Moscow Ballet - The Nutcracker

The ladies went to see the Moscow Ballet perform the Nutcracker.  It was lovely.  Chloe would have probably enjoyed leaving after the intermission.  ;)  But she was a trouper and we bought her a lovely nutcracker/  :)

Grove Holiday Events

The boys were in the annual Holiday Program and the entire school went to see A Christmas Carol.   Both events gave great opportunities for ordinarily grubby boys to dress up. ;)
And for family to come watch them perform.

Chloe as Joseph

Chloe's preschool class did a little show and of course every little girl wanted to be an angel or Mary.  When those parts were taken, the teachers said Chloe said she would be Joseph.  The were so impressed that there was not so much as a grimace from her.  She can be so mature and amazing!  As it turns out, her costume was the most beautiful one there.  Grandma and Granpda came to see and there was a litlle refreshment hour afterwards.  Chloe's two best friend's at school are Vivian and Ian.  So cute!

Christmas Cookies with Garandma Lynn

Grandma Lynn came and created wonderful memories with the kids.  They made about a thousand cookies and Justin and I went out to dinner.  Who could ask for more?

Chloe insisted in being in the picture.  She is so funny!

Puzzle Pout

Funny story from Megan... Katy and Chloe were building a puzzle and since Katy is 3 and Chloe is 4 1/2, Chloe did most of the building but Katy was happily enjoying the experience.  Then the conversation went like this:
Chloe: "Mrs Morrrisss, come see what we did."

Katy: smiling happily
Megan: "Oh girls that is so good, let me take a picture"
Katy: still smiling happily

Chloe: "I did it all myself"

Then LOOK at Katy's face.

November 2009

I have fallen horribly behind here so I'm just going to try to take it month by month and then do a better job of keeping up!  I love that the kids have this record or their childhood and I don't want to let facebook put an end to that!

The pictures above are from Thanksgiving.  We trecked down to Lewistown, Peoria and Indiana and made it to lots of family gatherings.  Below is our family trip to see the festival of lights on Michigan Avenue.  THAT was a bit of a nightmare.  There were millions of people who had been camped out all day and the crown was about 10 people deep and the only people who could see in our family were the ones who were on shoulders.  Then when we finally decided we'd had it and tried to leave we couldn't get out.  We had to wait in a restaurant for over an hour during which time we realized that Jake had lost his retainer at Subway.  So, we went right there afterwards and this wonderful man there looked through the garbage and found it.  After all that, the orthodontist told us the next day at his appointment that he was done with that retainer. Ahhhhh.

Swine Flu-o-rama

What a long couple of weeks.  While I remained healthy, Justin and the kids took turns with fevers, aches, pains, etc.  I missed almost 2 weeks of work.  Here are some pictures of the sickies:

Happy 9th Birthday Wyatt!

We had planned a family party on Saturday, October 10th.  However, Wyatt came home sick on Friday so we canceled that party and rescheduled at Laser Quest on Monday, the day before his brithday.  The kids all had a ball.

The little kids couldn't do the laser gun battle but they had fun anyway!  How cute are Katye and Chloe dressed alike.  It's just like having two girls!

We had hot dogs and chips.  Wyatt requested a donut cake and that was a big hit as well!

By the end of the that night he did not seem himself so I took him temp and sure enough he had a fever.  So he was home sick on his 9th birthday. Here he is opening his present.

And with his sick brother:

Post Placement #4

On October 2, 2009 a social worker came to our house to ask us about Chloe for the last time.  Russia requires 4 post placement reports.  #1 at 6 months home, #2 at 12 months home, #3 at 2 years home and #4 at 3 years home.  Our court date was November 13th, so we are getting close.  The end of September marked three years since we met our baby girl.  http://sallyfoo.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html

Chloe Story

My friend Megan emailed me the following story after seeing Chloe at preschool.  "tried to call you... saw Chloe as i was dropping Jack off for Discovery! She said "hi Katy!" and I said "Oh my gosh Chloe are you in that room? THat is the SAME room Jack was in last year!" She nodded , said "YEPPPPP!" and then i wish i had a video camera.. she raised her eyebrows, lifted her chin and sort of marched/skipped into the room like "yes i am a big girl, you see Katy!" two other moms watched it with me and we all exploded in laughter when she disappeared in the room... i said "well, she told me huh!!" and the other moms were like "wow! did you see that? she is in charge, isn't she?" so funny. "  THAT is sooo Chloe.  She has become so confident and so much more outgoing.  She is just a riot.

Grove Carnival 2009 - Day 3

The final day of FUN!  Above is all three in the shirts from last year.  Last year our family won the contest for the shirt and Justin's amazing drawing was on all the posters and shirts.  It was exciting for the kids...and me!

This is what two little girls look like at the end of their 3rd day of fun.
