s'ockey !!!

Well yesterday morning we set of for a bbq get together with a social club group from Gareth's work, I was a bit dubious as most of the women work together I would be sitting around bored all day. But as it turns out they are a lovely bunch and all the kids got along beautifully. It was a really good day, about 3pm we set off with some of the group to watch the s'ockey as Brad calls it LOL (Ice Hockey). Now I must say I LOVED my ice hockey when we were in the UK and we were season ticket holders with the Manchester Storm and rarely missed a game. Over here in OZ Gareth and I went to a game with Brad when I was pregnant with Sian and I didn't really enjoy it that much, but think that was to do with being heavily pregnant and uncomfortable. But last night I was totally drawn in once again. I have missed watching the Ice Hockey and I think it might become more of a regular thing this season. Both kids were well behaved and Sian was getting into it clapping and cheering LOL she looked so cute. At one point I went to the cafe, just as one of the players was being sent off, I had forgotten just how big some of those guys actually are. Me being my little 5ft, waiting for this guy to come out and sit down. I think he was about 6ft 10 with his skates on, and then with all his padding as well he was like a mountain. HAHA! I had recognized a name of one of the players but couldn't place from where, so when we got home I looked him up and got all excited as I placed the name as a guy who used to play for Manchester Storm, but after more investigation it wasn't the same guy, but just a guy that shared the surname. It almost seems like Niemenan is like Smith in Finland!! Oh well.
All in all I had a brilliant day. I was tuckered out when we got home so after getting the kids into bed and having some dinner, we watched some Supernatural that we had recorded and then I crawled into bed at 10 and read for a little while before crashing. Brad crawled into our bed AGAIN!! At around 230am :( I am hoping he grows out of it soon.
The social group are catching up again in June and I am looking forward to it, along with the ice hockey again this Sunday :)

On the scrapping front I finished the CJ I was working on and it doesn't look too bad, I am now about to work on an altered journal swap. It should be interesting and fun. I haven't done any challenges or anything this month though :(
Hopefully I will find that dang mojo somewhere LOL

Easter

Well Easter has come and gone for another year.
We headed off to SA to stay with mum and dad around 430am on Thursday morning, all was going well, kids woke up so we decided to stop at Ararat for breakfast around 8am, headed off and passed through Horsham, but about 5 minutes out of Horsham Sian was sick :( so we turned back around and went to a chemist in Horsham and picked up some travel sickness medicine for her and we were away again, only to stop 30 minutes later so that Brad could go to the toilet. While stopped I checked Sian's temp as she seemed a little grizzly and lethargic. Sure enough she had a temp of 39 :( We gave her some panadol and set off again. The rest of the trip went relatively smoothly and we got to mum & dad's in about 10 1/2 hours which is not really that much longer than normal.
The kids had a ball with their cousins and Sian has learned to say 'Charli' and 'Kara' (Charlotte and Kiara) very well. She is becoming a lot clearer and has learned a lot more words in the last 2 weeks.
I worked at the speedway with mum on Saturday and Sunday nights, which wasn't too bad, kept me active and helped with petrol money.
I made Easter baskets with the kids on Saturday for the first time. It was fun and Brad came running in on Sunday morning all excited, It was great. This is always what we did as kids rather than an Easter egg hunt. It is so cool to see their excitement. I can't wait to see Brad's face the first time the tooth fairy comes to him LOL he already is telling me his tooth is loose (even though it isn't)!! Not sure who has told him about the tooth fairy, but he knows lol!
Anyway. Monday came around way too fast and after a huge dinner (mum is awesome!!) we set off. I think we had reached the border before I had stopped blubbering. I spoke to Gareth about moving back to Adelaide as I am struggling to cope so far away from mum and dad... but it only took me 10 minutes to realize it won't happen. Unfortunately the type of work Gareth does is just not available in SA. I feel a bit better today, but as much as I love Melbourne and my friends here I just wish there was a way we could move back. I just feel like I am wasting time that I could be spending with my parents and the kids could be getting to know them better. I don't think it has helped that Brad didn't want to leave and already is saying I want to go to Nana and Grandad's I miss them mummy! I have my family and I love them very much don't get me wrong, but I really miss my other family so much. Not getting to know my nieces and nephews as much as I would like. I haven't seen my nephews since Christmas and am not likely to see them again now until at least October :(
My nieces are totally adorable and my 2 just get along with them so well.
Brad has been so not himself today, he is just being so cantankerous and sooky, I am not sure why, but it makes me a little sad as he just seems so sad. (gosh I am really having a whingy post day huh!)
Back to the gym tomorrow and back into some hard work and losing weight. I think I have put some back on over Easter and really want to work hard now at getting it and some more back off before mum and dad visit later this year. (a heap before my birthday would be great too :-D )
No motivation whatsoever to scrap. Really not interested at the moment and that's not a good thing as I have a CJ and some monograms and a Altered Journal to do before the end of the month!
Well I think it's almost time I thought about bed, been so tired lately, maybe getting back to the gym will help with this a little.

