Skype

My parents have started using Skype to video chat with my brother and his family in Alaska.  Last week Todd, Sandra and Keats were on spring break, so on Monday we decided to try to Skype with one another.  I first talked to them while the girls were napping, just to make sure everything worked.  Then when Paige and Virginia got up from their nap we talked to them again.  Paige and Virginia spent most of the time laughing at Keats and squeeling.  They were having their snack and trying to share with Keats.  It was so cute.  I took a couple of little videos of them while we were Skyping.  Here's one.

This week my mom is in Alaska visiting.  Last night we Skyped with them.  The girls loved it.  They loved being able to see Dee, Keats and Todd (Sandra wasn't home).  It was great until we had to say goodbye.  As soon as I closed the window Paige and Virginia started crying and telling me to bring Dee back.  We finally got them settled down by showing them some old videos on the computer.  Bedtime was a nightmare last night, though.  Skype with our Alaska family may have to just be a weekend thing.

"From Chuck"

When I was pregnant with Paige and Virginia we spent a weekend in West Virginia with Ben's parents and his dad's cousin, Chuck, and Chuck's partner, Rick.  When we were there Chuck gave us a framed card that was drawn by some relative of theirs that I can't remember at the moment.  The artist had sent the card to Chuck's mother, I believe, a number of years ago and now Chuck had it.  He decided to frame it and gave it to us.  It has been in Paige and Virginia's changing room since before they were born.  One evening last week Paige and Virginia picked it up and were looking at it.  We were talking to them about it and told them who had given it to us and the girls kept saying it.  We thought it was so cute we had to get a video.

The Park with Dee and Dude

On Friday we went to a playground with my parents.  Paige loved the rock climbing wall that they had leading up to the slides.  She was very proud of herself when she got to the top.
