Walk a Jog on Sunday

Sunday - 30/12/07

As I have expected, the Walk-a-Jog is a big event. The route we ran was from Seng Kang MRT to Punggol MRT. But this time, I came in at least 3rd place. HAha!~ The 2 who came in before me was a 17 year old boy, O Level graduate who has this same skinny frame as me, and also 40+ army officer, who says he is a runner who runs 3 weeks a time... HAha. Should be 3 times a week :P The boy realised and told him. And I actually able to interpret as 3 times a week when he said that!!? Guess all people who went through army will be turned stupid and think the same way bah... haha.

The big event for this day is the racing car shows. A long stretch of road is blocked off and used as a race track.

I am not a car fanatic myself, so just post a few pictures to let you see :P

That also explains the way I describe cars.

A yellow car.

A red Car.

Another Red Car....

A Blue Beatles
Car.

A Mashi Maro
Car!

A Black NEED FOR SPEED MOST WANTED CAR.

Saw Bumble Bee from Transformer as well!

The NEW Bumble Bee

Optimus Prime.

joking....

Everyone watches as the car does the Initial D.

This is a video showing a car drift.

This Red Bull drink is given free by someone I seen before in NTU who happened to be working as a "Red Bull girl" as well. Haha, not saying her name in case she come 打到我四脚朝天..... She's in wushu also, mai siao siao!

Also saw this... think it's a racing car for Ninja Turtles.

A colourful Car.

A grey Car... last one to be displayed here liao :P

CIP

Today, I did CIP in my neighbourhood. Went to Seng Kang's new Community Club named Anchorvale CC with my mum, to help in the Scholarship and Busary Presentation Ceremony for little cute children. Thinking back, hmm... the last time I got it was so long ago, once in JC 1 and the 2nd last one most probably in primary school....

The GOH was Dr Lam Pin Min, he's in charge of my area. Seen him around most of the time. When I am free, I'll usually join most neighbourhood events like the monthly Walk-a-jog Sessions. And during Big events, Dr Lam will be there.

There's Dr Lam on the right. He's a real doctor. And thinking back, I received my Thailand lucky draw trip from his hands. He roughly knows I am from Seng Kang, when I received it from him that time.

Looking at those young kids brings back memories.

I used to be very short as well in primary school till Sec 2. Missed the times when I can swing my legs like that. Now even sitting on playground swings can hurt my big butt :P

Today, I joined the RC officially as a volunteer. Last time, I used to end up helping out after neighbourhood events sometimes. So Mr Alan Leong, the chairman of my Seng Kang RC asked me to put down my name, so they can actually ask if I am free to help out for any events. He's a good man, everyone goes to him for help. Nowadays, not many youngster will join family events organised by their neighbourhood Community Centres, so I am one of the few kids who go for walk-a-jog sessions (sometime maybe just me only). Know lots of Uncles and Aunties around, and they like to say things like so 乖 (obedient) to come out with parents.. make me really feel like a kid -_-"
But I really like the outdoors stuff, love running, but hate to do it alone, like what I've always said. That's why I haven't missed out any running activities. I don't mean I can run very fast, still hoping to get my GOLD timing for this year's NSMen IPPT before my birthday in Feb, but being the only few kids, I can't recall a time not coming in 1st among the senior citizens group...

Tomorrow, there's another Walk-a-jOg session from Seng Kang MRT to Punggol MRT, think it's some bigger than normal events. Gonna go sleep early tonight.

Run turtle Run!

NAF Bonding session.

(NAF - Nanyang Arts Festival, committee for special project in CAC)

This is the 2nd bonding session so far. Today, we are supposed to meet at 1 pm at Leisure Mall for ice skating, yeah, most were late. Not many turned up as well. Before we start, some of us were hungry, so had lunch at Pasta Mania. Realised Angela is a chilli queen. Tested her pasta, I think the name of the pasta that she ordered should be called "super chilli lover"? Haha. And she actually requested to make it hotter. Serena brought her brother along and some of the CAC Exco also came to join in the skating session as well. Anyway, they were going to have a Belated Christmas celebration for the CAC Exco at Janice's place afterwards. She is the CAC's publicity director.

A NAF "ice skaters" group photo.

