A Practice Cake

So, my whole year of being a stay-at-home housewife momma has brought a few revelations to my life...

Days can either be the best thing ever and I am so happy I am where I am doing what I'm doing OR extremely dull, boring and lonely. There's also the times when I manically dream of running off to Ireland or somewhere by myself and starting this new dreamy life on the moors of Ireland. (I don't really even know that much about Irish moors, but it just sounds nice.)

So, in one of my too much time on hand days, I decided to make a practice cake for Sam's upcoming birthday this Tuesday (32!). Sam loves the ice cream - so I make him an ice cream cake each year. I found an awesome recipe for a Whoppers ice cream cake, one of his fav candies, so it was a match made in heaven.

And yes, it is DEE-LISH!

On a side note, here's some Lincoln lovin' his cat, Maui. He LOVES playing w/ Maui. He loves playing w/ him more than our dogs.

We got Maui in June, I think? I think he's about 6 months old. I can't get over how easy it is to have/take care of a cat than a dog. It's unbelievable! I've always hated cats cause they've always been mean to me, but one day I randomly had a change of heart for no reason other than I just love animals. Sam is still puzzled by it.

Day at the Park

Today we went to the Joshua Park. We got our first park here in town a couple of years ago and I'm quite impressed, it has a splash pad and all! Not bad for lil' Joshua.

Since living her, we've enjoyed taking our dogs for walks there, going out on the pier and watchng the pond, and it even has a little water station for dogs!

Our home was being shown today to potential renters, so we packed up and had us a picnic at the park, taking the dogs along for the outing. Besides, who wants pesty (friendly) dogs following you around while you're trying to advertise your home. It sits on 4 acres and there's a lot of outdoor buildings, pool, etc. to be shown, so we got them dogs out of their hair.

...I guess this was his compromise? Ha!

Fox and Wickett always make sure to stand on guard and alert of us of any oncoming walkers and fellow dogs. Aren't they cute!?

All My Lovies

I just had my first little go on creating a video (above) on a super fun app called, Socialcam. It's so much fun.

They have different filters you can use to make your video have different effects as well as music you can put with it.

It didn't take me but 5 minutes, or less, to whip this lil' one together. Super easy, super cute, and super fun. =)

SUMMER is Upon Us

This video is from last summer and is a very fuzzy Wickett swimming in the pool, as Fox, his brother, and Wickett like to do.

There's only 9 more days of school left for Sam, I can't believe it! Summer is almost here!!! I love it. Being a teacher definitely has its benefits, summer's off, a wonderful thing.

We just got our pool up and running again after a set back of finding a tear in the lining, after already having set it up for the 1st time two months ago. What a waste of $$$...we had to drain the rest of the pool, patch up the tear, refill the whole pool, and put all new salt & chemicals in it, again. But... it's ready again and I love it! I think it should be mandatory for every home in TX to have a pool during the summertime. We're going to try and enjoy every drop of it before moving on to our next home this summer, which I'll blog about later. We're very excited about this upcoming move, but will miss the luxury of a pool.
