The weekend after Jake's birthday we had a little backyard bbq to celebrate with family and a few neighbors. It was fun!

Jake's Turns 10
I can hardly believe it. 10. 10. Where did the time go???? A decade? You have got to be kidding me. It really feels like just a few years ago that he was born. It actually feels like it was about 4 years ago. How can my baby be 10? Here he is in his birth announcement picture:
Here he is at 1 year old.
Jake's birthday fell on a Wednesday so we couldn't do anything too big on the actual day. When he woke up we had his present all ready for him, a dsi. It is apparently the most super cool electronic thingy around, dontcha know?
Sorry that he seems to be chewing in every picture. It is very busy on the weekday mornings!
One of Jake's favorite poses with his siblings.
Then that evening he got to pick his favorite dinner. He chose steak, mashed potatoes with gravy and broccoli. He would have preferred asparagus, but we didn't have any. Then we went out for ice cream to Jake's favorite, Cold Stone Creamery. Here are the boys messing around on the way there I love the last one. It shows so perfectly how much fun they have together

It is so funny that this is his favorite place because their big thing is putting candy in the ice cream and I had to talk him into even adding marshmallows. He is so funny.

All Kids Do It
Chloe did it last October. Wyatt did it when he was 5 and Jake, my little late bloomer, decided to wait until the day before his 10th birthday. The DIY haircut! Here he is with the hair the way I like it.
Here he is after his chop job, which was apparently due to the fact that it was really bugging him and really in his eye. Never mind that the appointment was made for later that week:

And here he is after the stylist evened it all up.

Oh well. Hair grows. :)

Mothers' Day
Before the boys got home from their campout, Chloe and I went to my mom's to give her a present, wish her a happy Mothers' Day and hang out with her and George. After that we kept it pretty low key because Wyatt came back with a fever.

Boy Scout Camp Out
There is an annual cub scout camp out. Now, I enjoy camping. BUT, I really did not feel like waking up surrounded by then entire scout pack. So, I quickly got Chloe excited about a girls night with mommy and we opted out of the camp out. Here they are getting ready to leave. I wanted to get a picture of the 3 guys ready to go, but Chloe would have none of that!

Mothers' Day Gift Photo Shoot
Last year we made hand print t-shirts for the kids' grandmas and so this year I thought it would be fun to make bags with the kids' pictures on it. They actually turned out very cute! I can't believe I didn't get a picture of them before sending them out. Grrr. I might make myself one. So we had to have a little photo shoot before I could make the bag. It was like Christmas is May. All the tears and drama of trying to get a Christmas card picture. Haha. I always think it's funny to see all those pictures in a row. Just notice... there seems to always be someone who isn't looking. I can't imagine how anyone with 4 or more children ever gets a shot of everyone smiling at the camera. Haha
We started inside...

Kite Fly
On May 2nd the village of Barrington sponsored a kite fly so after baseball we went for a little while. We missed most of the free kites, but did manage to snag one. Kite flying is always fun!

Grandma and Grandpa George gave Jake a bike! He really needed it. Wyatt outgrew his and said he didn't need a new one, he'd just take Jake's and we could buy Jake a new one. Then he took it. That day. So, Jake realllllly needed one. ;)

At the end of the year Grove School has an open house and the kids get to show off all the wonderful things they've learned trhoughout the year. The boys have worked so hard this year. I am so proud of them!

Here are the wonderful presents from my 3 kiddos. Chloe made me a candle, Jake wrote the poem, Wyatt made a magazine and they all bought me a plant and yummy candies.
Here you can read Jake's poem.
Isn't that so lovely! Their teachers are amazing!

Then moved outdoors...

I have more pictures of Wyatt in trees than you would believe! So, of course he shimmied right up this one.
Chloe HAS to do whatever they do, but since she's little she just kind of hugged the tree. So cute!