Serena and bro Shawn (left), Angela, Jiahe, Yong Xi, Rene, Tao Jun (right)
For all pictures with me inside, it's taken by Alvin :) Thanks!

The supporters were outside the ring sitting, and they have to pay $3 for going in as well. For the skaters, we got a student discount from showing our student pass, $16.50 in total for 2 hrs, including skates. 2 hours of skating is really long! So I suggest you can "swap" with the supporters after a while :) Wanted to let Alvin, a good friend I knew since FOC, to try it, since it's his first time as well. At first he wanted, but then he decided to not look like Alvin and the Chipmunks on ICE. (then we will have a good laugh. heehee.)

Lifang (left), Angela (right) only played for a while but decided to become supporter. The 2 male supportors on the left were Alvin (left) and Zong Yi (right). Serena(left) was having a break, without a kit kat. Lifang the super supporter bought us all a super tasty milo as well. The milo really taste good! Haha. Oh, and she's the vice for events coordinator in CAC. Knew her since CAC FOC, she's our SA (Senior attached). Always seen LOL! As in literally. A super happy person :)

Zhen Yuan - The supportor who risk his life in the cold to give his utmost support.

Ah! This is the first time I ice skate. Only tried roller blading for a few times when my army friends from artillery course decided that we should learn roller blading after being "inspired" by Fiona Xie's blading skill on tv like 2 years ago, Nov 05. -_-"

Knew how to move with "break dances" along the way, but still haven't manage to learn the brakes. Hey Kelvin, you told me it's easier than roller blading right? At first when I step on the ice, I was having "cold feet". Moved like a penguin on land. LOL!

After moving a while, I think I can fly.. even the camera can't have a lock on me!

No la, just kidding, it's just a blur picture :P After that one is "break dance" from me. 四脚朝天 like a turtle loh. (four legs face the sky). Haha!

The CAC exco who came with us.

Simon(left), Logistic Director (always bugged by Zhen Yuan, our Chief Logistic. Haha!)
?(centre) haha, haven't got his name :P (first time seeing him within 1 metre range)
Janice(right), Publicity Director, saw her 3 times in NTU, 1st time at the CAC member's Nite at Hall 15, 2nd time at Zhang Zhen Yue Concert, 3rd time today)

And our NAF Director, YOng Xi, was so dedicated as well.

A meeting right after a bonding session is best to test how effective is the bond!!

Heehee, it's isn't as bad as it seems la. Actually he just took "5 min" for his mini briefing. The "5 min" was a bit long though. Hmm... :P

Ok, just receive a sms from Marvin asking if I am free for a blk 51 ice skating session next Wed...!!!! And that's not all.. Wushu outing is going to be same place, "Turtle on ICE" as well... Guess I am going to spend my 12 days of Christmas with real temperatures from Santa's homeland :)

Turtle going RanDom

On the 5th Day of Christmas my turtle gave to me, 5 spec feet point to "ORD"!
(spec = specialist, I specialise in Big artillery guns)

Picture was taking during a spec outing on 15/12/07, on our way back in Clarke Quay MRT, dunno how come this is on the floor. So we just took it. Whose legs involve: Seng Kiat, Kenneth Kow, Kelvin, Calvin and Mine (my name is not "mine" by the way)

(ORD = Operational Ready Date, 2 years in army finish loh!)

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyway, results are out. As I have wished for, I did pass, with lame grades. GPA is 2.9.... People all around me got way better grades than me. Haven't heard of anyone with GPA less than 3.5 yet.. and most actually got 4.2 and above. And I knew of a "Made in 中国" de brain, GPA was 4.97.... ???? All A, except 1 A-... and I have no A- at all...

Ok, shall plan my time more properly next sem. Have seen a wide range of brain, from pea brain (that's mine) to big brain. Have seen friends who doesn't really need to study, some brains who absorbs knowledge like sponge, and mine like spongebob... Already knew long time ago that my brain is only good for remembering logical things, brute force memory can't work on a damaged brain. And engineering course is mostly illogical. It's not as simple as F=ma anymore.

Anyway, I have already worked hard this sem 1... but have been running around and attending to too many things.
Realised that there's a limit to hard work, we only have 24hrs a day. Can't be running around attending to too many things at the same time... even turtles with 4 legs can't run fast enough to cope.

