Christmas #8 – The Peters

The next morning we headed to Great Grandma Lori’s (how lucky are Justin and I to still have our Grandmothers!) house for another fun family get together. Justin Cousin Shannon was there with her adorable little girls. Chloe and Lauren had a ball together! Taking picture of little ones is like a game of whack-a-mole. One little head looks up and the other looks down.

Christmas #6 – Hepfers, Kotchers, Mazzas

We finally arrived at my grandmas house for more presents and fun.

These cousins all have a great time together. We had a big ol’ slumber party that night and Justin made breakfast for everyone the next morning before we left for our next destination.

Chloe loves her grandpa!

Jake is getting closer and closer to being as tall as Great Grandma.

Christmas #5 – Santa and Presents from Mommy and Daddy

On Christmas morning the kids were so excited to see the things they asked Santa for sitting right under the tree. We have always told them to think of three special things they want. Jake and Chloe only had two this year and Wyatt had a hard time narrowing it down to 3! Jake wanted wii fit (which… and I’m only guessing here… was very hard to get. In fact, I think Santa waited for three hours at a Gamestop only for the shipment to not arrive. Then, Santa had to buy it for $40 over the asking price from some punk who showed up an hour late for pick up and left Santa freezing in a mall parking lot.) Anyway… he also wanted the Raving Rabbids TV Party wii game. Wyatt wanted 3 wii games: Lego Star Wars the Complete Saga, Nerf N-Strike and Sonic Unleashed. Chloe wanted the American Girl Doll, Kit and the Little Mermaid Styling Head.
Then they opened the presents from us as well. They were so excited to play with all their new toys. There is nothing like little kids on Christmas morning. It may be my favorite day of the year. We tried to leave at about 11:00 to head to my Grandma’s. But the crazy ice on the gravel road made it impossible. It look a couple of hours before Justin finally found a hill that he could get the van up. The pictures just don’t do it justice.

Christmas #4 – The Bucys

On Christmas Eve we went back to Jewel and Janis’ with Justin’s brothers, Jay and JT, the Ericas (Jay’s wife is Erica and JT’s fiancĂ© is also Erica) and baby Tyce (who will have a baby brother in February).

Every year Grandma Janis tells the kids the story of the first Christmas. This year she told it around the theme of gifts and giving. She started by asking the kids what they liked better, giving gifts or getting gifts. Chloe was sitting up front and looking so intensly while Janis was talking and immediately and without hesitation answered, “Getting gifts.” It was pretty funny. Then the kids opened presents. Chloe was so funny. She helped tear open every package and each time she opened a present she said, “Ooooh, I very wanted that for Christmas.” She also told us each time she had seen something advertised on TV.

Then, the kids went to bed so the grown ups could open presents. All three boys did fine, but our little night owl, Coco would have no part of that. She stayed up and helped Grandpa Jewel open each of his presents with all the same enthusiasm she had for her own presents. “Ooooh, you like that? Ohhhh, that’ll fit you.”

Christmas #3 – The Krulacs

On Christmas Eve each year there is a big get together with Justin’s step-mom Janis’ family. The kids always have lots of fun and so do we.

You can see this is a very heavily BOY family! This year there was finally another little girl. Chloe didn't seem to mind sharing her spotlight.
