I just got this song in the mail from my aunt and thought it would do us all a little good to think more of Christ as Christmas comes around. Something to think about:
Where's The Line For Jesus?
Christmas time was approaching
Snow was starting to fall
Shoppers choosing their presents
People filling the mall
Children waiting for Santa
With excitement and glee
A little boy tugged my sweater
Looked up and asked me
Where's the line to see Jesus?
Is He here at the store?
If Christmas time is His birthday
Why don't we see Him more?
As I stood in amazement
At this message profound
I looked down to thank him
He was no where around
The little boy at the mall
Might as well have had wings
As the tears filled my eyes
Thought I heard him sing
Where's the line to see Jesus?
Is He here at the store?
If Christmas time is His birthday
Why don't we see Him more?
Where's the line to see Jesus?
He was born for me
Santa Claus brought me presents
But Christ gave His life for me
In the blink of an eye
At the sound of His trump
We'll all stand in line at His throne
Every knee shall bow down
Every tongue will confess
That Jesus Christ is Lord.
Where's teh Line to see Jesus?
Is He here at the store?
If Christmas time is His birthday
Why don't we see Him more?
Where's the line?
Where's the line?
Where's the line for the lord?

Leavenworth, WA
All I've heard about in the past few weeks, is how wonderful this little town is. It is definitely a tourist attraction but it sounds like the most amazing Christmas tradition complete with roasted chestnut vendors on the street corners, tree lighting ceremonies, and Santa.
Hopefully we'll have more time next year.
Macy
This is what happens when a two-year-old decides that she should dress herself.
She did get dressed cute this morning but when a package came in the mail with clothes for her little sissy, she couldn't wait to put them on. (This outfit is a size 3 to 6 months.) Her shoes, put on by herself, are on the wrong feet but don't try reasoning with her... it's pointless. The rain coat... She didn't want her cute one instead the one that isn't warm at all. What can you do?
At least she is still pretty cute and you can't help but love her.
Boredom
Living in a small town of late, has taught me a few things. First, if there is no shopping around (or within 50 miles besides Walmart) you find different ways to keep yourself entertained. I've been busy with different crafts as well as various projects and parties that we've been throwing. It all started with Kylene's baby shower and then continued on with our Christmas Book Club, and now to our christmas goodies, and lastly that will continue for a while, lots and lots of Primary things. I was discussing all of this with my friends in the last few days and it started an interesting conversation. We were taking them on a tour of our house and she saw my craft room and the various projects laying around. I was apologizing for the mess and telling her I have so many because I'm trying to entertain myself while Macy sleeps (plus it's more fun than cleaning my house right now) and essentially it is what I do when I'm bored. The next thing I knew, she was telling her husband that she wanted to be bored with me. He looked at us like we were crazy and then she went on to explain that no, it's not that she thinks I'm boring but that she wants to have all of the spare time around to do the various fun projects with me... and I can't wait to have another friend around to do my various projects with! Anyways... enough with the stories and on to the fun projects. This is what my boredom has consisted of in the past few weeks:
A Christmas Advent with magnets that Macy can play with.
Macy watching Sesame Street in various positions (this time included chewing on my nativity set... These two year old molars are going to be the death of me one of these days (or at least the death of my nativity set)).
New stockings. I had a lot of left over material from my Christmas Quilt and since Macy and little girl Schmidt don't have stockings, I put these together.
These are a few weeks old from enrichment, but still simple and even better non-breakable.
New luggage tags for our upcoming trip to Arizona next week.
And lastly what I think to be the coolest and perhaps the one that I'm the most proud of is our Christmas Quilt. It turned out AMAZING!!!! I can't take the credit for the coolest part (as the quilting was done by a shop in Ephrata, WA) but to say the least I'm very, very excited about cuddling up with my new blanket and hot chocolate. Delicious!
So, Kylene after you and your new little girl get settled in, we would love to get BORED with you! (And anyone else around!!)

