Woo... long time since I update. Has been kept busy doing things, got flu since I came back. The weather at Bangkok was unlike Singapore for the past few days. It's Sunny all day long with no rain. Temperature range from 10°C to 30, and I think that's the reason I got sick, due to the drastic low temperature at night. Back in the hotel, the supposedly air con can cool the temperature down from max 30 to 16°C, turned it to 30°C
everytime, hoping it won't cool the air further. Of course it fail lo :P
Just a summary of events that happened first.
... (thinking in progress, many things happened.....)
1. Thailand trip 9
th to 12
th - 24
th SEA Games were interesting, but the travel package schedule for the trip is totally boring.... Basically to the games to "support" and back to the hotel to "
recharge", for the next day to "support" again.... no shopping, no "anyhow" walk walk sessions in plan from the travel agency....
2. Home Sweet Home, Wed 12/12/07 8.05pm ...
3. played "catching" with my runny nose 13
th to 15
th ( Sat),
4. 15
th (Sat),
Phototaking for my Hall 10 Soccer Match, lost 6-0.... (poor me need to write a
nice writeup for that.... Zzz)
5. 16
th (Sun) Rested at home in the morning, "book in" hall at 11 pm, for "Fastest Finger First" on Monday, 9.30am-12.30pm.
(Fastest Finger First = A day where
kiasu students of
NTU try to choose for their class slots so that they can go to school at their "preferred" time slots. Library
internet connections is rumoured to be the fastest, and that gives it the name)
6. 17
th (Mon) Jogged to Lee Wee Nam library, after "exercising" my fingers, walk-a-jog session with
Qin Xian till 11.45am, met Alvin (
roomie) for lunch, went back Lee Wee Nam to watch Alvin's episode of "Fastest Finger" at 1.30pm, went back hall, met Hall Table Tennis players, nothing to do, so went to support, photographer in charge of event not around, so became the photographer again, till 3-4... went with them to see carom at Hall 8, nothing to do again, so stayed there and played with
Da Qing's (hall friend) Nikon
DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex..
aiya, it just mean a super EXpensive camera...) till 9pm, went back hall.
Ok, now for those who are really bored and interested (
eg: "future"
Jiahe reading this..), this is the lengthy part... ( .....Realised that I can really write
LOoo...
ng CRaP only after I've got this blog...) Will try to keep it short
for goodness sake..... Oh crap, I am adding on
CraP as I write these in.... As long as you understand... I am not a CraPPy person. I will not add on more CrAP to my post...)

Here goes.
Thailand trip 1st day - On touchdown in Airport of Bangkok (-1 hr from Singapore time)
Took 2222 photos and videos.
@_@!! but shall just pick a few better ones.
The biggest airport in the world.

It's certainly a Steel Castle.
The interior

The Mascot for the 24th SEA games welcomes us.
The Shops

This is my bag. HA! Doesn't this looks familiar?
(To the
ORDed boys Kelvin and
Seng Kiat)
Yup! Used the army "no
brainer" bag. It's easy to pack, just dump everything in :P
Planned to bring back lots of gifts and present, in the end... no shopping time in schedule!!??
-_-"
Erm.... taking a closer look...

Yeah, I totally understand it.
No photo of cameras with a strike out sign on it isn't it?
.. But who will bring such a photo..?
haha, anyway, I don't quite understand some of their things. They really amused me. Really. (The one above is a joke la). Will talk about it later.
And before I leave the airport...

Yeah... Illegal Wildlife Trafficking is punishable under the Law.
Confining turtles from running around is cruelty.
So start taking your pet turtle for a walk now if you haven't been doing so~!

Ok, more things about the trip ~ In
Korat.
There's actually many more winners who were on the same flight with us, tickets are won from
TV's smses, Plaza
Singapura, where the main winners are from.
MGS Cheer leading team was the champion in a inter school cheer leading competition, and they were fully sponsored to go to the SEA games as well, by Team Singapore. (
MGS = Methodist Girls School, secondary level)
The lucky draw winners (and that's me) were supposed to go be there to cheer as well. And we paid $138 per person for the airport tax, just to do that :(
But it not that bad actually la... It's just that I feel that, since they (and us) actually paid so much to transport us there, why can't they just let us stay there maybe 1-2 days more to explore or shop around. I just think it's quite wasted lo.
If you watched the SEA games during that period... I was part of the noise-polluting team for more than half of the time.
We were given a
Cheering Horn and
unlimited supply of clappers.
The long manually blown thingy are the clappers.