Will plan my hard work properly next sem.. think the numbers of high fever since young have permenantly burnt my brain, "memory part" is out of warranty already... have to work hard in converting school work into "logical" and hardwire it into my pea brain.

People around me always thought I am a mugger. I am not a mugger by choice...
I have no choice but to be a mugger, because I am the only one who really understand the amount of knowledge that really goes into the brain.. -_-"
Cui.

Oh great.... what a nice start for someone who aims for a 1st class to get a 2.9 GPA.
Think on the bright side Jiahe :) There's always the next sem to adjust and IMPROVE in your uni life!!
Let me do some caculation......
If I can just get a GPA of 6.1 next sem., I can still make it!!

..............

...6.1?

Up the lorry liao loh -_-"

Max is 5.0 by the way...

Day out. From Home, hall, Home.

Today, I went out with my family, in my dad's vehicle. The plan is to go out together, bring my sis back to NTU for her Dragonball camp this weekend, and also to bring along all the heavier things that we want to move to our hall. Along the way, we stopped at Chinatown to buy stuff like shampoo and food stuff. It will be a short post for today, the main things will be to finish up my Thailand trip update :)

Advertisements are ever creative. Check out this one on the "strength of a toilet paper".

And at Chinatown, their use of English was a bit funny as well.

ONCE TRY CONSIDER SOLD.

So before we can decide on which deodourant to buy, we will smell it first. But, if we found out that it's -_-", OH NO!! It's SOLD!!

Other explanations for their "Chinatown" English.

One Try Consider SOld - So I try twice and it's free?

Once tried Consider SOLD - So you still have to consider if you are selling it?

Once tried Considered SOld - Hmm... so must I try it once before you are going to sell me?

Once Try 空死的 (considered) SOLD - One try to Fully Empty it, then they are selling it. You want me to buy a dead EMPTY bottle!!??

Might as well they just write...

No testing.

I love China--I love Chinese--I love China--I love Chinese--I love China-

Tomorrow I am going out for NAF outing and canvassing for CAC FOC in the evening at Changi Airport T3. Yeah, shall enjoy the day :)

Hohoho! MErrieD Christmas.

24th, Christmas eve at Brewerkz, Clarke Quay.

Went out with Secondary school friends. These were the pictures.

Alvin and Guo Wei leading the way.

Guo Wei by the river.

The night scenary.

If we just slow down our pace and look around, life is really beautiful :)

I had a "fellowship" of 10 secondary school friends. 6 came today.
As always, I am the President of Anti Drunk campaign.

After.

Haha, act drunk. My camera can take 3 shots in 1 timer mode. And for this 3rd shot, we actually didn't say how to pose. And this comes natually. LOL! Guess the the 9 years of friendship did somehow tweak our brain "frequency" to be somewhere the same :P

When clock struck 12, the rampage starts. Saw a bit only, and realise that 此地不能久留 (ci di bu neng jiu liu - can't stay at current location, turtle sense danger.)

And off we went :)

Today 25th, Christmas.

I made Tang Yuan with my mum. It's has been a really long time since I played with glutinous flour. And as always, there's always a link to something.

Turtle, that is.

This turtle thing all started in Sec 1, and came out with "bear bear". Haha. Back then, my parther and I was cute and innocent young boys and girls, and cute minds create cute creations.
I may look like I'm still a kid when I talk about all these turtle crap.
But who cares?

Haha.. it's fun and so be it.

After it has been cooked.

Holidays are coming to an end soon... time really flies.

Back on the fast track :P

I am so glad that I woke up feeling "good". YeahE!!

It's late in the night (or should I say early in the morning...) at 1.22am.

It's been since a long time since I have a chat with a friend and felt being "loved".

amazinGRACE (Amazing Grace) started off a conversation with a "dearest jiahe".

Although I am 1 month older, her level of maturity and the way she have decided how she want to live her life, is way beyond older and stable than me. And that's why she gives me the elder sister feeling more than a just a friend.

The conversation ended at 3.03am.

Jiahe recoved SO mucH faster from chatting with her. Haha. Will enjoy this Christmas eve blissfully with my secondary school friends tonight :)

Have a Merry Christmas EveRyone :)

Seniors' Camp Day 2...

