Thought

Well I just want to post something that I struggle with and I read something this morning that really made sense and made me think.

Can you recal last Sunday's sermon or what you read in Scripture yesterday? If you listen for what the Lord has to say to you and seriously believe He intends for you to act upon what you hear then you will be able to remember. So as you open the Bible and when you enter church, pray for the Holy Spirit to help you really hear the Father's specific message for your life. Listening to God is not some casual activity, it's the most important think you can do, for your well-being now and also throughout eternity.

I struggle with REALLY listening and hearing what God is speaking to me. My prayer for today is to stop, slow down and really really listen to what God wants to tell me today.

No pictures! BOOOOOOOO

Well we had our third rodeo this weekend and I made a BIG booboo and forgot my CF card in my digital camera so I could take pictures but I cant get them on the computer. That just makes me soooooooo sad and mad at myself. Anyway Hunter did very well once again. He didn't cover his sheep or his calf but still did GREAT! He is way more into the calf riding than the sheep riding sometimes and this weekend was one of those times. He stayed on his calf for almost 5 sec. and just did really really great. It is really amazing David and I. We just did not think he would enjoy calf riding but so far he is proving us wrong. Again I apologize for no pictures. But there will be lots more.

9 Years

Well 9 years ago today I was in North Carolina getting ready to be married to the most wonderful man on earth. That's right, I got married on Valentines Day. To some it may seem cheezy but not to me. I love it!!!!!!! David was in the Army at the time and only had about 1 year left and so we thought we could wait to be married but as it turned out we couldn't. Imagine going to your parents and saying, Mom and Dad I want to fly to North Carolina and get married to a boy you really dont know very well at all. Oh my goodness, if I were the parent I would not have been so calm, as my parents were. They had met David and his family when he was home at Christmas that year but other than that they did not know him at all. I had known David for several years prior because he was friends with some of the guys I worked with at Joe Allen's and so we hung out alot for almost 5 years but never in that 5 years did we have a relationship other than great friends. In fact I dated a friend of his for 3 of those 5 years. Isn't it amazing how God works. Well back to my getting married story. I went to my parents and expressed that I wanted to get married and couldn't wait until David got home to do it so they gave me their Blessing to do as I wished. I did alot of the things every other bride to be does like getting a wedding dress, although it was alot low key, and even had a money tree shower and got a bouque to hold and such. But three days before Valentine's Day I got on an airplane all by myself to fly to North Carolina to get married. That's right, all by myself. It is amazing to me to think back to how calm and confident I was that I was doing exaclty what I was supposed to do. My parents were of course sad that they couldn't see me and be there for me on my special day but they were soooooo supportive, it blows me away to think about it. David and I got married in a little wedding chapel with some of his army buddies as witnesses. It was very sweet and a wonderful memory. But to top all of that off. The very next day at about 8:00am I had to get back on a plane to go home. WOW, I still cant believe I left my husband the very next day after becoming his wife. It was though Absolutley one of the hardest things I have ever done. So after that we again planned on me staying here in Abilene while he finished his year in the army but NO that didn't work either. I moved to North Carolina in July and we lived together as man and wife while he finished his term in the army. I lived there about 1 year. It was GREAT! I loved every minute of it. I have lasting memories of our first year of marriage together. And now here we are 9 years later with two adoring children and a wonderful blessed marriage. David I love you more today than I ever have. You make me truly a better person and I love you for that. I cant wait for the next 9 plus years as your wife. I love you! Happy Anniversary.

Paintball

Well this weekend was my nephews 13 birthday and he wanted to go play paintball. So my kids and I and my parents went to Midland to a really cool paintball place and had a blast. We have never been before and so it was alot of fun. It is really not for 6 year old boys but I let Hunter at least shoot a gun at the targets, just not at people and nobody shot him either. He had a GREAT time. It is for sure a boy element. Hunter loves guns so he really really really enjoyed it.

This is a picture of what he did at first. He brought a gun from my sister's house and just watched and played with his gun behind the scenes. He loved even that. HA

My nephew is the one on the left in the grey shirt. This is the boys getting their guns ready and stuff.
We all had a great time. I cant believe Kam is 13. It is amazing how fast times goes by.
I love you dearly Kam.

Rodeo #2

This is Dad and Hunter getting ready to ride. Like father, Like Son. (look at their faces). They look exactly alike. HA

Well the above picture is sheep ride #1. This sheep started out great but then all of a sudden just stopped in the middle of the ride so of course Hunter wouldnt have gotten a very good score so he took the reride option and got to ride again to try for a better score.

So this is ride #2. Hunter did great! He rode super and stayed on the whole 8 sec. and got a score of 68 which gave him second place. The first place boy got a score of 70 so Hunter was close. He did great though and we were very proud.

Now this is what I want to tell you all about. Hunter is old enough this year to ride a calf if he so wishes and he so wished too this week. Oh man was Mommy nervous, and Daddy too. Hunter was so excited! David said in the shoot Hunter was fired up and didn't show any back down at all. David said he was very excited. David was a little surprised about that but he was so proud of Hunter. Riding a sheep doesnt really even compare to riding a calf. Sheep have NO buck at all. All sheep do is run fast and turn, which makes the boys learn how to adjust their body weight from side to side without falling off BUT a calf actually Bucks so Hunter had NEVER experienced that feeling before. He did really good though for his first time. He stayed on about 3 sec. and when he fell off he got stepped on a little. He was disappointed that he didn't stay on the whole time. He now knows what to expect if he decides to do it again. He says he wants to but we'll see when the next rodeo comes around in two weeks. Anyway to say the least David and I couldnt be prouder.

I didn't get very good pictures of him riding the calf because as you can tell from the picture above, that all the men are in my way. HA
