4 Years!

March 25th was our 4 year anniversary, but since it fell on a Thursday (Ross' busiest day of the work week), we didn't do anything special to celebrate. However, my awesome husband surprised me with a note on the kitchen counter informing me he had booked a room at a B&B called the Alaskan Inn for Friday night. I was so excited! He'd even arranged for my cousin to watch Logan while we were away. Pretty great, right?

Keadon with his cousins (my cousin's kids). He LOVED miss Aubrey!
We stayed in our own little cabin. Cute!

Our only family picture...(Don't get it? I'm behind the flash.)

Keadon's favorite part of the room, along with a little sparkling cider...

There I was admiring this cute little cabin, when BAM! Helloo, moose!
This pic didn't turn out too well, but isn't the scenery beautiful?

Part of the view from the B&B. The picture doesn't do it justice!
Pretty much the craziest thing I've seen in awhile!
Ross was given 3 free tickets to "How to Train Your Dragon" (super cute!), so we took Logan after we picked him up from my cousin's house.

Babies Anyone?

I have been SO baby hungry the past few days! (Okay, let's be honest--more like the past few months...) It's driving me crazy! It makes no sense because I hate pregnancy and have my hands full enough with Logan and Keadon, and yet, I find myself wanting another little one. I swear...I think we're going to end up with 15 kids. LOL. Luckily, we have a couple trips planned this year during which I do NOT want to be suffering from morning sickness, so Ross is safe for now. ;-)

Be Still

One of my absolute favorite scriptures is found in Psalm 46:10. It reads: "Be still, and know that I am God."

"Be still..."With all the "hustle and bustle" in our lives, we may sometimes forget to take a step back and really LISTEN to the promptings of the Spirit. I have a very strong testimony of the importance of prayer, scripture study, and paying attention. I know our Heavenly Father wants to provide guidance to us throughout the various stages of our lives, but how can He do that if we aren't taking the time to hear what He has to say? I am certainly not perfect at setting aside ample time to "be still," but the blessings that have come to me as a result of those times when I've chosen to drop everything and sincerely devote my time to the Lord have instilled in me a knowledge of the importance of this commandment. We must be still. We must listen to our Heavenly Father. We must obey.

"...know that I am God." When we are listening and obeying our Father in Heaven, the events that transpire throughout our lives will always be for our good. Whether we are experiencing times of happiness and prosperity, or despair and suffering, He has a plan. We need to trust in God and have faith He will help us through our trials, and we need to continue to remember him in our thoughts and our actions during those times in life when things seem to be going wonderfully. He is God. He has all power, and without Him, we are nothing. Anything truly good that happens in our life is a blessing from Him, and if we can strive to always remember that, I know we will be greatly blessed.

Motherhood has deepened my testimony of the power of God, as well as the love I feel for Jesus Christ. I know they are two separate beings, and I know I can always turn to them for guidance, comfort, and even if I just want to talk. I know my amazing husband, beautiful children, and all other family and friends are blessings from my Father in Heaven, and I am very grateful to know of the love God and Jesus Christ feel for me. I know each one of us is important to them, and it is my prayer my children are able to develop that same testimony early on in their lives.

Weekend Events

A couple fun things happened this weekend....

1) We had a spur-of-the-moment visit from our friends Doug and Elise, which was a great surprise. We went bowling, and then they were kind enough to introduce us to what could possibly be the most life-changing YouTube video Ross and I have ever seen. (Okay, so maybe not life-changing, but it was pretty hilarious!) Check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GuMZ73mT5zM It had us laughing SO hard! (The clip is of a marriage counselor who uses humor to explain the differences between the way men and women think.)

2) Keadon has finally started scooting! It's really cute. He's not pro at it yet, but he's getting a little better each time he tries. Below is a video of one of his first attempts. I don't know how to edit from Ross' laptop, so here it is in all it's raw footage glory!

Winder Farms

We've recently discovered a grocery delivery service called Winder Farms, and it's pretty awesome. The delivery guy comes every Tuesday morning and leaves the order in a cooler, so there's no inconvenience to us whatsoever. It's great! WF has several great products, but the chocolate milk definitely takes the cake! It's SO good! Their milk also tastes way better than the milk from the store (apparently it has extra milk cultures...or something like that...), and the skim milk actually looks and tastes like milk instead of colored water. Other items that are really good are the Pumpkin Choc Chip bread, the Carrot Walnut bread, the 100% whole wheat w/ honey bread (it's contains the same ingredients--and nothing else--found in homemade bread), the choc covered gummy bears, and the salsa. They carry other items such as fresh produce (organic and "regular") and frozen meals as well, but they can be pretty pricey. Oh, and another cool thing is several of the Winder Farms products are free of preservatives (such as the salsa and bread), which is why I'm willing to sacrifice in other areas to make sure we can afford to purchase some of their great products.

Well, this is starting to sound like an ad for the company, so I'll stop here. No more free advertising for them! :-)