Haven't really recover from my "mood swing".... that's what girls usually say in their blog isn't it...?
Can't really talk much about it in my current state. But it really feels so sad to be going back hall alone after the camp, cycling alone... walking up the stairs alone... opened up the room with no roomie or other surprize waiting for me.... bath alone.... with a dragonfly.... washing my clothes alone.... listening to songs alone while I write this post....

As I walk out of my lonely 6th level block, guess a lousy mood makes everything feels lousy as well. Saw a pretty sight which I will usually admire at, but it just made me felt worst instead...

This is the night view at 7.26 pm from my hall.

The lonely sight...

There's totally no life, except for the little frog who will be there to greet me, on the path way, everytime I visit the laundry room for the past few days...

Went down to collect my clothes from the laundry room, knew that the frog will be right there waiting, so took my camera down as well.

When the skys clear, the moon was brightly lit.

The moon is so big and clear tonight.... the weather is rather cold. The only thing that can cheer me up a little is the meeting up with my 3 other secondary school friends in the evening tomorrow... like what I thought so as well, Alvin said that on MSN just now that "i cure myself by seeing friends"....

Shit me.

But I will be able to recover on my own, using my 21 years of inbuilt recovery system. The counselling sessions by Turtle™ programme should get me back on the optimistic side in no time. Hmm... think we all do get mentally "sick" sometimes, just like physical sickness. There's always a cure, either fast or slow.... Hope I will recover soon, on my own :)

Ok, shall stop writing down my life events for the next few days le... it's just not going to turn out good. I will be back here on the day I recover... can't write properly as well, and sad events are not worth recalling.....

run again turtle.... run.

CAC FOC Camp Day 1 out of 2, 22nd Dec.

Hey.. I am not done with my Thailand updates. There's much more to say, but anyway, first thing first. Since I won't have enough time to finish it, it won't take long to just write down today's happening.

Yes, first thing in the morning, met at 10.30am at SAC (Students' Activities Centre, in NTU). It's quite sad actually, I have no friends who joined with me as a GL ( Orientation Group Leader).... Was like all alone.. But was actually quite lucky, the Main GL Andrew happened to be in the same JC as me, and he happened to also pull a friend name Julian, whom I happened to know through my Secondary school GooD friend Ryan Woo, during JC. One look and talk with Julian like 4 years ago identifies him as the same frequency as me. So I really felt quite fortunate to have someone to crap and laugh happily with, for now....

Don't know why... but I felt quite sad during the camp, although I predicted that I would have enjoyed it, since the last Jiahe prediction. When Jiahe is not on the ^high^ side, he will not react properly to situations. Talking with me starts to become really boring, and as much as I try, I know my conversation is totally the wrong way. The introvert part of me starts to take over, as I hid back into my shell...... What da heaven is wrong with me....

Seriously, I am quite sensitive, as in emotionally, to skin contact. Touching guys is purely fine with me. Erm........ that sounds a bit wrong... But I mean not those Gay sHit touching la... But touching girls.... I still feel really... weird?.... shy?...??? (Dunno how to describe). during all the interaction games from the camp, I have to "bluff" myself that it's just a game, and I am just shifting"objects" around. When I hold girls' hands, I will have to "bluff" myself again that I was holding dunno what not... and not to think about it. During all the games, I was like afraid that those girls will fall, but usually I only stick out my arms, for them to hold if they needed them.
During a break, one of the guys was like asking me jokingly, "so how many girls have you violated? haha!".... My reply was, " I was the one who got violated, cos I am the girl lo. Haha". Yes.. The reason why I was the GIRL?? => I actually cycled to Holland Village's Settlers Cafe again yesterday for a hall outing, just 6 of us... then cycled back to Hall. Regret the journey totally, as I thought it's supposed to be short. (A bus ride from Clementi MRT to Holland Village actually ends at Buona Vista MRT area....-_-") So... today turtle can't run, cos his legs are totally "Cui-ed" (shattered). And most of the time end up Julian, 70+ kg, piggy bagging me, 55 kg, for most of the games, also due to the fact that most other "lao jiao" (old bird, which means "senior") female OGLs also don't feel like playing, or trialing, the games. For the first time, my nickname was "五十五" (fifty five), when they were asking who's lightest, and I unintentionally reviewed my weight. The "senior" OGLs were the people who took us during my CAC FOC, they were Chee Wee, Hui Zi, Yan Ling, Xiu Wen and one more JOKER named Yong Fu, literally. He is the "ultimate" joker... he can really make the whole camp turn into "Hougang Chalet". (Hougang Chalet - Institute of Mental Health, previously location at Hougang area, a better way to say). The CAC Exco Financial Controller, Pei Shan, my boss, almost died of hyper ventilation. She was up to the level of, laughing non stop even without seeing him, and looking at him.... the amount of laughter can like power a space rocket. (not saying she loud ah.. don't get me wrong :P) I did laugh a lot as well. But there's still a big part of me that is feeling not right....