~ Picture is taken during the Body Building event.
After every few rounds of
"violent banging" from the "Singapore
Armed Forces", the air-filled sticks need to be replaced.
"Let's go Singapore let's go!"
"G O G O Singapore Let's GO!"
"Singapore 加油 Singapore 加油"
These were the standard few that we'll use as cheer.
But have you seen before, a person with a Horn in Mouth, A camera is Hand, and cheering and walking around? There's photographers around, the cheer leaders in place, the security guards walking around. And I am a "3 in 1" most of the time. The people there must be thinking, Singaporeans are so cost efficient. Send such people to perform 3 person tasks..
haha.
But really, Team Singapore really sent very few photographers and writers over there. Had a chat with them, and they said they had to rush around this foreign place to take photos because of the "budget-minded" Singapore style. They had to cover simultaneous events.
Anyway, looking at the way they work, really pity them
sia. These sports photographers have to run around, with their "Bazookas", from places to places. Check it out...
Some guy walking around with his weapon.

Audrey (Hope I get his name right...) - Our Team Singapore Sports Photographer, Olympus's only
ambassador.

More sharp shooters.

Eh.. not really sharp... They are just shooting ping pong balls.

Badminton
The entrance

There's this incident that I still find it amusing till now when I think back.
Maybe to let you know some things about every venue first.
Every entrance will have this "ticketing" and "security counter" before you go in, where they will check your bag for "
DaNgErOus" items. Everytime, I went in smoothly, but at this Badminton Venue, it took me a bit longer to clear it.
The Security actually found something that may be
"DaNgEr"!
A bottle of mineral water.
And you know what? They are so highly tactical and efficient. They "DeFUSEd" the "bomb" right on the spot... He opened up the bottle, threw the cap away, and returned me the bottle, with mineral water full... and he did some "caveman hand signals", which I decode as, it's to prevent us from throwing. Wow... I gave him the @@ face when he showed me the "I am the BOSS around here" look. Realised many others in front was like holding a "capless" bottle walking around, looking confused and annoyed. So..... I took back the bottle, chanted the SAF 7 core values in my mind, and finished the bottle, then I drop the empty bottle into the bin that is in front of him.
He looked at me, then I gave him the 若无其事 (as if nothing happened) de look, and walk off with my group.
Gosousama :) (thank him for the water in Japanese).
(All Singapore Army boys are trained to drink 1 full water bottle in any condition, even straight after a MEAL, to fulfill the so called "hydration regime" so we won't dehydrate and our “大头贴”(neoprints) appear on news. We always have to say these before we try to bloat ourselves up, "SAF 7 core values. Loyalty to Country, Leadership, Discipline, Professionalism, Fighting Spirit, Ethics, Care For Soldiers. Drink up... -_-" )
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Okay, now into the games.
The most "used" winning pose for all.

And someone was as excited as the player :)
How pictures appears on Newpapers and magazines.

Woo.. all sniper ready.

Singapore overall just lost one match to Indonesia, and that's why we
SILVER they
GOLD.Hmm... then I thought to myself. What a waste... but what will others feel? Saw some talking to themselves, slapping their palms on their thighs, after the results is out.
So I tried to imagine myself, with x1000 more agitation... and guess what.
(running senario in Jiahe's world)
~ I suddenly felt like doing something... that is............. to throw something at the "
zhuai" Indonesian who keep shouting!!
The first thing that came to mind was... a BoTtle to throw.
I was furiously looking for a "made in Thailand" mineral bottle filled.. Arghh... I can only see my umbrella, my own full wATER bottle... BUT I JUST CAN'T FIND A "MIT" MINERAL WATER BOTTLE!!! Then I realised that the security guard outing side just took mine out!!? I have only learnt how to throw a Mineral bottle... tried a few swings with my other objects... I TRIED and TRIED, but I just can't throw!!!?? ARGHH.... guess I can't really do anything to get back at them... (sat back down to cheer... Well Done Singapore Well DOnE "ClaP Clap".......)
Wow... great work there security guards!
One riot saved all thanks to their smart move.
~Impressive!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
And for gymnastics, both our Singapore twins got
GOLD.

Cute aren't they?
One group photo before we left.

Body Building
One of the catagory of marks given comes under "audience response". As we all know, Singaporeans are all kiasu, anything can get
MUST get.
Check out our "Made in Singapore" No 1 cheer leaders'
power.
They can actually continue for every round when Singapore "
Mocca models" comes out. (The musclemen
loh,
ahHA!)
In the end, I also joined in the fun. Took out my "
ORDed" items and add on to
red cheer horn (given by Team Singapore).
An
artillery spec's whistle and
ear plugs.

Ear plugs is recommended to be used with the Whistle, adviced by the
Turtle Board of Health and Safety.
Cos...
The whistle can really kill :P
Ok that's about it for now.
This time, my post ending is a bit abrupt. Anyway, hope the long post is not boring you out, cos if it is, I am going to bore myself out when I read back in 50 years time :P
Going for CAC GL bonding camp from 22-23rd Dec, Sat and Sun, so will update this post again on Monday. So meanwhile, just read this okay :)
many things unwritten, so many things to do..... hope I won't forget.
