It's a Girl!!!

So Tuesday the 27th was our 20 week ultrasound and it was confirmed that we will be expecting another little angel into our lives. There is no denying she is a girl. Her butt was up in the air and leg wide open for a clear shot. The girls are so excited and the boys really wanted a boy but all and all we are glad that everything looks good and she looks healthy. Now it's time to start preparing for another girl! Time to buy all the necessary items like onesies, socks, towels, washclothes, etc. it's like having a first child all over again. We had family pictures just a few weeks ago and they turned out really good. As soon as I get my CD in the mail I will post some of the pictures. The kids are all doing well and are looking forward to Halloween!

1st Doctors visit

I had to pick a new OB since my last one is in Arizona. I really think I am going to like him. he did his residency at the County hospital so we were laughing about all the crazy things that went on there. it made me feel right at home so that was good. He did do an ultrasound and confirmed there was only one baby in my tummy and not two. That was some of the best news I heard in awhile. Now I can put to rest all the rumors of me having twins! Annika was able to go with me and see the baby and hear the heart beat. She really is so excited, and i couldn't ask for a better helper or caregiver should I say. My nausea and dizziness is getting better but I occasionally still get sick and when I get sick I'm sick all day. Annika will sit and rub my back while I'm throwing up, and then she gets me a glass of water. She really does look out for me. She rubs my tummy and gives it a kiss every night. She is really hoping for a girl and I think will be really disappointed if it's a boy. She just told me she wants a little sister to take care of. I know she will be a great help when the baby gets here. We seem to have such a busy lifestyle. I guess with 4 kids why wouldn't it be busy right? right now we are just trying to save up for Emilie's trip to San Diego to dance in the poinsettia bowl. This week Annika started her first dance class and loves it. She told me she was a great dancer! I just love the joy that she brings to our family. We are just enjoying our time together as a family and i'm enjoying not working as much and being able to be home with the kids!

current update

I have neglected my blog for such a long time. Just been busy with a bunch of other stuff. so here is an update what's going on in the schavey household. Greg and I found out that we will be expecting our 5th child! yeah we are so excited but it's been a really rough one for me. I've never been sick with any of my other pregnancies but this one has been killing me. I should be about 10 weeks along so hopefully this will all be going away soon! The joke around the neighborhood and in the ward is that I am having twins! God help me if I am! We are just getting down the the wire for school to start. As a mom it's probably bad to say but I can't wait for school to start! Blake will be in 8th grae, Chandler in 4th, Emilie in 3rd, and Annika will be in Pre-k. All will be in school all day so I will have so much time. I will probably just work up until I have the baby and then will cut back and work only part time a couple days a week after the baby is born. We are so grateful for the blessings that we have in our life. I will try and keep this more updated as the school year goes on and alot will happen over the next couple of months. Emilie got invited to go to the poinsetta bowl to dance in their half time show, so we are looking for anybody who wants to make a donation for her to go. It's a really good experience but it's also pricey and it falls the week of christmas, so that doesn't help any! We are so proud of her success that she has made in dance. She really has found her hoppy! Hope al is well with our family and friends.

remodeling nightmares

So we are so excited for our new floors, but however the in between is not the fun part. The first day they ripped up all of our tile floors, dust is everywhere and it will be like moving into a new house and having to wash walls, re-wash the dishes and all that fun stuff. We have to walk around in shoes so we don't get splinters in our feet from the sub floor. There were repairs done the the sub floor that needed to be done, but the tile is in the bathrooms and the laundry room and man does it look good! Our wood floors should be delivered on Friday and so by the end of next week all flooring will be in and it will look fantastic!

We've started to re-paint the whole house. I don't like boring walls. The laundry room will be painted a green color and we bought cabinets and we are going to be painting them a distressed cream cottage color. We will be paint our hall bathroom a green color with yellow accents. We are going to be moving the girls upstairs to get them away from the mean brothers(as Emilie would call it) and they will have a rich purple room with yellow and green accents. Finally our house after 18 months is getting to be the way we want it. As any of you know I love change. I'm already dis-liking the way my downstairs looks so I've decided we are going to be painting that as well. I miss my yellow walls from our phoenix house so we are going to be painting the downstairs yellow and decoration it with Red and Green accents to tie in the upstairs with it. I'm hoping to have all of this done by the end of May, just in time for Summer Vacations. It's all going to be well worth the time and I will post pictures all along the process.

The Cast is Finally OFF!!!!

Annika is such a brave girl, we went to the doctor on Thursday and her cast came off. As most kids would normally cry at the sound of the saw on the cast, she just sat there amused at it and just talked the whole time to the doctor. The doctor said to us he's never had a child this calm and good come into his practice. That was such a compliment for us to hear. But we couldn't agree more with his statement. She just brings such a sweet spirit to our lives and is so much fun to be around. She still baby's her foot and walks like she has a cast on, but is starting to be alot more brave with it. Kids are like rubberbands they bounce back so quick. I'm sure she will be back to normal shortly.

The Cast Is On

So we went to the docotor on Thursday. He was on call at the ER so we had to wait quit a while. After the long waiting we finally got called back to the room. Well the x-rays from the Urgent Care weren't as clear as they needed to be. The doctor agreed we needed to cast her leg and it will remain for 3 weeks. After that we will be able to re-take x-rays and see if we need to keep her cast on any longer. WE finally got a walking boot with her cast so no more sore backs from carrying her everywhere. Annika picked a pink cast which is her favorite color. She was pretty excited at the doctor's office waiting for her cast. She's learned to walk pretty good on it. Showering is still a chore because it takes Greg and I to both bathe her because she can't get her cast wet. She loves to tell everybody about her broken foot and how it happened. Kids are so cute and they recover well.

The snow has been melting outside and it's been pretty sunny this last week. I don't mind the snow melting at all, but we are getting a few storms this next week and should see some more snow for awhile. I can't wait until spring when everything has some color again.

what happens when you sled backwards

So outside our backyard we have an amazing sledding hill, but what happens when you're 4 year old daughter Annika decides to be adventureous and slide down it backwards? Well She now how's a broken ankle in 2 spots. She was slidding down the hill backwards and hit a man in front of her. After long hours of crying and not walking on her foot, and it was really swollen greg decided to take her in for somebody to look at it. After taking x-rays the doctor came back and told us it was broken in two spots. With it being the weekend and all we weren't able to get her in to the surgeon until this next week. She will have a cast and hopefully she will be able to get a walking boot. Right now she can't walk and requires her to be carried around. I have to take her to the bathroom, and take her anywhere she wants to be since she can't walk. She does try to do alot of stuff on her own however. It's so sad, she crawls around the house and crys when her foot hurts and she can't get what she wants. I now envy those parents that care for handicap childrens because it's tiring and wears on you, espeically when you are so tired and not getting alot of sleep. I don't know what her fate is this next week. We aren't sure if she will be able to go to school, depending on what happens next. She may be spending some work days with Greg or I at work. I will post all her broken ankle pictures. Keep her in your prayers. I am just blessed it wasn't worse. I guess no sledding for the rest of the season. It will be a sad day she lives for sledding.
