To the doctors office we go......again!

So if you have been keeping up with us, you know that Jameson has had Bronchitis like 2 times and has not recovered from the last time he had it. The second time he had it was back in January when it snowed. He got better for a few days and he started wheezing and coughing again. Since then I have taken him back to the doctor 3 times and nothing seems to be working. The first time I took him back he was put on breathing treatments and cough meds. That didn't work at all. The second time I was told to keep him on breathing treatments and the doctor added a steroid to the mix. His pediatrician seems to think that it is just seasonal allergies and that he will eventually get better when the weather calms down. He told me last time we went, which was about 2 weeks ago, that this round of steroids should fix it and he will be better within 6-8 days. Well, he didn't get any better. We increased his breathing treatments and everything. So I took him back to the doctor yesterday because he coughed all night long the night before. When I say cough, I mean cough until face is red and gagging. The doctor told me to keep doing breathing treatments, which he has been doing for a month and a half now and they are not helping anything, and he gave him Singular and Zantac. Zantac is for acid reflux. Jameson doesn't really spit up much, but he does occasionally and he burps a lot and you can tell it comes up in his throat and he swallows it back down. Acid reflux can cause wheezing and coughing and I didn't know that. So, we are still on breathing treatments and 2 new meds now. I hope and pray that this works. He is also sending us to a pediatric pulmonary specialist at Children's to do some more in depth tests on Jameson. I dread that day, but we will hopefully find out what is going on. His pediatrician is not concerned at all, but still wants us to have him checked out since it has been going on for months now. So, I am asking that you pray for our little man that he gets better on this new medication and that it is just allergies that is making him sick. I hate giving him breathing treatments and he hates it just as much. I also hate hearing him wheeze with every breath he takes and seeing him cough so much. He doesn't act sick and it doesn't seem to bother him, but I worry about him 24 hours a day. I know and believe that God will heal him. Please just pray that he gets well soon.

On a lighter note, each time I take him to the doctor I get to see how much he weighs and that is fun. He weighed 19 lbs 6 oz. yesterday. He is in the 50% percentile. He is perfect! Anyway, just join me and Rusty and pray for our little man. Thanks for reading!

Watch him....Watch him....What are you doing?

These are the most used words in my house right now. Jameson is crawling all over the place and has the cutest crawl I believe I have ever seen. He looks like a hopped up bug when he crawls. Anyway, it seems that I am always saying, "Jameson.....what are you doing", or "Jameson, come back". And when Rusty is at home I feel like I am always saying "watch him, watch him". So not only is Jameson crawling, and might I add, very quickly now, he is also pulling up on anything that he can find. When he first started doing this, he had no idea how to sit back down on his bottom and would just let go and fall flat on his back and head. Now, however, he has learned how to sit back down on his bottom very slowly. It is so funny to watch. When he first started learning how to sit back down, I would clap for him and he loved it. Now every time he sits back down on his own, he looks at me and smiles. He is waiting on me to clap for him. When I say he pulls up on things, I mean things like the couch, chairs, laundry baskets that flip over, window seals with very sharp edges, dogs, cats......etc. You get the picture. So I am a nervous wreck all day long. When he wasn't mobile, I could sit him safely on the rug and he would sit and play while I washed dishes or cooked supper. Now he follows me everywhere and puts everything in his mouth. So I have to watch him like a hawk all day long. Not that I mind because I think he is so cute. I digress.....
Back to the crawling thing, I have to share this very gross story with you because I am sure that it has happened to all of you at one time or another. Our cute little dog Lilly likes to tease Jameson. He discovered her food bowl several weeks ago and she likes lure him into the kitchen where she eats. She will run and get a piece of food and bring it to the rug where he is playing. He of course notices and decides to follow her the next trip. So after several times of pulling him away from the food bowl and taking dog food out of his hand I moved the dog food into the laundry room thinking he wouldn't find it there. Something else that is so funny is he knows he is not supposed to get the dog food so he will casually ease his way toward the bowl and once it is in sight, he makes a run for it. Our kitchen is tile so you can hear those little hand and feet tapping the floor so fast. Going on with my very long story.....the dog food is tucked away safely in the laundry room and Jameson has no idea where it is. He keeps crawling over to the old spot and looking around trying to find it. Well, little miss Lilly decides to lure him into the laundry room now. She goes to get the dog food and brings it into plain sight for Jameson. So he follows her into the room. So I am in the kitchen and notice that Jameson is crawling into the laundry room. When I go to pick him up, he is sitting on Lilly's tee tee pad playing in her tee tee. Yes, I said it was gross. So I immediately pick him up and give him a little sponge bath. Well, Easter morning, I was cooking breakfast and Rusty had gone into the other room for a minute. I thought he had Jameson, but he didn't. So I hear Jameson in the laundry room. I immediately run in there and find that he is playing not in Lilly's tee tee, but her poop. He had some in his hand and was looking at it. Luckily I made it in time before he put it in his mouth. We keep her pads clean and changed and there was no poop that morning. I think she pooped on purpose and lured Jameson in there just to see what he would do. When I got in the laundry room do you know who was sitting right beside him looking at him........Lilly! She does it on purpose. So now, we have to keep the door closed to avoid messes like the one I just described. It was funny, but I freaked out a little. All of that being said, he is just growing and changing every day. He is so smart and I could type all day long stories about him. I will leave you with a cute picture of him standing up.

