Life's crawling faster and faster...

Political Association Youth Camp 14-17th July @ NUS 2008
Nothing Political.

This time, I came back as a councilor to help out. 1 year ago, Derrick, my SR Senior asked me to join this combine university camp and I joined as I thought I will not be having any camps in NTU as I heard that common Engineering will not have any camps, which is false. And I can actually join many other camps also. Only knew it after I receive the letter of brochures for camps that time. But anyway, I agreed to go so I went :)

The term councilor seems cool right.... but it's actually the same as "senior attached" of NTU's camps. So I am actually here to top up the numbers to make the camp look "bigger" than it is. And also, I came back as a photographer as well. Saw my sRJC CCA friend Wai Ling in the committee as well! It came as a surprize when Derrick realised she was in it as well from the PAYC blog.

Cos the committee was gathered only when the camp dates get nearer, that's why.

But on the second day of camp, I had to rush back to NTU for my CAC FOC's mass dance practice and meeting. This was already the second and last meeting, that's why I had to go as I would not want to miss out too many things as a GL.

After that, I took a MRT back, but when I reach the bus stop..... the bus service to NUS ends at 11.30pm. And my watch says 11.40pm.

Oh Great......

Then I decided to just walk back. But luckily, there's something in my pocket that will help me in my journey, and also, make it really interesting.

It's so COOL!!!

The 4 km journey is really super duper long.... I dunno why.
I ran a bit to make it it faster.
Then I also realise that my constant speed is around 12 km/hr when I was fresh and 9km/hr after 2 km passed.




And I didn't know that the GPS program also know how to motivate me to continue!!?

Anyway, if I am without it, I wouldn't have made it into that ulu route to Temasek Hall. I was amazed by it :P

Then the next day, it was Sentosa Beach Games :)
another of my JC senior, Derrick's batch, Jing Xiang also appeared to be the logistic driver. He is also not from NUS.

Then later, I just went around to take the photos of my group.

That camera actually belongs to the other photographer, also from NTU!
And he's Seng Keat. He's actually more involve in photography, and many of NTU events actually hired him to help them take pictures.

Most of the times, they enjoyed throwing people into the water, again and again.







They ask me to take photo of them but they were just too excited.... didn't check if the camera man is ready and they threw them already.

Then they had this "decorate the GL and senior" thing.





Then Wei Ming whom I know and also going CAC FOC, was down as well. haha!



Kenneth the director keep calling him Edison Chen and then the name spread :P

Before we left the beach, the sky was really nice.








We had our dinner at Mache in Vivocity. Given $200 to spend per table :)



For this camp, only 1 that I knew from last year's camp came back.
And that's Grace only.
Initially, I heard from Derrick that a handful of them will appear, but in the end, they didn't. Quite a sad thing as I came back here initially to see my friends :(
The camp dates changed, and so only 1 ex-freshie appeared during the Mache.

Someone from that camp actually ask me this.
"So you found anyone that you like?"

My reply was like....
"no lah! Actually I am back here to visit some old friends, but didn't know that the turnout would become like this."

Apparently, I realised that most people have this conception that guys join camps to know more girls, or to find a girlfriend.
(but I dunno about the girls side of the story)

Although I didn't get to see the friends that I am here to see, it's still a fun camp and I made a few more friends.

And on the last day. We took a group photo.

And on the last day, someone in the main committee was like thinking, how come I took the green shirt instead of the yellow. HAha!!! I must be doing quite a lot of things for her to think that way :P

Anyway, I had fun. Went back to rest for 2 days.... and moving onwards to my CAC FOC camp on the 20th :)

Okay! Always see a "Update your blog!" at friends blog, but when I check mine after 1 week, no one bugged me for a update. Haha!

Ok, I will just put a one paragraph comment for all the things I went through, in case in future, I do not have time to update.

Genting Trip 14-17 July 08

Slept less than 6 hrs every day
It was fun, learnt quite a lot of things. Took photos with lot of celebrities-like directors and managers from all over the world. haha.


PA Youth Camp 17-20 July 08

Arrived during mid day at Derrick's house (Derrick in my JC senior who's from NUS, and the one who jio-ed me to come for this camp 1 year ago). He had to settle some admin stuff, so in the end, only went to East Coast park to mid the rest in the evening. Took a van to Changi Village and that's where I start my job as a photographer. Initially, I was given the role of "councillor" and photographer. Don't be mistaken by the cOoL post given to me.... it's just equivalent to "senior attach" or calefairs... and we must still pay $25 for the camp.

In the end, the director, who is also my friend now, Kenneth, thought I was doing quite a bit of stuff. So he decided to waive off the camp fees for me. And he even asked if I will need some form of "reimbursement". HAha!

