Three years already?

It's hard to believe that Rooi and I have been married for 3 years. It doesn't seem like it's been that long, time flies when you're having fun.

Here's a glimpse of what we did for our third anniversary:

Dinner:

Activity: Phoenix Museum of Art (Wednesday nights are free admission, yeah!)
Dessert: Coldstone Icecream with some supprisingly aweful service.

Presents: we decided to not get presents this year since funds are a little tight, and instead of flowers this year he got me the rest of the Hunger Game Series. Yeah!!

We had a lot of fun hanging out and getting to know the area. It's funny, I thought I'd never see Rooi once he started school, but I see him now more than I did while we were at BYU. And we're finding we can go do fun things that are pretty cheap.

It's been a wonderful 3 years and I'm sure we'll have plenty more! :)Posted by Picasa

SUCCESS!!!

After 3 years of marriage and multiple failed attempts, this past week I FINALLY made a batch
of Chocolate chip cookies using Rooi's mom's recipe. And although they were not perfect, they were pretty darn close.

... and we actually ate the entire batch before they went stale.

I also made a batch of Peanut Butter Bars that were pretty good too. It's amazing what a properly working oven will do for your baking.

Adventures in Glendale

We are finally getting settled into our new apartment. As some of you may know, not long after we arrived here in Glendale our A/C broke resulting in our forced weekend get away. This is funny for two reasons:

1. We were originally assigned the aparmtent next door but were moved to our current apt because the A/C hadn't been fixed yet in the first one, only to find out later that indeed the A/C had been fixed, they just hadn't told the Housing manager.

2. I told Rooi that it felt like we were on vacation as we drove around trying to find our way around town. Not two days later our A/C goes out and we move into a hotel for the weekend. Now it REALLY feels like we're on vacation.

With the A/C not working and the temperature outside around 100 degrees the housing office gave us two options, use a portable a/c unit or check into a hotel. We chose the latter and the University paid for it. Thank you Midwestern!

So despite our unplanned vacation we are just about unpacked in our new abode, and here are some pictures for those who want to know what it looks like:
The Kitchen:
It's a bit bigger than our last one which is nice and it has lots of counter space which we LOVE.
The Dining Room/ Living Room:
I'll add a picture of the living room in a little bit.
The Bathroom:
Our Bedroom/ Office:
The room is pretty big, and there's lots of space on the left side of the bed, I just couldn't get it all in one picture.

We love our new place and the ward is great!
.
In other news: Rooi started classes this week and things are going well so far. It's only been a couple of days and it's mostly review, but he's not stressing out too much which is good.
While Roo has been in class, I have been getting unpacked, reading (just finished the Hunger Games and Catching Fire. Can't wait till the third one comes out, only 13 more days!) and sending my resume out like crazy trying to find a job. Nothing yet, but I'll let you know when I find one.

We made it!

We have finally arrived at our new home in Glendale Az after 16 hours in the car, 3 hours sleep (also in the car), 1 new tire, and two apartments.

Although things didn't go quite as planned we feel very blessed to have arrived safely and gotten all of our stuff moved into our new apartment that is just minutes away from Rooi's new school.

We are excited about our new home and this next adventure!

Thanks to all of you who helped us pack up, drive down, unload, and settle in! We love you and couldn't have done it without you! Thanks!
