Many times in the last few years we've discussed making our blog private. We tried it once for a few months, but I changed it back after hearing from people that they had stopped following us or had trouble logging in. But, it's time to do it again, and this time, we're committed to it for many reasons.
The downside to all of this is that there are many friends and people who have supported us, prayed for us, and followed us for a while now and I don't want to block them. Every few months someone we don't personally know will post a comment that they've been following us for awhile, and hope we are doing well. I don't mind that at all. In fact, I've had some rather touching experiences come from those circumstances and have made some good friendships with people I've never actually met. Also, I'll admit to being a bit of a blog stalker myself. I have a few roommates or friends from college whose families I met during school and now I find myself checking in on them every now and then. Some of them might remember me, but I'm sure many of them don't. So I do it too! Here are people who I don't mind sharing our blog with:
* family and friends
*people from the cancer community or who have followed our cancer journey
*people we went to high school or college with
*people who we have worked with
*people from our past and present church congregations
*people who are friends or family of our friends or family who have been following us
So here's how this will work. The entire contents of this blog have been moved to our new, private blog. If you'd like to keep following us, please post your name and email in the comments section so I can send you an invitation. The comments will be hidden, so no one else will be able to see your information. If you think we don't know you, please include a brief explanation of how you found us (i.e. Design Mom, sister of my college roommate's husband, acquaintance from our hometown...). I promise I won't think you are weird. Once you have your invitation and have logged in, you can enter our blog through this link.