Zzz... ZZZ.... ZzZ.... Zzz.... zZz....ZZZ..... zzz... Zzz... zZZ.....ZzzZ....Zzzz.....

Went back hall, cooked and celebrated 汤圆节 (tang yuan festival) with myself... Dunno what is it called la!! Haha. Bought 2 packets of
汤圆 from Sheng Siong Supermarket along the way back from cycling, so cooked it with Hot Chocolate...Woo.... I must say it ultra nice!! But how good can it be if I am eating it alone?

SO... I went to look around my Blk level 6 first. Only manage to find 2 overseas friend staying. Kenny (real name is Nguyen Huu Loc, pronounced as "Wind Wul Loc") from Vietnam and Daulet from Kazakhstan.. you know Borat? (everyone is like linking the country to this Borat guy... haven't watch it myself). HAha.
Ask them to try out the Chinese "dessert", and this is their first time eating as well.. They thought it was really nice! Both the food and the cook. LOL... ! Glad to know they like it. I actually asked both of them to my room, and while we talk to one another, I actually help to rephrase their slightly "unique" English pronunciation for each other sometimes. Think this is their first time talking to one another? All thanks to me :P And Kenny actually commented that my English is "weri good-de". Ha, think I haven't been speaking properly for a long time. Just realised that Jiahe (the inside me) really likes to talk to people and make them laugh. But it's only those who I natually feel close to, can really see and feel the real me... And I usually appear as what most people would have described me as. That is... the same first impression that you think of me when you met me for the first time.

Ok... this is the first post that I really talked about myself from all the reflection. Hope this is the last as well as this will make me super vulnerable to all the "secret @eyes@" out there.

It seems like, the things I talk about... the more easily "exposed" I am. All the search engines is like linking their search to my blog from a wider and W i d e r range of crap that I talk about in my life... searches for "ntu " hall 10 " blog", "ntu school of arts",
"night crawling ghosts", "mugger mug", "ntu wushu", "ntu hall 8", "star says lets101", "ntu exams" actually points to my blog in the first few searches... and I know these all thanks to statcounter.com.

And Yiwen, you know what? Searches for "yiwen's blog" can result in someone discovering and exploring my blog as well !!??

I don't really want the world to read about what rubbishy language that I can come up with and have in store. Although my philosophy is that laughter is meant to be shared... haha. But there's times when I feel like really writing something dark, like my 2 Eng Lit friends. But I can't because Jiahe (the Headquaters of Jiahe) tells me not to do so....

I called this way of writing the "intermediate level of Singlish". Been like living in Singapore for almost half of my whole lifetime already, and this is the most spoken language and "liked" by me.

Turtle sWaM back... from the "SEA" Games...

Woo... long time since I update. Has been kept busy doing things, got flu since I came back. The weather at Bangkok was unlike Singapore for the past few days. It's Sunny all day long with no rain. Temperature range from 10°C to 30, and I think that's the reason I got sick, due to the drastic low temperature at night. Back in the hotel, the supposedly air con can cool the temperature down from max 30 to 16°C, turned it to 30°C everytime, hoping it won't cool the air further. Of course it fail lo :P

Just a summary of events that happened first.
... (thinking in progress, many things happened.....)

