A Very Wet Airshow

Despite it being very wet and rainy and being very uncomfortable at times ... the jets were worth seeing :D

The Hornets taking off

In Formation

This was one huge plane ... It can fit a tank inside it

The Black Hawk Helipcopter demonstration... this was great, but I am thankful the kids had gone with Gareth to get food.... They showed the fast roping technique to get troops onto the ground quickly.

They then went on to play act them being spotted and the jets coming in to clear the area so the black hawks could come back in to collect them.... but what I and many others weren't expecting was this

There were *fireworks* ... certainly made me jump LOL
and it left behind a smoke ring .... something extremely rare .. or so we are told.

As we were heading out they brought out the Super Hornet

And we looked at the F1-11 on the ground before we headed out the gate.... this is the gun that goes on the nose of the plane... with a cheeky guy in uniform LOL

Change!!

Well I said my word for the year was change ....

I applied for a job on Friday, I got a phone call Tuesday, I went for 2 interviews (stage 1 & 2) on Wednesday and found out at 305pm on Thursday I was successful, I now go for induction tomorrow morning at 10am and then a medical at 140pm and start Monday!!!

Thats sounds so rushed... that's exactly how I feel too!!

I have managed to sort out childcare and before school care and all is good. Huge thanks to my very supportive husband Gareth and friend Kerryn :) helping me out with looking after the kids and drop offs pick ups while I am rushing around everywhere.

It is working for Sensis, which comes under the Telstra banner... a company I worked for when I left school for 8 years. So I have come full circle in many respects, but I am thankful to be able to get employment in the current economic climate. Even if it is a little earlier than I was hoping for.

We are off to the Avalon airshow this weekend which should be fantastic despite the bad weather that has been predicted.

Last but not least huge hugs and lots of thoughts for my friend and her family that have had some unpleasant news :( I hope things turn out better than predicted. Thinking of you!
