Wii are so cool.

That's right, we got a Wii. Well, Lee got a Wii. That's what he wanted for his birthday in September so we bit the bullet and shelled out $22,976 for the Wii and it's accessories. That may be a slight exaggeration, but not by much.

So anyhoo, we get home, Lee sets everything up. He's stewing in his own excitement and anticipation of playing the first game. I put the little one to bed and we commence with Wii bowling. Please check out the results below. I'm, of course, the one on the left wearing the red glasses (pretty realistic likeness, no?). I kicked Lee's ass on the inaugural bowling match. Who knew I had such skills.

One year ago...

One year ago yesterday, I met the most fabulous guy. He turned out to be all I dreamed of...and more! Sure, he can be a bit clingy and whiny at times, but what man isn't? :) But when he looks into my eyes, it just melts my heart! Here he is:

That's right - my baby turned 1 yesterday. Unfortunately, he marked the occasion with a trip to the after hours emergency clinic on Saturday night. He's just not been himself for the last three weeks. He's just been....well, off. Very, very fussy. We call it A Tale of Two Babies. He's either super happy and precious, or crying. It came to a head on Saturday. He would NOT let me put him down when we were at my parents' house. That was not like him at all because he loves being there. He just had his head buried on my shoulder; it was so pathetic. And I could tell he had a fever. So on my mom's advice, we took him to the emergency clinic. And I'm glad I did! Poor guy has a double ear infection and his temp was 102. I'm happy to report that after being on antibiotics for the last 48 hours, he's on the mend. He's back to being my good ole Joey. He was still very clingy yesterday but he was very smiley....and adorable.

Lee had to work yesterday so it was just me and the birthday boy. He took a looooong nap in the afternoon and then we ran some errands and visited some family. I gave him a cookie (loved it!) and let him have his own slice of cheese pizza. I managed to get a few pics of him eating it but they didn't come out too great. I'll get some pics of him eating cake this weekend.

I can't believe that he's 1. It seems like he was just a little newborn. But at the same time, I can't remember what it was like before him! The first few months were so hard. Even when I read that post and see that I said I was feeling more relaxed, I know I was NOT. It took me a long time to relax. Now I'm pretty chill. I sometimes will catch myself thinking "I can't believe I'm actually someone's mom." And so far, I haven't really screwed him up!

To honor my little man's birthday, here are some pictures from the past year.