nighty night don't let the bed bugs bite!

bored

I am supposed to be cleaning house ready to go away, but I am sitting here in front of this silly piece of technology LOL (that I can't do without!!)
Can't wait til thursday so can just get over there! (there being mum and dads :D )Haven't got alot to say, but found another little quiz.... seems my colour really is blue

Your Power Color Is Blue

Relationships and feelngs are the most important things to you.
You are empathetic and accepting - and good at avoiding conflict.
If someone close to you is in pain, it makes you hurt as well.
You try to heal the ones you love with your kind and open heart.

to all my visitors, I hope you have a wonderful and safe easter

some fun

Just some fun stuff I found through other people blogs LOL

You Are a Black and White Cookie

You're often conflicted in life, and you feel pulled in two opposite directions.
When you're good, you're sweet as sugar. And when you're bad, you're wicked!

Your Blog Should Be Blue

Your blog is a peaceful, calming force in the blogosphere.
You tend to avoid conflict - you're more likely to share than rant.
From your social causes to cute pet photos, your life is a (mostly) open book.

woo hoo

I can get my wedding ring back onto my finger finally!!!!!! I am pretty excited about that. I had to take it off when I was about 6months pregnant with Sian and up until today I have not been able to get it back on. I didn't want to get it resized as I really wanted to lose weight and was sure I would eventually so I have been wearing it on my chain.

It will be interesting to see what mum and dad say when we go over there next week. They haven't seen me since christmas and I have lost about 5kg since then. I can feel it and am starting to be able to see it too!! Yay me! LOL

Well I have had my LO rejected by FK and by SM and haven't heard from SC yet... But I am not upset in the least as I have achieved my aim and that is what counts. (I wanted to do a LO this year that in my eyes was good enough for me to want to try submitting it regardless of if it got accepted or not)

I am trying to motivate myself as I have RAKS to put together and challenges I want to do and a comp to enter and a house to clean LOL - some days though it is just a non event LOL.....
The weather has taken a sudden cold snap since the weekend, it went from nice sunny weather to bl**dy Freezing!!! I am NOT complaining though as I love the cold weather, but for the first time since October/November we have fired up the heating.
Gareth thinks I am a nutcase as I love the cold wet wintery conditions and loved the English weather, when I moved to England back in 2001, I arrived at Gareth's place (from then to be known as our house LOL) and remember sitting in the lounge looking out the window thinking what have I done! Moving half way around the world away from family and friends, and then it started snowing, I was out the front door standing in the snow in awe (never had I seen it snow before) Gareth comes out with my jacket and puts it over my shoulders gives me a hug and says you are crazy!! But from that point on I never doubted that I had done the right thing! :0)
I keep saying I would love to live back over there some day and get told eehmmm NO lol! I really don't think now that I have the kids that I would like to live so far away from Mum and Dad.... 8 hours is too much distance these days, let alone half way around the world :0)
Oh well enough procrastination I guess I should try and get something done.
til next time - Adios Amigos

Huge Thanks...

to Peta (possum) for the LO's of my 2 gorgeous kids.
I am a huge fan of Peta's work and I must say I am stoked at having her do LO's of my 2 littlies.

Thanks again!!!

Been a fairly quiet weekend, had bbq with friends and watched the grand prix on Sunday.... Went to the gym and have had my weights put up :) - I am actually starting to be able to see that I am toning up :-D - weight has dropped another kilo so I am pretty happy!! I am feeling alot happier in myself of late too, so I am hoping it is only going to get better and that I won't slip backwards again!!
I have actually submitted a LO today to FK magazine... I am not expecting a 'yes' but it doesn't really bother me that much, one of my aims this year was to do a LO that I felt was good enough in my eyes for me to want to try submitting it. I have achieved this and now if it is not accepted anywhere I am ok with that too :-D

Here it is....

Intention Inspired - Day 1

TODAY'S WORDS OF AFFIRMATION I am inspired because I can feel a flame inside me pulling me to create more and live life more fully. ...
