My friend Megan emailed me the following story after seeing Chloe at preschool. "tried to call you... saw Chloe as i was dropping Jack off for Discovery! She said "hi Katy!" and I said "Oh my gosh Chloe are you in that room? THat is the SAME room Jack was in last year!" She nodded , said "YEPPPPP!" and then i wish i had a video camera.. she raised her eyebrows, lifted her chin and sort of marched/skipped into the room like "yes i am a big girl, you see Katy!" two other moms watched it with me and we all exploded in laughter when she disappeared in the room... i said "well, she told me huh!!" and the other moms were like "wow! did you see that? she is in charge, isn't she?" so funny. " THAT is sooo Chloe. She has become so confident and so much more outgoing. She is just a riot.

Grove Carnival 2009 - Day 3
The final day of FUN! Above is all three in the shirts from last year. Last year our family won the contest for the shirt and Justin's amazing drawing was on all the posters and shirts. It was exciting for the kids...and me!
This is what two little girls look like at the end of their 3rd day of fun.

Grove Carnival 2009 - Day 2
We buy the 4 hour pass at a huge savings! Then they can ride all the want for those 4 hours! There aren't as many pictures of the boys because now that they are old enough they just take off and ride rides and catch up with me later.
Chloe and Katy rode sooo many rides together. Chloe is actually a year and a half older than Katy but they are almost the same size. :)
Here they are with Lauren who will be in kindergarten with Chloe and is exactly her size. There's another tiny one that I know of. I'm hoping they'll be together. A teeny tiny team. :)
Wyatt hamming it up with the little girls:
This year Chloe completely embraced the face paint!
This is what happens after a full day of Grove Carnival fun:

Grove Carnival 2009 - Day 1
The Carnival at Grove is a pretty big deal. A family who owns a carnival began loaning it to us when his children were in school year. 20+ years later they still loan it to us. It is by far the biggest fund raiser we have and people from all around come to it. Since we live right across the street we pretty much have to go all three days. Also, since the carnival is staffed mostly with volunteers from school, Justin and I take turns working all weekend. The day the carnival begins, the kids get to ride the rideas for free during the school day.

Justin brought them all back later while I was selling tickets. Here's Chloe and her buddy Ian. She and Ian go to Pat's together, preschool together and will both me here at Grove next year where both of their mom's are teachers! So much in common. :)

Chloe's First Day of 4 Year Old Preschool
She was already so comfortable with the school and is with lots of her buddies from Miss Pat's house so it was an easy start.
These are the three girls that go to Pat's:
Chloe is a lefty for sure. She used to use both hands but now only uses her left to write.

Bike Ride
What a fun thing to do as a family! We went for a long, long bike ride through town and stopped at a park.
Then rode through a nature preserve. Chloe rides in the little carrier on the back of the bike. I wish we could do this more. There always seems to be somthing going on. On the way back Chloe wanted to stop and have her picture taken with one of the horses that are all around town. It's kind of like the cows in Chicago years ago.

Jake's Glasses
A year ago the eye doctor thought Jake would need glasses in about a year. And sure enough at this visit, they determined that he needed glasses for distance. But, he only needs them at school in the classroom at this point so that makes it easier. I thnk he looks so handsome in them.
