First Day of School 2009


Another year begins!  Sometimes it feels like the summer went so fast, but we did so, so much that I really do feel like we got our summer!  Jake started 4th grade and is so happy to be with his summer school science teacher, Mr. Bergquist and his best buddy Jaritt.  He's also with Delaney and Maddy which is great for me because it gives me two friends to help me remember what's going on!  Olivia (another neighbor is with them as well.  Out entire block seems to be in the class!




Wyatt is started 3rd grade with the most wonderful, young cute, smart amazing teacher.  Yeah!!


Another super fun thing happened on the first day of school, the Jesse White Tumblers came along with Jesse White himself!  It was quite a show!

Princess in Rain Boots

I am camera crazy and always taking the kids pictures.  This day the kids were having a lenonade stand with the neighbor kids.  Justin came running in to get the camera because Chloe was too cute and he just had to take her picture.  I don't blame him at all.  There's nothing like a princess in rain boots selling lemonade.

Little Cake Bossed

There's this show on TLC called Cake Boss.  http://tlc.discovery.com/tv/cake-boss/cake-boss.html It's a reality show about a bakery and they make these amazing cakes.  The kids watched it at a friends house and loved it.  They kept talking about the cakes until I was inspired to pull out all my cake stuff and do a little cakes with fondant icing experiement with them.  They had so much fun decorating and they all helped crack eggs, etc.






 

We finished it off by making Yoda Soda from the Star Wars cookbook.  It was quite the event.

Bowling with the Meeks


We have the best bowling here!  It's a new place called Pinstripes.  Very upscale, nice sofas and good food.  They have a kids special so my friend Kim and I took the kids to bowl.  Wyatt loves bowling and Jake is actually getting a little more into it as well.  he used to just glumly walk up and drop the ball at his feet and not even watch as it rolled down.  Now he gives it a good try and seems genuinely happy when he hits some pins.  Yeah Jake!  Chloe is smaller than most of the balls, but insists on carrying it herself.  However, she will let some of the kids help her once in awhile.  ;)

Visit with Great Grandma

My great grandma turned 89 this August and is in better shape than a lot of people 1/2 her age!  The kids and I drove our for a little overnight visit.  Grandma pulled out the Go Fish cards and boy did we play cards!  Wyatt played a couple of games with Grandma and Chloe made me play about 10 games I think!  We had a really nice visit!

My Girl


What fun I have with my girl.  She is such a dream come true.  She is so funny these days.  SHe has to help with everything!  I tryto make dinner in a mad dash while she's busy with something else just so I can get it done quickly.  And she MUST try to do everything herself before asking for help.
