Grandma Nance

On Saturday, November 7th, my mom's mother passed away. She was 84 years old. She was my last grandparent. I was very sad to see her go. And although I was sad, deep down I'm very happy she's healthy again and reunited with my grandpa. Their headstone was good closure for me because I got to "see" them together again.

Although it was a sad time, we really enjoyed being able to see family again. Wyatt had fun playing uncle, and I think the kids enjoyed seeing him also! What do you think?

Here is a rare treat we got to see this weekend. Aizy smiling! She wasn't too sure about all the unfamiliar people!

Here's Aizlin, Ryker and Kai.

Leah, Matt, Aizlin, Kai and Ryker.

Dad, Mom and Jeff

Dad, Mom and me!

We got to go visit the hospital where I was born.

Grammy and Aizlin

Pops playing with toys! I thought this was cute!

My mom's childhood friend Theresa and her husband Vic were kind enough to take in my sister's family and my brother as well. They were a big help this weekend! We also really enjoyed visiting with them and getting to know them again as well!

Here's Leah outside Royals stadium

And Jeff outside both the Chiefs and Royals stadium. We have really good childhood memories from there! I remember walking up that winding ramp in the background! It was so fun!

And here's my first attempt at posting a video! Aizlin loved that "Mickey" in the box!

Busy busy month...

So, what have we been up to this last month? We were able to go to our first Get Up Kids concert at the end of September. Neither one of us has seen them live, or really listened to their music before, but we had a great time! I was sad because cameras were not allowed in. So this picture above was the only one you'll get to see! Thanks Rob and Ryan for the free tickets!!

October 8th-10th was my 10 year high school reunion!!! Can you believe that?? Now I feel like I am officially an adult! Ugh... Anyway, it was so fun to go because I got to spend time with two of best friends, Kalena and Ido. We were all best friends through high school and college. Ido is on the left and Kalena the right (above pic). We haven't been all together at home in Texas in about 8 years!! So it was sooooo fun to get to spend that time with them again.

In high school we all used to go hang out at IHOP in the middle of the night and play games. So we left the reunion's mixer to go to IHOP and relive those high school years!! That's me and Sam.

After IHOP we crashed Mike's party! Little did we know we'd be there until 5am!! We decided to leave when the paperboy started making his rounds! It was so fun though to get to see everyone!

The next day, Ido's sister planned a birthday party for her. She ended up making the party for all of us, so that was really nice. Ido's birthday was on the 8th, mine on the 13th and Kalena's was at the end of September. That's Emily down on the right hand side. She was only able to hang out for a little while that weekend. But we had fun with the pinata! Typical Ido tradition!!

I was getting spun around just before my turn to swing!

Our birthday cake!

Finally, the dinner/dance for the reunion! Aren't we cute?!

My mom got us a cake as well! Chocolate Truffle cake! Yum!!

I was sad I couldn't spend more time with my parents. My mom took me shopping for my birthday at the new outlet malls that are about 45 minutes from McAllen. That was fun! And I was glad I was able to spend Sunday with them as well. It was nice being home again. They've made a lot of changes! But it still felt like home!

I got home just before my birthday, so Clint and Natalie joined us for a birthday dinner at The Burger Bar. It was so fun and very delicious. After the hard nights of "partying" till 4-5am everynight in Texas, I got sick and lost my voice for about a week and a half. So that part of my birthday wasn't fun, but that's okay.

And after being gone all weekend without Wyatt, I was so glad to be home! I missed him and wished he could've been there too!

After numerous inquiries about where I've been...here you go!

So, life has not been too exciting here at the Salo home! You may have noticed from the lack of posts. But that can also be attributed to the fact that I can be pretty lazy when it comes to 1. downloading pics and 2. posting them! I love taking pictures, but I hate actually doing anything with them! :) Anyway, in August we went to Montana for a few days for a little Salo family reunion. Wyatt loves getting together with all of the brothers! The above picture is the view of the mountains outside of his grandpa's cabin! It's so nice out there!

The brothers...Clint, Troy, Wyatt, Devin and Tyler.

The whole clan!

Me and Savannah

We went out to a lake one day to fish and canoe. The water was freezing!! But it was fun!

That night the kids spent a couple of hours entertaining us. It started with these cups of M&M's. You can make good rythm with M&M's!

Then it turned into a dancing party! They danced and danced! Meanwhile, it was time to get ready for bed. So one at a time they got put in their jammies but came right back to continue the party!

After they were done, we tried to line everyone up for a group shot. But, like I said it was bedtime, so it didn't turn out too well.
Last but not least, we got to see the Tetons...it wasn't the clearest day but we could still see them. I forgot to take out my camera, but we went through Rexburg and visited our old stompin grounds. We ate at the Taco Bell where we met, we got to see my old managers Sandy and Amanda. And it was really fun because we got to see our old friends Angie and Larry and their family! It had been almost 6 years since we've seen them!
Then we went to Idaho Falls and visited with Ido and Blaine. Again, I forgot my camera! But Blaine got plenty of pictures, so maybe I'll get some from him! It was good to see them and see where they live. We got the grand tour of the news station where Ido works. Very impressive!
Overall, we had a great trip! I will try to do better at posting! :) Thanks for your patience and thanks for checking on my blog!

Playing catch up!

This post will be a little backwards but that's okay! My parents were here in Vegas this past week. We had a lot of fun hangin out, eating and shopping! It was great to see them again!

We were walking around Mandalay Bay and the Luxor after we visited Wyatt at the Shark Reef. These two pictures above were from Mandalay Place. We were taking a quick breather on our way to the Luxor.

My mom loves Egypt and all it's history. She says "this is the closest" she'll get to the real thing!

We got a real treat and got to see Wyatt diving! We've been here a year already and this was the first time I've seen him dive! So we got to take a picture together! I loved this picture! :)

After my parents left on Saturday morning, we got to spend some time with Logan, Devin, Clint, Natalie, Lucas and Kaitlin! We had a BBQ with hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, etc...Yum yum!! We had some left over party favors from Wyatt's birthday, so Lucas had fun with the little blower thingy! Kaitlin thought it was pretty funny too! She was cracking up!

I just thought she looked cute here!

Cute shot of the Boys playing XBox. Good times!

And way back in April, Wyatt and I went to California. We love going to Huntington Beach when we're there. We always sit by Ruby's on the pier.

Here's Wyatt doing what he does best!

Sorry Matt, I don't know where you are! :)

I loved my cake!!
