VACATION!!

So I know I've been absent for awhile from the blogging scene, but we were off having too much fun with our families. This summer we were lucky enough to get to go on a vacation with both of our families. We first took our trip with the Gordons to Mesa Verde to see the Ancient Puebloen cliff dwellings. It was so cool and fun to see how these people developed and how their architecture changed over the years.

More importantly, it was fun to get to spend some more time with Rooi's family. We hiked around both ends of the park seeing The Long House, Cliff Palace, and Badger House (I'm not positive on that last name.)

While we were there we enjoyed each others company, a little rain, and a few adventures like trying to roast marshmallows on wet wood and getting caught in the middle of a Wyoming down pour about a mile and a half away from the visitors center.

But it was a lot of fun and some great memories.

A week after our first trip, we headed in the oppisite direction, towards the west coast where we met my family. On our first day we went to Sea World which was pretty fun. My favorite show was the dolphins, kinda made me wish I'd chosen a different major so I could swim with the dolphins too. But alas, I love what I'm stuyding and maybe some day we will get to swim with the dolphins too.

Something really fun to watch though was how much fun Parker had, especially how much he liked Rooi. I will admit I wish that he liked me as much, but that's ok, he's a two year old boy- it's understandable that he would like boys better. Every morning once we all woke up, Parker would ask either my dad or Rooi to read him his favorite book, Green Eggs and Ham.

And here's a picture of Rooi and I at one of the final shows of the day.

The next day we spent the day at the beach playing in the water and the sand, burying Rooi up to his neck in the sand and learning to boogie board. Later that night we went up to Anahiem for the Angels vs the Yankees baseball game. It was Rooi and mines first pro baseball game.

On our final day in Califronia we stopped off in la Jolla to see the temple and take some pictures. It would have been nice to get to go to a session or do baptisms, but we will just have to do that on another trip.