Thanksgiving in Boise
With the constant bad weather we have been having here, we were a bit fearful about how the weather was going to be on our way to Boise this past week. Picking the best time or so we thought, we left as soon as Tim got off work Tuesday night. The trip to Boise is usually a six hour drive and we were surprised that we were making decent time even though the roads were a bit icy. About four hours into our drive (being about half way there... due to the snow and ice) we were surprised when all of the cars in front of us were stopped on the freeway. Sitting there, we were puzzled as to why we would all be stopped but soon realized that there was an accident of some kind in front of us and just hopped it would be gone soon and we could get on our way. Two tow trucks, snow plows, police cars, rescue trucks, and TWO hours later, we were finally back on our way after the tow trucks had pulled a semi off the side of the road. It was quite an adventure and we finally got to Boise about 3:00 a.m. A mere six hour drive had turned into almost nine hours!!!! At least that was the worst of our trip. (At least, we weren't Ashley and Kaytlen who ended up taking the Bus from Provo to Boise a usual 7 hour drive that turned into 13, yuck!)
Some of the Highlights of our trip were:

Thanksgiving Dinner was delicious and we were stuffed to the brim.
Macy was in heaven as she had many big kids to choose from and all who would lovingly follow her around and entertain her all the time.
Tim and I got to go to the Temple. (It was nice to have a babysitter and a temple within twenty minutes).
We went shopping for a new christmas tree and enjoyed the many shops on Black Friday.
Tim and the men in my family went shooting guns. Although cold, they spent hours out there with my dad's new muzzle loader.
We took Macy iceskating for the first time. She was excited to put on the skates and then it was fantastic to be pulled around on the ice. They even had a little walker type helping device that she could kind of do it herself. I think it is an activity that we will have to do here in Moses Lake now.
We celebrated Macy's birthday with my family. Macy got a fun little teapot and some new coloring stuff.
Macy went all wheeling. She enjoyed putting on my sister's rollerblades and having someone pull her around the house. Then when someone got bored of pulling her around, she would sit on the little scooter car and push herself around with the rollerblades on.
Overall, it was a great Thanksgiving and we loved spending time with our families.
Macy's 2nd Birthday
My sweet little girl turned two this week. (I know I say this all of the time, but I can't believe Macy is already this old and big). We celebrated Macy's birthday with a fun lunch with Tim and his assistant Kisha in Quincy and then finished the night off with her favorite food, Mac and Cheese and then a delicious Elmo Cake. (Sesame Street is currently her favorite thing in the world!)
We got Macy a little kitchen for her birthday and she has spent the past few days in heaven. She takes Tim by the hand to go up to her room so that she can play with it. Of course, she can't play by herself but loves to bake bread in the microwave, wash her hands in the sink, and put the food away in the fridge. I'm so excited that she loves her present!!!

Christmas Parade
Out town tends to put on really cool events during the year and Christmas is no different. As I was driving home from Lunch with Tim this week, I saw a sign for a Lighted Christmas Parade this weekend and thought Ohhh, this could be fun. As the time came closer, it was a big debate at our house about whether we should brave the 20 degree weather to go to the parade or not. We ended up hooking up with some our friends (Kylene and Jeremy) to watch the parade (complete with Santa, Frosty, and the Grinch). Although cold outside, the hot choloate and lots of warm layers kept us warm. Some of the best parts were all the events that they put on during the parade as well... They had marshmellow roasting, a bounce house for kids, hayrides, and all of the stores on 3rd stayed open extra late (some even providing a little hot cider to help keep you warm). It was a great way to get us started on our Christmas Cheer!
Santa and Crafts
During our many trips to Home Depot in the past 24 hours (we were trying to put up our Christmas Lights outside and had many debates over how to put them up)... we saw a sign saying that Santa was coming to Home Depot today. Seeing as we don't have a mall to take Macy to in town, we thought Home Depot would be just as good. Macy had fun putting together a Christmas Frame with her daddy (although I think Tim had more fun with it than she did). Macy loved decorating her frame with stickers and pulling them off. She wasn't so sure about the whole Santa experience and wouldn't even sit on his lap (hence the picture standing next to him). She did get close enough to get a candy cane but then again maybe next year.
