Home again

Well after a looooong drive today we are home :) Actually the drive went pretty smoothly, the kids were good... I am just pooped out. I really wish flying was cheaper :-D

I will catch up on my photos of the day soon. Tonight I think it's just chilling time :-D hehe!

My tooth saga ended on the 27th... I walked into the dentist for my appointment and Dr Moran says .. Young Sam (he won me over right then LOL ) I haven't seen you for 4 years .... ummm thats because I have moved to Melbourne ...Ohhh he says.... I think though I am going to schedule checkups and non emergency dental work for when I head back to SA, he is really a fantastic dentist.
He fit me in and in 1/2 an hour I had a fully reconstructed tooth (in Trini's words - (I have a TITANIUM (gotta use caps and a deep voice for that word!!)implant and it is fantastic! (I loved this comment and HAD to use it ) :) all for 1/10 of what my dentist here in Melbourne was going to charge me!!!
Granted that the crown is not Porcalain like it would have been if I had it done here. But it's a 'glass' crown (with a TITANIUM screw right up through to the tip of the root and fully expected to last 15 years or more
But it was SO GOOD to be able to smile again and not feel silly :-D

Our holiday with Mum and Dad was great... I feel like it's the most relaxed I have been in a long time. :-D Sian took to Dad really well and they spent hours 'chatting' and playing in the back yard. Both kids adore their Nana & Grandad :-D

I am all ready to look towards 2007 with a new attitude and loads of personal 'aims' that I would like to work towards.

Day 21, 22, 23 & 24

Well 21 is a nice little spiderweb in our backyard, then 22 is my last photo before xmas in Vic and then 23 is over here in SA
The trip over was fast and a fairly smooth one. On the road by 430am so that was pretty much to plan. First stop was Ararat for breakfast. Sat down, took a bite of my bacon and egg roll and snap..... My front tooth which is a capped false one, had snapped off and closer inspection reveals that it was right up at the gum line :(
Being a Saturday and 2 days before xmas means that I have no way of getting it fixed before the 27th :( and thats only if I can actually get in to see a dentist. It's not a great look :( I am really interested to see what they will do as it is so close to the gum. (a very small part of the original tooth and the root are still there but it's dead) Wether they are able to fix it or if it will need to be totally extracted and I get a bridge or plate with a false tooth on it.

But it's Christmas Eve and I am all set to go, except for the actual wrapping of the presents. We didn't do it before we left because they would have ripped anyway. lol
We are goiong to make our reindeer food soon and start to wind down ready for the lights and the Carols on TV.

To everyone that visits me here I would like to wish a happy and safe christmas. May your day be relaxed and that you get totally spoiled!!!

I will add my Day 24 photo later on :)

Robbie Robbie Robbie!!!

Well it's over, but I can now say I have seen Robbie Live and Oh My what a great experience it was. 66,500 people, it really was amazing and the atmosphere was electric. Favourite song of the night I think was Monsoon. But then I love them all HAHA! No Kylie to help do 'Kids', but that was cool, would have been a nice bonus. But I saw who I wanted to so it doesn't matter!
He is incredible the way he works the crowd. He had the Aussie Aussie Aussie chant going for a bit, among other chants and echo/repeat type fun.
I didn't get teary like I thought I would (thank goodness for that!)

Some pics to share... I was going to share some video footage too, but can't seem to make it work on here - oh well!!
*SIGH*
If you click on the pictures you can see them better :)

Days 10 & 11

OMGoodness..... I can't believe that I am unable to access my favourite website :( One Stop Scrapping is usually the first place I head once I turn my pc on in the morning and for some reason our internet connection has decided that it can't access it. I have tried all sorts of different solutions to no avail. I have asked others and I am the only one :( I rang bigpond tonight just to see what they said and I was told 'yeah there is nothing wrong with the site I can get it ok! He went on to tell me that they will do tests on our connection and see if they can discover why, but it might take up to a week *SHOCK* Do you think I was impressed?