1. Thailand trip 9th to 12th - 24th SEA Games were interesting, but the travel package schedule for the trip is totally boring.... Basically to the games to "support" and back to the hotel to "recharge", for the next day to "support" again.... no shopping, no "anyhow" walk walk sessions in plan from the travel agency....

2. Home Sweet Home, Wed 12/12/07 8.05pm ...

3. played "catching" with my runny nose 13th to 15th ( Sat),

4. 15th (Sat), Phototaking for my Hall 10 Soccer Match, lost 6-0.... (poor me need to write a nice writeup for that.... Zzz)

5. 16th (Sun) Rested at home in the morning, "book in" hall at 11 pm, for "Fastest Finger First" on Monday, 9.30am-12.30pm.
(Fastest Finger First = A day where kiasu students of NTU try to choose for their class slots so that they can go to school at their "preferred" time slots. Library internet connections is rumoured to be the fastest, and that gives it the name)

6. 17th (Mon) Jogged to Lee Wee Nam library, after "exercising" my fingers, walk-a-jog session with Qin Xian till 11.45am, met Alvin (roomie) for lunch, went back Lee Wee Nam to watch Alvin's episode of "Fastest Finger" at 1.30pm, went back hall, met Hall Table Tennis players, nothing to do, so went to support, photographer in charge of event not around, so became the photographer again, till 3-4... went with them to see carom at Hall 8, nothing to do again, so stayed there and played with Da Qing's (hall friend) Nikon DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex.. aiya, it just mean a super EXpensive camera...) till 9pm, went back hall.

Ok, now for those who are really bored and interested (eg: "future" Jiahe reading this..), this is the lengthy part... ( .....Realised that I can really write LOoo...ng CRaP only after I've got this blog...) Will try to keep it short for goodness sake..... Oh crap, I am adding on CraP as I write these in.... As long as you understand... I am not a CraPPy person. I will not add on more CrAP to my post...)

Here goes.

Thailand trip 1st day - On touchdown in Airport of Bangkok (-1 hr from Singapore time)
Took 2222 photos and videos.
@_@!! but shall just pick a few better ones.

The biggest airport in the world.

It's certainly a Steel Castle.

The interior

The Mascot for the 24th SEA games welcomes us.

The Shops

This is my bag. HA! Doesn't this looks familiar?
(To the ORDed boys Kelvin and Seng Kiat)

Yup! Used the army "no brainer" bag. It's easy to pack, just dump everything in :P

Planned to bring back lots of gifts and present, in the end... no shopping time in schedule!!??
-_-"

Erm.... taking a closer look...

Yeah, I totally understand it.
No photo of cameras with a strike out sign on it isn't it?
..
But who will bring such a photo..?
haha, anyway, I don't quite understand some of their things. They really amused me. Really. (The one above is a joke la). Will talk about it later.

And before I leave the airport...

Yeah... Illegal Wildlife Trafficking is punishable under the Law.
Confining turtles from running around is cruelty.