Anyway, the stupid me says, "it's ok lah! Haha....hAha"

It's okay lah :P

The camp is unlike any other camps. It's totally leisure, no forfeits, lots of sleep.. totally opposite of most university camps.
Slept like a pig most of the time, except for the last day when I helped out the main photographer in his video making. He is Seng Kian, and he is also from NTU!!? Wow, seems like we all have a link. And he also in CAC, knows some people that I know and here and there.

CAC FOC 20-25 July 08


It's was fun and all, but too bad, I didn't have enough sleep, so most of the times I behaved like a zombie.

First 1.5 days from Sunday 20 July 4pm to Mon 21st July 11pm

I was the fake freshie :P
I took a walk in Jurong Point before I joined as a "freshie" into the group.
I look totally "freshie" sia. Even more freshie then last year. LOL! Ok lah.... All I did was just changed my specs. But the only thing that I bluffed the other freshies was when they asked....

"you know where is the toilet?"

And I will always say.
"I think... i think it's over there...."

When I was still a Freshie on Sunday night.
First 0.5 day



Totally Fresher than Freshies. haha (that's what the freshies say)

At the end of Monday, only 1 person guessed it's me, the rest all guess the other person, and they were so sure that it wasn't me :P

The one person who suspect it's me is because he strongly feels something is wrong when I said something lame and my Main GL Hui Zi can't stand me anymore and threw her slipper at me... but it landed on that freshie's head instead. The point that he puts it... "Where got GL throw slippers at freshie one!!? Sure it's because they knew each other long ago lah".
Although throughout the first 1.5 days, I let myself away for some times,but he's good to have noticed this one :)

Anyway, the freshie's name is Song Qiu. He is a a big muscular guy but because of his name, we called him "sOo CUTE" all the time. haha!

Points to write about when I have the time.
1) How other "fake Freshie" got exposed so many times and yet the freshies are still as blur.
2) The zombified days without my sleep. First day less than 2 hrs, 2nd day 3-4 hrs, 3rd day somewhere there as well, 4th and 5th day, somewhere there as well. LAst day was my Forfeit day as my brain totally stopped functioning.

There's many more funny things to note down, next time then :P

Ok then on 25th camp break, it was about 11.30pm when I noticed, and the MRT has stop their services already. Tomorrow Sat, my hall GL have plans to make identities at 1pm, so I decided to ask Jia Yaw for help! Asked him if I can bunk in his room, and he said OkAY!
Haha, 有求必应 sia :)

But I woke up with a high fever. I was almost immobilized loh. Zzzz...
Then in the end, only helped out a little then went home to rest.

At night, my parent's room turned into A&E department loh. Panadol didn't work well on me. Mum "iced" me every 1-2 hour. Hydrate me every 1-2 hours... wah. My temperature was around 40 degrees plus minus... usually plus. I didn't sweat at all even after all the blanket, I felt cold even when I am at this temperature.... it was horrible. Wow, my mum really saved my life again. No wonder there's this news report which says domestic engineer (all mums) really worth a lot.

I must really thank my mum :)

Ok, need to go for my rest before my camp starts again...
And I am beginning to miss CAC FOC!?

As always, Genting fast food is cheaper than ordinary food court food.

Have been doing a lot of things lately, but do not have time and the internet connection to update even if it's just a bit. Mad rush around the ends of Singapore. Seng Kang, Boon Lay, Paya Lebar, Chinatown, Dhouby Ghaut, Orchard, Boon Lay, Buona Vista.... it's all fun, but too much fun for me to take it. Anyway, went NUH to visit a good friend I knew since Sec 1 NCC, Wei Yu. He just had a operation for slip disc (spine injury). Although he don't look quite well, felt more relieve as he seems to be getting better.

Ok, just a summary of what's in store for me.

8th CAC FOC Canvassing in the afternoon (2 hr travelling to and fro, as good as whole day gone)

9th morning and afternoon some work, night time meet up with Hall GLs at PS discuss camp and meetup
(Thanks to Ser Min for the enthusiastism in attending the previous briefing and organizing, in place of this ever busy assigned "BL" (that's me -_-")

10-13th Genting Trip (not purely for fun, going with colleagues to learn something, take it as a good break before sch.. hope so :P)

(updated on the 8th...) 11th, 14-15th CAC FOC Preparation, Mass dance, Identity making, admin... (have to miss at least for 11th)

13th PAYC Briefing (can't make it)
14-17th NUS PAYC Actual Camp
18th break for clothes washing session
19th Attend a 1/2 day photography session at my Anchorvale CC (free eh!)
20-25th NTU CAC FOC
26th break for clothes washing and body repairing....
27th NTU Hall's Seniors' Camp
28th to 1st August? Hall's FOC

August - Hall Sweet Hall..... Sem 1 round 1... fight......
