There are a few things the boys have been waiting to do. One of which was bowling. They finally talked us into taking them Saturday night. They had a ton of fun and think bowling is awesome. They even set up a bowling alley in our basement. We're glad they had fun.

Our First Snow of the Year

The boys were so excited about the first snow of the season. We woke up on Tuesday to find a beautiful white blanket. The boys were up at 7:00 and wanted to go out to play before it was even light. It was so magical for them. I was glad they were excited.
There are actually a lot of things I like about winter time. I love the holidays. This year we are all planning to spend a lot of time snowboarding at Beaver Mountain. I also love being able to spend more time inside and keeping my house clean. I love having dinner ready when Rett gets home. I love working on sewing or crafting projects. But mostly I'm grateful for changes in the season. I am always ready for the next season to arrive and look forward to the changes it brings to life. Winter time is here!

School Pictures

Crew loves kindergarten still. And we are so glad he loves it so much! He's so cute! Here are his school pictures. His smile is not exactly him, but I'm sure they told him to smile and he was probably nervous so this is what it turned out as. It's still really cute though.

Soccer

Crew got to play soccer this fall. He loved it and was pretty good for never playing before. Rett told him through the whole season that if he scored a goal he would take everyone to ice cream. The last few games is when Crew started getting the concepts down better. He's still not super coordinated enough, but it's getting better. The very last game was also the opening of the waterfowl hunt, so Rett wasn't there. But Crew seriously came within an inch of making a goal. It hit the goal post. So Rett took us all for milkshakes! He was on a 5 & 6 year old team.  It was amazing the difference that a year of playing made for kids. So he's hoping to be super stealthy next year! Way to go Crew, we're so glad you had fun playing soccer!

This is The Place Park

So, after Seth's wedding, we decided since we were there, and it was free, we would explore the park. It was a lot of fun for the boys. The petting zoo was definitely among the highlights! But there was tons of cool stuff, and we didn't even get to go through the whole park because the boys ended up getting really tired and whiney. Don't worry though, when we would say that, they would insist they weren't tired! We got pony rides, got to watch a black smith working, tried stilts, saw a school house, and much more. The boys had a fun time, and it was nice to be able to walk around, talk, and spend time with family.

Seth & Jessica's Wedding

Seth Heston Sage & Jessica Elaine Futrell
Married September 29, 2012
Kimball Home - This is the Place Heritage Park - Salt Lake City, Utah

We had such a blast at Seth & Jessica's Wedding! It was lot's of fun, and we ate WAY too much good food. The boys were the ring bearers. I know my boys, and that they wouldn't wear black slacks very often, so I didn't want to spend money on new slacks. We had one pair, but it came with a little suit set, and didn't have belt loops. I was worried that without belt loops and a belt, their shirts wouldn't stay tucked in, and they wouldn't look nice. So, I asked every mother in our ward if they had black slacks we could borrow. We found one pair. The week of the wedding I still needed one more. My cute Retter, who knows nothing about sewing, came up with the brilliant idea that I simply sew belt loops onto the pair we already owned. I'm not sure why I hadn't come up with the idea before, but it was easy and worked great. The boys had been really excited for the wedding and getting to wear their new ties and spend time with family. But then the day came, and they were not so thrilled about wearing slacks and dress shoes. That morning, we got them all dressed up and they looked incredibly handsome. They were in strange moods though. I joked about Crew being jealous and realizing that he was losing Jessica. When Seth & Jess first started dating, Crew said he was going to steal her away from Seth. He and Drake both have absolutely loved and been a little obsessed with Jess. So I joked about that being the reason he was a little mellow. Drake was mad that his pants were a little longer than he wanted them to be. So, he started this grouchy mood. The picture below doesn't really do it justice. We walked to the little chapel they were married in and Drake walked like this the whole way. Hands in pockets, scowl on his face, dragging his feet, and muttering about how he hated stupid weddings (Sorry Seth & Jess!). It made me giggle! Our boys just would rather wear cowboy boots and belt buckles. But they ended up being alright with it and they looked so nice! They walked down the isle just perfectly and did just what they were supposed to! I was so glad! In the back of my mind I just kept picturing a public fit that would not only humiliate me but ruin the wedding! I'm so glad it went just perfectly! And it was a great time!

This was the 4th and final wedding in the Sage Family during the last 12 months! TJ & Megan were married last October, Ron & Teresa were married and did a quiet run a way wedding with just the two of them, Bree & Romain were married in August in France, and then Seth & Jessica! Crazy, fun, and we're so glad everyone has found someone to be happy with! But I'd be lying if I didn't say we are a little glad they're all over too!

Seth and Jess, we are so happy for you and hope you find all the joy that marriage can bring to a couple! It is so rewarding and so much fun! Congratulations!

The Boys were happy to get a ride on the Train!

And of Course we love to decorate cars!
And we have to mention because it gave us a little laugh...This is the second honeymoon this brown mazda has taken to Yellowstone! Seth & Jess took it 10 years after Rett & I did! We are so proud of the little brown bomber!
