Lubbock!

Check out Sam's headlamp. We were packing in the dark!

We made it to Lubbock! Finally! I have decided that I never want to move again. Way too much work. Before we moved we really thought that we didn't have that much stuff. Not so! We don't own any furniture except our bed and our stuff and it took up my volvo, sam's truck, and a whole trailer! I don't know how people move across country with kids and a fully furnished house! We thought we could make the drive from Provo to Lubbock in one day since the drive was supposed to take about 15 hours. We left Saturday at 6am and by 8pm we had only made it to Albuquerque and had 51/2 hours left and we were way too tired! How we still had over 5 hours and we had already driven all day we will never know. We decided that we should stay in a hotel for the night. We had one problem. All of our stuff in the back of Sam's truck was exposed and not locked up. I was paranoid that someone was going to steal our stuff so we hauled it all into our tiny hotel room for the night and then reload it all in the morning. Our neighbors who saw us hauling all of our boxes into our room for the night thought we were crazies! Oh, our clothes were in the back of the UHaul trailer so the clothes we wore all day Saturday we had to wear to bed and then all the next day too!

I was not excited to repack all of the boxes!

On Sunday afternoon we finally made it to our new place. We love it!!It is new, and clean, and white! After living in a basement for 2 years one forgets how bright it is in the morning in a place that has windows and is above ground! Since we only have a bed we have had to buy table and chairs, washer and dyer, desk, book shelf, and a couch. Here is a pic of our new table. We love it! The weather has been cooler than usual and that has been nice. It is also greener than we remembered! Yea!

On the 8th it was our 2nd anniversary!Deciding to get married to Sam was the best decision I have ever made! He makes my life so happy! Love you, babe! We really didn't know where to go to celebrate because we don't know our new town yet. We spent the day shopping for our new apartment and ate at a bbq place. Also, another thing that made our anniversary so great was that I got offered a job teaching Kindergarten!! Yea! It is in Frenship school district which is a little suburb of Lubbock. I met my Kindergarten team and the principal and they all seem really great!

Goodbye basement!

Oh, how we will miss our yellow refrigerator, the wood paneling, and the orange carpet! (We were in the process of moving in these pics. It usually wasn't this bad!)

Sundance

This year Sam won ski patroller of the year! Way to go, Sam! For winning he received a gift certificate for a 3 course meal for 2 at the Sundance grill! We were so excited to order things that we regularly couldn't afford knowing we weren't paying it. Sam ordered filet minon and I order salmon. It was delicious food and the best part was our bill came out to be $160 bucks and we didn't have to pay for a penny of it!