Easter Fun!!

Well, we had a great Easter weekend! Sunday morning we got to sleep in late because our church service didn't start until 11. When Jameson woke up he saw that the Easter Bunny had left him some goodies. He really liked his basket, especially the bubbles. I would blow the bubbles and he would try to crawl and catch them. He had no idea what was falling from the air, but he liked it. After that, we got ready for church and headed out. Jameson was so cute. I found him the cutest hat to wear with his little Ralph Lauren polo. He also had on some adorable shoes. Anyway, the hat thing lasted about 5 minutes and he would have no more hat. So it was a waste of money, but so cute.

After church we headed to Gi Gi and Pops house for some lunch. It was delicious. After some good family time and eating, it was time for a nap. So after Jameson woke up from a nap it was time to go to Gam and Paw Paw's house for more food and an Easter egg hunt. Jameson found an egg and quickly lost interest. He had rather eat the grass than hunt for eggs, so he did. The whole "put everything in our mouth" stage is about to kill me!! Anyway, we finished off the night with a good ole bath and went to bed. It was a great day of much needed family time and food.

Um.....looks good.

Opening toys that Gam and Paw Paw got Jameson for Easter.

First Words

I forgot to mention yesterday that Jameson has said his first word.......guess what it is....."da da". Of course. Let me preface this blog for all you pessimist out there. I understand that babies usually babble and spit out "da da" first, but Jameson doesn't just randomly spit out "da da da da da". He looked at Rusty and said "da da". I also understand that he probably has no idea what he is saying, but I like to think he is trying to communicate. So back off! Now that I got that off my chest, it is the cutest sound ever. Granted sometimes Lilly walks in the room and he says, "da da", but I just pretend he is trying to say "dog". Anyway, last Wednesday night he just started saying it and Rusty, of course, had to get it on tape. If Jameson would have said "ma ma" he wouldn't have even thought about filming it. Just kidding. Another cute little thing he does is when I say "ma ma" he will look at me and when I say "da da" he will look around for Rusty. So he is starting to recognize words and who we are. I am so proud of him and love to hear him talk and babble.

The other day Jameson woke up from his nap and this is what I saw when I walked in. It was so cute. I immediately ran back downstairs to get the camera. He looked like a little ghost sitting so still in his bed. The picture showed his hand trying to pull the cover off, but when I first saw him he was just sitting there babbling under the cover. The second picture is what he looked like once he realized I was there to get him up. I am also including a picture of him doing his breathing treatment. He looks so pityful, but still so cute! Enjoy!
