the selfish part of me but ask any 37 week pregnant woman and she will agree! He still wants to see me Friday before he goes on vacay, not really sure why other than him to say "yep, baby still in there and you are still miserable and now I'm off going to Hilton Head." Can you tell I'm a little bitter??? I'll keep you updated on the progress. Have a great week.

Counting Down!

We have 20 days (or less)! That sounds like forever still! I'm so over this pregnancy being "fun". Yes, I'm thankful it has been a great and easy pregnancy but I'm ready to be done with it. Enough moaning already.

We went to the doctor yesterday and had an ultrasound and at this point she already weighs 6 lbs 10oz. The doctor says most babies at this point are at the 50% for weight but our little one (or big one should I say) is a over achiever when it comes to weight and is at 64% of the national average. My cervix had thinned but I haven't dilated any.

Here are some pictures of last weekend. It was super busy!! Of course we had Halloween Friday night then I had a shower at church Saturday morning. It was my dad's birthday so I drove to Olive Branch to celebrate that night, then headed back home. Sunday afternoon I had our family shower, so by Monday I was dead. But I'm back now :) Here are a few pictures.

Me and Ashley at the family shower

Momma Dot, Ms. Janis, me, my mom
Me and my sister in law (Paul's sister), can you believe how much we look alike. People always mistake us for each other.

Aunt Penny, Aunt Pam and Ashley, hostess of our family shower

Doesn't Penny look like Sarah Palin?!!!

Me and Leslie (my other sister in law) we are 6 weeks apart,

both of us are so ready for this to be over!!! Yes, I'm huge!!!
