For Grandpa George. To say he's my "step-dad" doesn't really describe it, he is so much more than that. He was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer. He's currently undergoing a regimen of chemo and radiation and is holding strong. You can read more at:

You should know where the "garagoo" came from. A couple years ago at the height of Pokemono-mania Jake dubbed Grandpa George "Garagoo." Jake has long since moved on to naming us all other stuff, but Garagoo stuck with George and it has become a nickname he has for himself.
So, say some prayers and send positive thoughts Garagoo's way. Here are some pictures of a recent day at the beach with my mom and George.

We're having a combined birthday for jake and Chloe in June. So, today after school I took Jake a a few boys to Laser tag. It was Jake, Wyatt, Jake best friend, Jaritt, Jaritt's little brother Dayven, Jake's Buddy Ellis and Jake and Wyatt's cousin, Tony.

We had sub sandwiches and ice cream cake.

They also have a 4 year old who plays with Jake. Jake really looks out for Jack (who can be a bit anxious. Jake becomes very mad if anyone makes Jack cry. At first we thought he was just being protective of a younger child. Slowly we have realized that he finds the crying very annoying. But, he completely does not blame Jack. Here's a conversation we had recently:
Here is a video of the two. You have to watch it. It is hilarious!
He is finally smiling a normal smile for pictures. Wyatt on the other hand is in "fake smile" mode and also very sensitive to the "encouragement" that people give him to smile. So, the day they had the spring pictures taken, his whole class said, "Smile Wyatt, come one, smiiiiiiiiiile." So the picture they got is the exact moment before he burst into tears. I wish I had saved it (if you weren''t buying, you had to send them back.) It would have been perfect for some kind of grief counseling book. It was easily the saddest picture I have ever seen.

She probably caught at the ER when we went for that darn toe. Her fever started Thursday. By Friday morning she was much better but that afternoon she started to seem even sicker than before. Then she got a rash. My friend Julie diagnosed her over the phone. That woman really deserves an honorary medical degree.