So start taking your pet turtle for a walk now if you haven't been doing so~!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ok, more things about the trip ~ In Korat.
There's actually many more winners who were on the same flight with us, tickets are won from TV's smses, Plaza Singapura, where the main winners are from.
MGS Cheer leading team was the champion in a inter school cheer leading competition, and they were fully sponsored to go to the SEA games as well, by Team Singapore. (MGS = Methodist Girls School, secondary level)
The lucky draw winners (and that's me) were supposed to go be there to cheer as well. And we paid $138 per person for the airport tax, just to do that :(
But it not that bad actually la... It's just that I feel that, since they (and us) actually paid so much to transport us there, why can't they just let us stay there maybe 1-2 days more to explore or shop around. I just think it's quite wasted lo.
If you watched the SEA games during that period... I was part of the noise-polluting team for more than half of the time.
We were given a Cheering Horn and unlimited supply of clappers.
The long manually blown thingy are the clappers.
~ Picture is taken during the Body Building event.
After every few rounds of "violent banging" from the "Singapore Armed Forces", the air-filled sticks need to be replaced.
"Let's go Singapore let's go!"
"G O G O Singapore Let's GO!"
"Singapore 加油 Singapore 加油"
These were the standard few that we'll use as cheer.
But have you seen before, a person with a Horn in Mouth, A camera is Hand, and cheering and walking around? There's photographers around, the cheer leaders in place, the security guards walking around. And I am a "3 in 1" most of the time. The people there must be thinking, Singaporeans are so cost efficient. Send such people to perform 3 person tasks.. haha.
But really, Team Singapore really sent very few photographers and writers over there. Had a chat with them, and they said they had to rush around this foreign place to take photos because of the "budget-minded" Singapore style. They had to cover simultaneous events.
Anyway, looking at the way they work, really pity them sia. These sports photographers have to run around, with their "Bazookas", from places to places. Check it out...
Some guy walking around with his weapon.
Audrey (Hope I get his name right...) - Our Team Singapore Sports Photographer, Olympus's only ambassador.
More sharp shooters.
Eh.. not really sharp... They are just shooting ping pong balls.
The entrance
There's this incident that I still find it amusing till now when I think back.
Maybe to let you know some things about every venue first.
Every entrance will have this "ticketing" and "security counter" before you go in, where they will check your bag for "DaNgErOus" items. Everytime, I went in smoothly, but at this Badminton Venue, it took me a bit longer to clear it.
The Security actually found something that may be "DaNgEr"!
A bottle of mineral water.
And you know what? They are so highly tactical and efficient. They "DeFUSEd" the "bomb" right on the spot... He opened up the bottle, threw the cap away, and returned me the bottle, with mineral water full... and he did some "caveman hand signals", which I decode as, it's to prevent us from throwing. Wow... I gave him the @@ face when he showed me the "I am the BOSS around here" look. Realised many others in front was like holding a "capless" bottle walking around, looking confused and annoyed. So..... I took back the bottle, chanted the SAF 7 core values in my mind, and finished the bottle, then I drop the empty bottle into the bin that is in front of him.
He looked at me, then I gave him the 若无其事 (as if nothing happened) de look, and walk off with my group.
Gosousama :) (thank him for the water in Japanese).
(All Singapore Army boys are trained to drink 1 full water bottle in any condition, even straight after a MEAL, to fulfill the so called "hydration regime" so we won't dehydrate and our “大头贴”(neoprints) appear on news. We always have to say these before we try to bloat ourselves up, "SAF 7 core values. Loyalty to Country, Leadership, Discipline, Professionalism, Fighting Spirit, Ethics, Care For Soldiers. Drink up... -_-" )
Okay, now into the games.
The most "used" winning pose for all.
And someone was as excited as the player :)
How pictures appears on Newpapers and magazines.
Woo.. all sniper ready.
Singapore overall just lost one match to Indonesia, and that's why we SILVER they GOLD.
Hmm... then I thought to myself. What a waste... but what will others feel? Saw some talking to themselves, slapping their palms on their thighs, after the results is out.
So I tried to imagine myself, with x1000 more agitation... and guess what.
(running senario in Jiahe's world)
~ I suddenly felt like doing something... that is............. to throw something at the "zhuai" Indonesian who keep shouting!!
The first thing that came to mind was... a BoTtle to throw.
I was furiously looking for a "made in Thailand" mineral bottle filled.. Arghh... I can only see my umbrella, my own full wATER bottle... BUT I JUST CAN'T FIND A "MIT" MINERAL WATER BOTTLE!!! Then I realised that the security guard outing side just took mine out!!? I have only learnt how to throw a Mineral bottle... tried a few swings with my other objects... I TRIED and TRIED, but I just can't throw!!!?? ARGHH.... guess I can't really do anything to get back at them... (sat back down to cheer... Well Done Singapore Well DOnE "ClaP Clap".......)
Wow... great work there security guards!
One riot saved all thanks to their smart move.
~Impressive
Body Building
One of the catagory of marks given comes under "audience response". As we all know, Singaporeans are all kiasu, anything can get MUST get.
Check out our "Made in Singapore" No 1 cheer leaders' power.
They can actually continue for every round when Singapore "Mocca models" comes out. (The musclemen loh, ahHA!)
In the end, I also joined in the fun. Took out my "ORDed" items and add on to red cheer horn (given by Team Singapore).
An artillery spec's whistle and ear plugs.
Ear plugs is recommended to be used with the Whistle, adviced by the Turtle Board of Health and Safety.
Cos...
The whistle can really kill :P