Anyway *sigh* photo of the day for Day 10 is this

It really needs a clean :( but I will get to eventually

and Day 11 was taken after we finished baking biscuit this morning. Brad thought it was a lot of fun using alphabet cutters :) and Sian just made snakes!!

Day 8 & 9

Day 8 is the yummmy mince pies that I made

Day 9 is photos of the smoke that is hanging around from the bushfires here in Vic.
These shots don't 'really' show how bad it is. You walk outside and it's like a thick fog. To make it worse the streets are dead quiet this morning and it is really eerie. My thoughts go to all that are in the effected areas and I pray that the weather is nice to the fire fighters today and not the predicted wind and heat. They are reporting that these fires are shaping up to be the worst here in Vic since 1939. :(

Oh What a Night!

Poor Sian, I think her ears are playing up :( or maybe it's 2yo molars that are affecting her ears, but she didn't go to bed until 11pm!! and then she was awake at 2am screaming, I went to find her sitting behind her door, so I comforted and settled her back in bed only to find her crawling in next to me 15 mins later :( so we had cuddles and then I took her back to bed, but she didn't stay there and she wouldn't sleep in our bed and this went on until 5am this morning :( Thinking okay at least she should get a decent sleep now, but no she was back out of bed before 730. So 1 very tired mum and toddler today and Brad is not much better!

My photo of the day is how Sian crashed this afternoon on the lounge chair.

and I did this LO last night for this month's challenge at 1,2,3....Challenge

and the last one is just a close up that I have seen many people do and I just 'had' to try it :)

Dec 4th Photo of the Day

My 2 little rascals .... I decided that this morning I would take their easel outside and let them do some painting :) All was going well, they were sharing and being good. Then I came inside to get some more paper and top up the paints and went back out to find THIS .......

LOL - I guess they were having fun, Brad told me they were painting with their noses! I let them go for a little bit as they were already covered anyway and then it was off to the bath and get clean for lunch :)

Photo of the day

This is my picture for today - Holly on the bush in our back garden

We went to a BBQ today with a group of people from Gareth's work and it wasn't a bad day. I have next to no voice and feeling a bit blaah, but once I sat down and relaxed a little it was a nice afternoon. It was at a place called Freshwater Creek Park (I think) in Merna. Sian fell and bumped her head and tripped and bit her lip, my little girl is in the wars today ! We are all a little on the pink side :( naughty me for not applying sunscreen.

Looking forward to a new week and 15 DAYS TIL ROBBIE!!! haha

Happy Anniversary Mum & Dad and Photo of the Day

Big Happy 34th Anniversary to my Mum and Dad for today. Love to you both :)

One of my OSS friends has issued a challenge, to take a photo every day this month :-D Sounds like fun so here are my Dec 1st and 2nd photos to share

I would just like to say thanks to everyone for their messages of support. :) I have contacted a group called SANDS and will probably go to some of their meetings in the new year. It was really great to talk to someone about everything.
I just wanted to put this poem on heere so that I have a record of it (in case I lose the sheet of paper!)

The Cord Author unknown

We are connected
My child and I
An invisible cord
Not seen by the eye

It's not like the cord
That connects us til birth
This cord can't be seen
By any on earth

This cord does it's work
Right from the start
It binds us together
Attached to my heart

I know that it's there
Though no one can see
The invisible cord
From my child to me

The strength of this cord
Though it's hard to describe
It cannot be destroyed
It cannot be denied

It's stronger than any cord
Man can create
It withstands the test
Can hold any weight

And although you're gone
Though you're not here with me
The cord is still there
But no one can see

It pulls at my heart
I am bruised, I am sore
But this cord is my lifeline
As never before

I am thankful that we
Are connected this way
A mother and child
Death can't take away

Intention Inspired - Day 1

TODAY'S WORDS OF AFFIRMATION I am inspired because I can feel a flame inside me pulling me to create more and live life more fully. ...
